Yup, that's definitely a Ramp. Under different conditions, that would have been a lovely run and starting out under those conditions, you wouldn't expect to need the genset. Man that was Stoatin' at your place.
I only get near full range, about 44 miles. If i reverse my journeys exactly. I go up a couple of steep hills regularly, but always go back the same way. More random journeys are impossible to judge energy wise.
Hello, A bit off topic... I'm from Austria and I'm very interested in the vehicle. According to Stellantis, the Citroen Ami will be introduced in Austria in the first half of 2025. I've already seen most of the videos about the Rocks-e and Ami and various ideas for modification are buzzing around in my head. If you don't mind I'd like to get your opinion on some of them. 1, in the old 2CV, the sheet metal in the interior was taped with car felt for insulation (many campers do this on their self-conversions) this could also be done quite inexpensively on the plastic roof of the "trunk lining" and possibly on the floor shell. This would close some cold bridges and dampen the vehicle's noise as well as reduce the moisture somewhat. 2, a plastic plate could also be attached to the underbody so that a double floor is created under the footwell, this could also be insulated, which in turn reduces noise, cold and moisture rising from the ground. 3, it seems to me that there is space in the engine compartment on the passengers side for an additional battery that could power another heater, heated seat cushions... and various USB devices. You could charge these with a charger that "takes" the power directly from the charging input and thus charges the additional battery with each charge. With the appropriate capacity, you could possibly also recharge the drive batteries via the power connections on the engine while driving with a B2B charger. Points 1 and 2 would be quite cost-effective changes with little weight added. Point 3 is admittedly not very cheap, but would replace a 2 KW power station that many people seem to carry in the passenger footwell anyway. I would be delighted if you would think through my ideas and give me some feedback. Best wishes Reinhard
Hi Reinhard, I find that my Ami is best in the summer months for performance. It can get a bit too hot in sunshine so roof insulation might be useful. For cold weather use, an insulated and heated battery tray would be good. A diesel heater and warm air ducting to the battery tray could work. I have a 12V 50Ah LiFePo battery in the footwell and this can run many accessories and it also runs a 1kW inverter which runs a 250W desk fan heater which keeps the windscreen clear of mist. Unfortunately the main traction batteries cannot be charged whilst the car is driving. However several LiFePo batteries and a 3kW inverter could be installed to provide charging when stopped. There is quite a lot of space, in the rear section of the body, where additional batteries could be fitted.
@@DougsShed Hello Doug, thanks for your detailed answer, battery insulation would definitely be a good thing, but I think it will be difficult in terms of space. I've seen a few diesel heaters for the Ami on RUclips, but I've ruled that out for myself. I'am thinking of a 12V heating mat (camper floor heating) that has an additional battery, which, like yours, also feeds a heater for the interior. thanks and a Happy New Year Reinhard
@@DougsShed Can't wait! Also, Microlino is now available to buy in the UK. I put an order in and cancelled the Citroen Ami 😅 Top battery range is 178 miles.
really? are you new? get a bigger better battery, all that pretty car ain't worth the dust it's made out of without a serious power source, it's really the engine, the electric motor is just the transmission to the ground of the batteries power. so spend your money on the battery or save and carry extra batteries. electricity is the gas battery is the motor electric motor is the transmission
This video had a better plotline and drama than most modern films.
Ha Ha!

Yes it was!

Best I have ever done was 38 miles to the 3 mile warning.
Always hate to hear all the buzzing and beeping when you aren’t home. Like they say your mileage may vary 🏁😁👍
Hi Lloyd, nothing worse that a warning bleep from an engine check or ABS light. Usually means something expensive.

Hi I’ve just bought my ami and absolutely love it! I’ve been eating your channel for some time. Have you had any water ingress issues?
I sometimes get a little water tricking through the door seal. Glad the car has plastic floors and rubber mats.
There seems to be room for 280ah cells which would more than double the range
Unfortunately the Ami's battery and control system work on a canbus system and hacking them is beyond my pay grade.
Any more Ami POV videos coming soon?
I'm planning a longer trip!

@@Mr_ZeroFuel Unfortunately the Microlino is way too expensive. Dacia Spring is more in my budget range.
Perhaps the wipers use up the battery range.
Inclines use power, and reduce range... DUH...
You are not wrong!
