    At 74, I was scheduled for Rotator Cuff surgery. I followed Dr Mandell's diet program and exercises. It wasn't long before I was able to cancel the surgery appointment with my Dr's full agreement. I could not believe it. Thank you Dr Mandell,

    Wow! Dr. man well I wish I could give you a personal email to thank you for your knowledge and for sharing it with the public free of charge. You give hope to so many people who feel out of control and in such bad pain. I have struggled with bad head forward posture and the aches and pains in my SCM, scalene muscles and sub occipital regions as well as jaw and temporal areas. Boy I am the test book case of HFP! I was using your videos on scalene and SCM muscle trigger points and I felt terrible striking pain and tingling down in my right neck and shoulder and arm. So I looked for more of your videos and found this 2 in 1 stretch. WOW!!!!!! I was in pain doing it but then... I was in no pain at all. I felt like chains of pain had been cut off me. I also felt the scalene and SCM pain back way down!! It is amazing how all our parts are connected. So Dr. M. you have given me hope and you have empowered me to help myself. God bless you. You are a great teacher and doctor. Sincerely- Jennifer D.

    I somehow injured a shoulder almost 2 years ago while being inactive. Being low income and falling into a health insurance gap left me with little options for care. I went to a free health clinic and saw a nurse practicioner, no tests or xrays available to me. I was given naproxen sodium, but pretty much treated like my symptoms were not real. At the time I have severe burning in the shoulder ball area, had to keep elbow bent, if I moved my arm or hand slightly a certain way then sharp pains sent up my arm, very limited arm movement. Now it's mostly better but still not full range of motion. I can't fully raise my arm above my head, or if I lean against a wall with arms at 90 degrees to do angel wings for posture, my hand cant rest against the wall it's about 6 inches away from wall, so it not fully recovered.
    I just found your video and will start practicing to try to recover my movement. Thank you so much for what you have done as I still have limited healthcare access and have to treat most things myself at home.

      Hey how are you doing now? Were you able to get a diagnosis as to what your problem was? I've got bursitis in my left shoulder and degenerative disc disease so it's really hard to do all these exercises. But baby steps for me and it's helping.

    Great tips. Recently noticed that my lounge chair has a rounded back which I believed caused me to have this problem, along with poor posture. Using a warm compress before stretching and exercising the shoulder is a good idea and then icing it after to reduce inflammation is a good idea.

    Feels better on my shoulders to clasp palms together when doing this exercise. I'd think this would open up the chest more than having palms facing down. Is palms down definitely better? I feel like palms down rotates the shoulders forward which we don't want...
    Thank you so much, Doc!

    Can barely get into this position at all. Keeping my elbows completely bent, clasping my hands and retracting my shoulder blades causes a deep and intense stretch.
    Maybe if I do this regularly it'll loosen up these tight muscles. Will worry about extending towards the floor later.
    Love all of your content and really appreciate it. Gold mine of information on this channel!

    I love this video! I've got a quick question about how you do this stretching. Do you need to externally rotate your shoulders first, clasp your fingers and push your palms down? Or it doesn't really matter? I kind of find it difficult to externally rotate my shoulders and then clasp my fingers. Thanks.

    • @motivationaldoc
      @motivationaldoc  7 лет назад +2

      Its still ok without externally rotating.

    • @matsuoka1209
      @matsuoka1209 7 лет назад +2

      Thanks a lot! I've been doing this the last few days and now it feels like externally rotating my shoulders first has become less challenging. Maybe I've got more space around my shoulder area! Again, thanks for the great video!

    Over the past 5 months I’ve noticed I had more shoulder pain and less range of motion. I tried to do the exercise, but it causes a pinching feeling in my shoulder. I can do it if I take it slow, but I have a feeling I’ve already got a supraspinatus tear.

    I have been doing exercises similar to this but individually, like stretching the chest muscles and working with bands on the rhomboids, scapula drops, etc. I had a frozen scapula that I didn't know about. That is free now. I was literally out of pain. Yesterday I was working with a chain saw at my job, the lightest chain saw on the market, and after 2 hours the job was finished and I have never been in more pain in all my life. 2 Aleve, epsom salt bath, Deep Blue ointment and I managed to relieve the pain. I will try this exercise, but just out of curiosity, what is it I'm trying to achieve here? Am I building the rhomboid muscle? If so, would a rowing exercise benefit? Thank you for trying to help.

    What if you're unable to even touch your fingers together in the back? The pain radiates down my left deltoid muscle with excruciating pain that subsides after about 10 seconds? What to do? Is this a different type of injury. I know how I did it ...when I lifted a trash lid up with my elbow while dumping a smaller tran can forward into the bigger one because I had something in my right hand at the time. I felt a pain and now more pain 4 months now. Use to be able to lift my arm to put my hair up but cant now without pain or put on a basball cap. Is this muscle, tendon or rotary cuff? Please respond.
