For those wondering, hating Nickelback IS the joke. They just hate Nickelback because it's Nickelback. Theres no reasoning it's just an internet joke and essentially it could almost be considered a meme. Even though a person can say they hate Nickelback, a lot of the time they don't actually mean it. :)
To be fair, they're not particularly talented musicians, and Chad Kroger is an absolute douche. I think the latter has a LOT to do with the meme.
Also, his voice just bothers me. But I could think of a lot of bands that are worse than Nickelback.
So, if Chad Kroger came up to you, shoved a picture in your face and screamed "LOOK AT THIS PHOTOGRAPH!," you wouldn't be a little annoyed? He's fucking screaming (because that's pretty much all he's vocally capable of) about something that is supposed to be tender and thought provoking. The sentiment and the delivery are total polar opposites. Plus... the lyrics are inane and the song progression is sophomoric, to say the least.

There are many great songs throughout the decades that can speak to every generation. I even find myself enjoying some of the new material that comes out.

I am 55. You are lucky to be young enough to rekindle some of the friendships you had when you were in your teen years and early twenties. Believe me when I say it is a good investment in time and effort to contact those people in the past, even those you felt were not your close friends because those memories becomes more valuable as the decades go by.

I took my boyfriend to see Nickelback in Wheatland, Ca. I bought the tickets and the seats was a lot of walking distance and they ended up giving us seats that were a lot closer than what I had paid for and it was a great concert! I would go back to see them again!

I'm a huge Nickelback fan also, and i read something a little while ago addressing the hate for them, it was something to do with how they are too 'generic' and they don't produce anything 'outside of the ordinary' instead they just consistently produce the same stuff, which is bullshit because they have a variety of different types of songs, either way, the hate is not justified, and sure every artist/group has its haters, but a lot of Nickelback hate is a bandwagon that people join because they are brainwashed by idiots on the internet.

All of human history has been tainted by war, ideology, violence, starvation, and the truth is you can find plenty of examples of horrible mismanagement of human resources and human rights under right wing regimes. I think why so many people don't take nickelback serious is because the lyrics from their song are very weird like in this song.
But that really don't matter when the lead singer Chad Kroeger can most definitely sing wonderfully and the rest of the band members can definitely play their instrument with great skill.

I couldn't care less if anyone does it doesn't like Nickelback. But I absolutely love the band. Some of the best memories of my life are attached to this song. I can remember being on the bus in middle school, hearing it play on the radio.
I remember laughing with my best friends, bumming around town after school. Nickleback has good memories for me.
