Yup you can’t beat the nostalgia you get from the og gym leaders. I remember like it was yesterday playing pokemon yellow and overleveling pikachu so I can brute force kill Brock’s onyx with quick attack because I didn’t want to level a water/grass pokemon.
For me the best gym leader is Clay from Unova, playing through the game and seeing him being usefull by helping fight team Plasma, and even helping you get to N with the other gym leaders after the elite 4 is what makes him my favorite (and also i like his cowboy hat) Also his daughter is cute
One of my favorite gym leaders has to be Sabrina, but I also think Koga can be an underrated one. His design is cool and all the trick rooms in the anime were hilarious!
Favorite gym leader is Clay. In both B/W and B2/W2 he's just such a cool personality and is actually involved with the affairs of his city, which was a cool theme with the gen 5 gym leaders. Also his character design is just awesome with that hat and those pants.
My favorite has to be Blaine. The high energy back and forth between Magmar and Charizard was massive for my brother and I. Plus, the dude fights over lava.
My favorite is Morty from gold/silver. I always liked ghost pokemon and it was nice to see a gym leader at an early stage of the game. Plus I believe that’s where you got shadow ball from as a tm reward and I always felt like that was a great ghost move
Honestly, my favorite has to be Elesa. My main reason is because of her relationship with Bianca, helping Biance by giving her the confidence to tell her dad that she can be a pokemon trainer. But all the Unova gym leaders are goated. Larry is a new favorite of mine, mainly for his vibe and aesthetic, the idea of a normal gym leader being a tired business man is such a flavor win tbh.
I remember Brock but I liked the Gymleader who had RegiRock ice and Steel he was so badass ... Thanks for bringing my Childhood memory... I Watched Pokemon perfectly only till D&P and watches Only few Episodes of B&W.
I would say with Sabrina . Psychic types were so overpowered back then. Her Gym with its teleporting puzzle, really felt like a mind-bending challenge. Plus facing her Alakazam was no joke it was fast, powerful, and could sweep teams if you weren’t prepared you should make her deck next
Iono has a fantastic use of terastallization. Brassius is a close second on that regard, but no other gym leader is as creative Gameplay wise as Iono is
Favorite would be sabrina, I love using a deck themed around her in ptcg too, snorlax and alakazam. Snorlax might seem strange but I’m pretty sure her was in her colosseum team.
My favourite gym leader is Flannery. Loved fire Pokémon a bunch growing up and her strategy was difficult to face growing up. Super iconic location and time of the game for me
For me, my favorite gym leader in anime is Sabrina. I'm a long time fan of the Alakazam line. Pokemon Crystal was the first game that was introduced to me, I'd say in that game, my favorite is Bugsy. I love Scyther and love it even more when I forst saw Scizor.
I love Koga. His battle in the first generation games was cool, his battle in the anime was also very interesting, and the guy was cool enough to be promoted to Elite Four member on generation 2. Koga is sick 😎
For me, my favorite gym leader is actually Raihan. I love double battles, way more than singles, and he was the first gym leader that double battled using strategy, unlike Tate and Lisa.

Definitely Blue (or Gary Oak from the tv Show), and for a number of reasons! 1st of all, seeing as the gold and silver were a continuation of the the red and blue storyline, being able to return to Kanto region was quite a big surprise, and when you finally reach Veridian City Gym... well one would wonder who would be the gym leader since Giovanni was taken out from being behind the criminal organization known as Team Rocket. Imagine my surprise to see that "Smell ya later" brat as your final gym leader. The nostalgia from losing to him again and again back in the pokemon league from the previous games was still fresh so it came as a nice surprise to be able to beat him again. Plus, back in the day, you were so used to each gym leader committing to a certain type, that reaching Veridian City in pokemon gold was a breath of fresh air. one last opponent, a nostalgic one and one who does not abide by the rules (aside the true final boss: Red)
For me, my favorite gym is actually Misty. She’s a fun character with nice interactions with her co-leads and some of the characters of the week, especially when she’s showing compassion for younger siblings.
Got a deck for you. Been having some fun with it… it can hit fast and it can annoying. Have made Mewtwo Ex decks rage quit when they couldn’t do anything. It is: 2 Articuno Ex 2 Omanyte 2 Omastar 2 Helix Fossils 2 Misty 2 Professor Research 2 Potion 2 Sabrina 2 X Speeds 2 Poke Ball (could swap out 1 for Giovanni or Red Card or something else like Lapras Ex).

Koga is awesome. Love his style, his type of choice (Poison all day BOI) i loved him in adventures, I love using Koga themed decks in Pocket, and I love that he was so cool he got a promotion in gen 2.
my favorite gym leader is a tie between Elesa and Skyla, I love their designs and the interactions with them in pokemon Black and White are great, Skyla saw an Injured Pokemon at Celestial Tower when she was flying her Cargo plane and went to help it, and Elesa is one of the Many gym leaders that help Bianca figure out her pathing by helping Bianca convince her father to allow her to continue her journey with her Pokemon. The Black and White Gym Leaders are all Cool though if I'm Honest.
Sabrina has always been my favorite. Introducing Psychic and ghost Pokémon was amazing as a kid. Plus Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar are just the best. Can you try and build a Viridian Forrest deck?
Oh its deffo gotta be Morty. As a ghost fan since gen 1 seeing a ghost gym get some representation was peek. Second favourite is Ryme because they combined ghosts and hip hop and when you combine my favourite stuff magic happens!

my favourite is jasmine from 2nd gen. she looks like a frail gentle girl but then uses steel type pokemon, steelix in particular which is pretty menacing to look at, lol
I’ve noticed a lot of weird decks the past day or two in the event. I’ve been going in with off-meta/fun/troll decks and I have seen some of the strangest decks imaginable. Some meta ones sprinkled in. As a side note, if you get mad because of bad RNG, draws, coin flips, matchup, or are going to lose, etc… please just concede if you don’t want to finish the match. The rage quit disconnect and making me sit there for several minutes is really rude.
Never was a big pokemon fan but giovani is my fav gym leader because of his cool leader type role in the anime and his variant is also my fav card in the game.
Favorite Gym leader? Blane!! That fight between Magmar and Charizard was epic. And now here Blane deck is very capable as well... rushing enemies in 2nd turn onwards

Hoenn has some of the most unique pokemon ever made! Claydol, Cradily and Armaldo being the best examples of how unique the pokemon are in Hoenn! I would be remiss if I didn’t mention his backup steel monster; Aggron! His team is full of weird looking but intimidating pokemon that has stuck with me for years! Love the content and keep it upppp

Norman because for the first time our pokemon protagonist has a Dad!!! Also his slaking fight was the first time I actually realized the power of normal pokemon. Slaking is a beast if not for his tyrant ability
