The only issue here with this deck is yes gengar ex ability is good but it takes multiple turns to set gengar up and by then your opponent will have already played a decent amount of there supporter cards early game, so gengar is most likely gonna come out mid or late game and by then it's too late

got lucky w/ 2 articuno ex pulls so I've been sweeping with that. i want to include the starmie line at some point, but i'm currently running 1 tentacool 1 tentacruel and a normal articuno in its place, and it's been working wonders.

I use a similar deck but I love slapping in a jinx instead of the hand scope which helps counter any decks that get lucky running misty

Just so you know, the current strongest variant of this deck runs a regular Mewtwo as a tank in order to help you set up your mewtwo without it taking damage, and it only has a 2 retreat cost. So it can be withdrawn with 2 x speeds. Can also be powered up in a pinch, especially if you manage to have 2 gardevoir set up by any chance. It also usually only runs 1 Sabrina and 1 Giovanni, for mons with 60/160 hp. Just drop the hand scope for the mewtwo and replace a Sabrina for a Giovanni and give it a shot.

Your second game couldn't the oponent sacrifice the zapdos while taking 100 from gengar and killing the mewtwo on the bench, and finish the game with pikachu ?

i will agree been playing this deck and later it gets boring as hell i switched to my marowak deck and let fate decide if im gonna do 160 , 80 or 0 damage its also pretty cheap to get going XD

Pikachu is still the best; there 5 different pikachu decks all with a better win record than Mewtwo. Also Pikachu can put best it’s weakness. There isn’t a good darkness deck to challenge psychic types. Now if We get a EX darkness deck on the next set it’ll be a different story.

I agree the Mewtwo can dish out big damages, however, I'll still go with Pikachu Ex's deck for this one. Unlike Mewtwo who need at least two turn with needing Gardevoir to be completed first. Pikachu only need his deck to have basics, and only 2 energy. By your second turn, your Pikachu is already clearing out the board.

I have most of the decks but my favorite one so far is def blaine and i think its severely underated. The only really rough matchups are starmie but you can handle the regular articuno decently well (of course if they dont highroll). I want to try Zard, blaine and mewtwo as my lineup for a conquests tournament as you can try to either win against it with mewtwo or just take the L if it happens as they cant use the deck again after

If you want to disable the opponents from playing supporters even more especially in early turns then swap clefable with Psyduck, just psyduck, his attack costs 1 colourless energy that deals 10 dmg but it disables enemies from playing supporters in their turn.

How does the meowth help the moltres/Zard deck? Its just another basic pokemon that decreases the odds of you getting a moltres to start. Seems pretty bad to me...

Second pokeball for articuno deck is redundant

Very surprising that Koga is lower when it won quite a few tournaments and it won the 1st invitational tournament also. Liligant doesn't work well because it works mostly well if you are in the second turn mostly for that extra energy and if you start first the energy you farm is probably too slow and also gets one shot by too many thing with the low hp it has even at it's next stage.

I love gengar and as much as its fun its nowhere near sufficient in the meta, unfortunately. I also feel like 1 xspeed isnt something u can afford because you dont have ramp and cant afford tempo loss. Maybe its potion u cut and keep ur mew2, just saying

I think a red card would be a good addition to this deck. I'd maybe even take it over, Giovanni. When they know gengar is coming, they are more likely to spam their proffessors research which you can then deny.

I’m offended to not see any golduck or cloyster in use. Cloyster is one of my favorites. My water deck is 2 golduck 2 cloyster, and then 2 water ex cards articuno starmie or lapras

Blaine getting disrespected, but it's an antimeta strategy. With Blaine, you one shot Pikachu ex and have a good match up into mewtew decks. It's just everything else you can struggle with. Especially misty decks

I think arcanine benefits from the pikachu meta. Being able to one shot pikachu ex is really valuable. From my experience in online matches, I tend to win more against other non-pikachu decks with charizard rather than arcanine

Exeggutor is just better than Lilligant, even with the ability to charge Venusaur in mid game, Lilligant is not good for having a good early game. Its based on the necessary decision to be taken on whether to invest energy into a lilligant or not. exeggutor is better because of the single energy use, you can just attach a single energy when you pull an exeggutor and just evolve it. Its just better for early game and the higher ho in both normal and ex card makes it a better tank. Currently there are two good tyoes of decks, 1. Quick aggro attackers and 2. Setup for big damage Lilligant struggles against quick decks and Venusaur has decent matchups with other cards who need setup. Here, executor is good against Aggro decks like Pikachu, it sometimes even ko's pikachu ex. Its great sustain for low investment, meanwhile it helps Venusaur in weakening enemies to a lower hp to make them one shot for Venusaur. Its synergy with Venusaur is too good. I play a single copy of Normal and ex exeguttor for even more flexible PlayStyle. And I will say that Venusaur is actually a pretty good deck, I win majority if times against Pikachu and it has decent matchup with Mewtwo.

Instead of clefairy/clefable line, I run zubat/golbat line against the Mewtwo meta. Also, I run khan instead of baby Mewtwo

Imagine having 2 Gengar ex, but only 1 Haunter and no Clefable. Couldn't be me.

Liligant attack is too expensive to charge, if you go first it's much better to start on executor because you can attack directly and no be passive, also you stall more time with executor to charge venusaur. Executor makes going first good vs really bad with lilligant

Imo Pika is top 1 and Mewtwo is definitely below that. Honestly, I'd even put Starmie up to tier 2 and above Mewtwo. Blane is overrated here, the Alakazam wheezing variant is probably in tier 3.

Not surprised it's not in the upper group. But I was getting on a good run with Just supporting Executor EX with Butterfree. That way the healer doesn't have to be fighting on the front lines. Gets downright immortal on the rare occasion you get double Butterfree on the backline!

I did 330 damage with a weezing, alakazam deck

I discovered the mewtwo ex gardevoir combo immediately upon playing the game and every single battle is either the same deck I have or a Pikachu deck. It's not very fun. opefully they add some more viable meta deck options soon.

I guess I'm glad I got those 2 Mewtwo EX including one inspired by the movie, because I had a feeling Mewtwo EX was kinda busted alongside Gardevoir. Also, why there's so many exeggutor EX on ladder? The deck isn't that good compared to Pikachu/Zapdos ex or Mewtwo ex.
