Thought I would share what I wrote on the boss fight video: This music is really incredible. Especially coupled with the fight and the subject matter. It's like this majestic, fast-paced march forward, almost as if to symbolize Prometheus' self-destructive march of vengeance against the gods. He probably knows that he will lose, just like he probably knew about his punishment, but he still chooses to do what he is doing regardless, in both cases. It's a relentless, almost obsessive march, ever forward, ever against his own fate, because that's what he feels he must do. That's what I hear in this music. That struggle against one's own fate, even with the knowledge of the outcome not being favorable - it ironically feels very similar to the human, mortal condition. And he is, in a way, the true patron of mortals in the greek mythos.
Darren ffs, take me out to dinner first holy SHIT My friend demanded I listen to this, quote "This might be the finest Korbing I've ever heard" Man am I glad I listened
I was playing yesterday after a long time while praising the game in front of my friends. At the end I told them "Amazing game, but sadly I've almost completed everything early access has to offer. Can't wait for the next update." As soon as I closed the game, I saw that a new update was available. Needless to say, I restarted the game ASAP and went on to beat the next guardian. So many good new interactions, and so much new stuff I can do and discover! I can't wait to see what Supergiant Games has to offer in the next great update.
Absolutely love how this sounds so different. You're no longer in the Underworld, or even the surface. This is light, airy, high-and-mighty, and warlike all at the same time. Great instrumentation too. Really, really fitting of the heights of Olympus.
I can't wear headphones for more than 30 minutes because my ears start to hurt (volume level doesn't matter), but as soon as I noticed the choir I threw those headphones on. Worth it.
