Wet here in NW England today when were out in our Ami that we collected yesterday, got a little steamed up inside but the fan did its job ok, as did the single wiper in clearing the rain; one discovery today is that the Ami doesn’t like going uphill, we’re glad there’s no rear view mirror so we couldn’t see the reaction of the driver of the car behind us! 😂
Great vid , nothing wrong with the sound , reference cheap household solutions for misting , don’t use washing up liquid. It stops misting but , when cars etc approach you at night , and road lighting , it blinds you with bad streaks of light , making it really hard to see . Stick with the rain product ( other products available) 😊😊👍
A perfect example of how well this little car works for short journeys, a petrol or diesel would hardly have warmed up and not very efficient. BTW the sound quality was fine Gary.
It is just good to see the Ami doing what it needs to do ie A to B transport as cost effective as possible but not needing to dress up as if you was going to war.
I used something called RainX on my side windows and it's great for keeping them clear. The rain beads up in so that when you start to move the wind blows them clear. Would recommend it.
I mentioned the acoustics of Ami in a previous video where I thought it sounded hollow and metallic. The sound in this video though was perfect, infact watching this on the big screen with decent sound almosts transports me into a live drive with Ami! Fantastic video, that 360 camera really is a treat for us and it's so enjoyable to be with you on the journey in Ami! True video reality in the Ami sense. Love the videos despite and loving the channel, good luck with the new job and thank you, thank you for making these videos for us.
I enjoyed the video, thanks. I can recommend Rain-X for your side and rear windows, avoid front screen as it can smear and obscure vision - I used to use it when I had a '77 VW Camper as it had no rear screen heater or wiper - it really helped.
This type of video's perfect - it allows me to vicariously own and drive an Ami (or at least be a passenger)! I'm visiting France just now - the other day, at late dusk, there was a car coming towards me - I could just make out its silhouette but its headlights immediately told me it was an Ami - the first I've seen in real life.
On a different note I have seen lots of comments about the hazard of the ami on the road. I dont see the issue, it is much easier to pass something going 25mph than it is 40 mph, also being small visibilty to pass is good, for sure a lot easier than a tractor :)
Hi. As an update…Ive just been notified by the dealership handling my Ami Tonic order that the vehicle is built and they have a chassis number which is great. This was confirmed by the Ami online team however even so they said they are 3-4 weeks behind delivery schedules at the moment which means I should now expect the vehicle most likely early January 2023. Not a problem.
Can't believe I've not passed by you and this great little not- car yet, given as we're near enough neighbours. Will toot when I do finally! Sound was fine.
Very satisfying to watch the Ami in action, which seems like all the car most people would need for short commutes. Great camerawork and I couldn't hear the fan.
@@ModernHeroes I wondered how you were making it rotate, it's a great effect. Sound was fine regarding the fan but the first few seconds were left side only and thereafter the volume was at varying levels, never very loud. I'll be interested to hear which must prevention product you recommend. 👍
Did you see the interesting video that showed that if the battery is virtually fully charged and you drive down a hill, the re-gen is disabled to prevent over charging the battery so you can go faster than 28? It was done in France and they got to 70km/h !!
Sound is fine: we might start complaining if you start doing Ami-based music vids, but for this type of film, perfectly acceptable. Enjoy seeing the Ami out in the wild.
This is great content! Of course it may be a standard commute but, for those new to EV's, like myself, this is very good background info. Please keep it up. Sound is fine; real world noises, road/wind noise and, possibly, fans add to the "ambience" Until recently, I have been delivering for Tesco and also, recently, acquired a Renault Kangoo ZE for local trips and commuting so this hit the spot exactly!
Great to see Ami working in the wet and as the cooler weather sets in how it will respond. The sound dropped slightly just before you went to start work but again I could hear all you said. The hard surfaces will reflect the sound so everything you say should be picked up. Rain X could be most useful on the rear windscreen I guess. I like these reak world day to day videos. Sound quality is fine with the external mic dude. Tim does well with his external in his Ami on Me And Mon Ami. Such a fun little car. Wonder if a normal USB fan although not heated may help with keeping air moving efficiently and help reduce steaming up?

Great vid. Audio goes very quiet at about 05:10 and recovers around 09:11. But quality is fine and I guess any background sound helps paint the picture of life with an Ami.
Great little commute video mate, nice to see the Ami doing the daily commute with no issues at all. Totally agree with you on Royal Mail, nice to see them start to go electric for the amount of stop start they do in the vans it makes great business sense.

@@ModernHeroes Hi Gary, perhaps you did not get my previous message. Yes picked up from Warners Tewkesbury. Haven't seen you around Gloucester yet, really enjoying the Ami experience. Had some strange rub marks on door mirrors on pick up so more on order. Terry
The audio is fine. I listen on (decent studio) headphones and everything sounds good to me, but do whatever's best for you; don't let an entitled RUclips audience bully you into spending your own hard-earned cash on kit to compete with millionaire content-makers who are more interested in being adored than in having anything interesting to say. I'm old enough to remember the days of dodgy AM radio and crackly analogue dials so I'm perfectly happy to use my tablet's volume button between videos. Up a bit, down a bit. Whatever. I'm an adult. I can cope. I don't expect anyone outside a professional broadcasting outfit to waste time equalising, compressing, boosting, balancing, maximising and normalising their audio for my benefit ("Because I'm so SPECIAL!") when it only takes me a second to adjust things for myself. I enjoyed this video, and suspect that Citroën UK will be pretty pleased with it, too. Its very ordinariness (no offence intended) is a good advert for the Ami. Buy it, then get on with your life. Isn't that what personal transport is for? As a reluctant cyclist [north of England] I'd love a micro EV, but they're far beyond my means. I ride about 12 miles every day, and it's hard to put into words how depressing it is to be lying in bed, listening to the hail rattling on the window and to know that in twenty minutes you'll be out there, soaked and splashed, splattered and battered in a freezing gale - It's even worse in winter. (Trad. Brit. joke.) As for the return journey - setting out in the gloom, squished into a soggy hi-vis jacket and laden with 40+lbs of groceries - well, I think being able to hop into a warm (-ish), dry (-ish) podule with two pedals that only go up and down and not round and round and round - that'd be my idea of luxury. Steamy windows? Yes, please. Er, and I mean that in a good way...🤭
a rainy, miserable Saturday...a bit less miserable sitting dry in the AMI...could be worse...on a Scooter, public transport...by foot. So far, you seem to go smoothly with the (traffic) flow - no harassment from other drivers like cutting off, tailgating or flashes .. 🤗 so far for the driving itself...will you have to deal with real winter conditions in a couple of weeks? Btw..huge portion of the wind screen not covered by the wiper it seems...🤔
I enjoyed watching the Ami in a real world situation. One thing I'm curious about, where do you charge it when it's raining? I've seen type 2 chargers being used in the rain but I believe the Ami has a three pin plug.
There’s a few groups where people are sharing their experiences. The one simply titled “Citroen Ami” probably has the highest concentration of UK expectant owners.
The audio was fine don't think i could hear the fan! Love this little car and really interested in getting one for small commutes. I have 2 teenage sons and was wondering if this can be driven on a CBT bike license?

About preheating: Is it possible to do while still connected? Go outside to start the heater some time before departure. Leave the charhing cable connected to lose less range while preheating. Or do you have to disconnect to activate the heater? Or will i stop charging if you start the heater? Maybe a video where you try different ways to preheat.
@@ModernHeroes Does it start to eat into the battery range or does the heater draw it's power from the mains? If the latter you could turn the heater to on, set the charge going, and then when the charge is finished the heater would come on.
