I’m loving electrode so much. If you go second, voltorb and electrode knock out mewtwo before it can get 4 energy. If you go first you can power up the bench and retreat out for free.
Pikachu is just so unfathomably consistent. Starting Pikachu / electrode / Zebstrika or Zapdos are all perfectly fine starts. Unlike Mewtwo who really needs to curve into Gardevoir by turn 4.
I like this recap. My favorite deck of the moment is the Koga + Wigglytuff ex (with only 1 copy of Wigglytuff’s line). It’s the most fun one I’ve played so far. If I want to go serious, like for the 5 wins streak, my choice is Charizard.
Hey heads up about the raichu Giovanni play you mentioned often raichu gets its energy from Lt surge and you can't do that and Giovanni in the same turn
Just got my first Arcanine ex tonight, so close to being able to play the better Charizard deck. I am trying not to pen packs till the new set is out, but opened 20 Pikachu packs. Got a few cards I needed though, so was alright. I did a few of the others, too. I actually managed to get a Flareon, Jolteon and Vaoperon as well. Only got 1 of each but it's a start.
@@SirFrosty84 when it shows the “main deck” it shows the cards that are most often used. So for example pikachu EX has several versions, so it’s going to have more than 20 “main cards”. Sorry, I’ll try and point that out better next time
I like 1 x single copy of regular Zapdos (as well as 2 x ex) in my Pikachu deck, when I'm playing Raichu's. I am going to try the Voltorb version though. Regs Zapdos is a nice bench warmer though, and a good staller in the front row, too. I rarely ever attack with it, but have used it as a finisher before. 100 health and 1 cost retreat is nice.
I was playing Machamp ex with Weezing. I seen a version with Meowth and Persian, also. That was a decent deck. Jeff Hoogland was playing it, and I think he got his 5 with it.
The Raichu Variant really needs two X Speeds to preserve energy for Raichu plays. You can’t Surge and Gio on the same turn, but you can pivot to Raichu with X Speed, hit for 140, and if that’s not enough to KO, you can clean up with Zapdos on the next turn. With the Zebstrika or Electrode lines I think it’s less necessary, but it’s never a bad idea to run 2 copies of X Speed. They have 1 retreat cost and aren’t as energy hungry as Raichu, so it’s ok to run 1 and switch for a Gio, but they don’t run Surge, so you’ve already got one space for Gio anyways.
I play Venusaur/Exeggutor EX but yeah if you play a Charizard deck, you’re cooked cause Ven/Exx is a slow build and so is Charizard so when both decks are built, Charizard deck is one shotting.
I play two meowth in my Mewtwo deck. Helps get through the deck faster so I can ensure I see Gardevoir. Coild maybe cut a Meowth for a Giovanni though. What yall think?
is just too high retreat cost for machamp thats it, u cant hit and retreat. Marowak ex is dark horse, just 1 head is good but if flip 2 head is god then if you hit 2 tails ure garbage wasted a turn xD I try playing fighting deck for tournamet the best i did is 6-3. having problem dealing with exeggutor ex lost twice for it and a starmie deck that plays 2 red card.
I've been having great success with Alakazam and Exeggutor Ex deck. Using one copy of meowth for card draw. I actually think this deck is competitive against the top tier decks. It does struggle sometimes against Starmie Ex decks. But one shotting Zard, MewTwo Ex, Dragonite, and Venusaur in many cases makes him a great late game sweeper. Egg helps us dominate Pika. No question Ala teams up better with Egg than Wigglytuff and Greninja after testing each. Vileplime/Victreebell/Tuff all lack sweeping potential and will fall flat against Mewtwo and Zard.
I cant stand and im super tired of Mewto EX Decks. Is it strong? Yes Is it always the same? Also Yes Feels it great to play agains it? Heck no Hope the new coming set will give us alot of answers agains it except playing it also or Pikachu EX
Problem with Pikachu ex is that there is no energy engine for lightning like charizard ex with Moltres or Mewtwo with Gardevore hell even starmie/articuno ex has Misty for that
well i dont think so.. ofc Pikachu Ex deck is really strong, but based on my experience Starmie Ex with Greninja is more consistent than Pikachu (I run with Pika Zapdos and Zebstrika)
@revo5124 No evolution. No high energy requirements. No coin flips. Just spam basics, and you win. It doesn't get much easier than that. With the other two, you have to stall until you get your phase 2. They require a modicum of skill, at least.
I’m liking the Pikachu and Voltorb setup. The speed and damage is nice. Really saved me on this latest event. Pikachu Ex is just strong.
The counter deck is the Marchamp EX deck but with many Mewtwo decks, it cant be played...
I’m loving electrode so much. If you go second, voltorb and electrode knock out mewtwo before it can get 4 energy. If you go first you can power up the bench and retreat out for free.

I like pkchex with both electrode and zebstrika. Still seeing if i run 2-2, 2-1 or drop it to 1-1, with 2 pkchex and 2 zapdex
Lol. Miniset dropping in just 5 days. Meta should be shifted. Mewtwo would suck if there would be any singe drark type EX added
Waiting on that darkrai EX drop 🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Arbok ex would be sick
I think even some more decent dark type Pokémon (even if they aren’t Ex) would benefit the meta. Some fast dark types would be great.
even more if they add immunities and resistances lol
@@abel_36 they've revealed some miniset cards and we seems allright

You can't pobre shot mewtwo ex with raichu unless you pump him in the bench. If you plan on using surge then you can't use Gio in the same turn.
I’ve been rocking a mix of all the Pika EX decks, and it’s been LETHAL
