I think one of my favorite things about this cinematic is how the music changes when she and her mother are speaking. It changes to reflect who is speaking, a more lighthearted and fresh sound for Kiriko, and a more traditional melody for her mother
I've watched and rewatched the Kiriko short so often, even just to see reactions from youtubers I never heard of before to the point where listening to this track is enough of a guide to see the whole thing unravel in my memory lol, what a great piece of work it was.
Overwatch should stick to making animated series. They're much better at it than maintaining a good game experience. This is a genuinely heartwarming and engaging story
Fun fact, Blizzard used music from Cyberpunk as a placeholder for this exact scene in the leaked version of the animated short before they later replaced it with their own version for the final release.

5:30 onwards sounds like something you'd hear from a Studio Ghibli movie with how beautiful it sounds

The music for this short was so good. I love how they develop the motif of her 6 notes over the course of the track.
