Thanks for another great review. I like the Bluetti kit, maybe if you have a chat to the technical folk there online they will have a resolution for that fluctuation and or cutting out.
Great video. We have a 1000w Bluetti. Using a 200w solar panel we charge it during the day, in the evening it runs everything in the house apart from the fridge.
I have a Bluetti EB70S 800 W and the portable 200 W panel. I don't have a whole lot to charge all at the same time in Monty the minivan, so it works for me. Since you're only using an AC plug, you don't need to push the DC on if you're not charging anything through the 12 V socket (cigarette lighter) or any of the USB slots. You could charge the power station whilst driving, with the car's 12 V socket, then, using pass though charging, use its 12 V socket to run your navigation. That's when you need to push the DC button. You can also charge everything else, while driving, using the USB slots. That way you have more power to put back into the car when you park. Give it a go. And more power to you. :) Jon in rural BC, Canada
That's a great demonstration, Tim. I've got to look at Bluetti to replace some of my older gear. Now if only some genius could invent some alternative to wires. Everywhere I work is draped with them.
Nice looking but mine has been so unreliable, sent back to be returned faulty several times. Look how many "refurbished" are for sale on line should give you a good idea how many are returned for refunds.
I'm so glad you have commented. Don't forget that, although neither the thumbnail and description mention it, this is either a paid promotion or supplied free in exchange for a review. Under those conditions it can't possibly be an unbiased opinion being shared here. Views like yours are very important to share.
Have you tried to mount solar panels on top of the Ami and plug it to the power bank while driving or when parking? With all the Sun you guys get there, it could really work out as a range extender. Would love to see a video with that. 🤗
Sadly you can’t charge the Ami whilst driving..and the net gain from solar on the roof (with all the issues that would cause in daily use) is why the only application I’ve yet to see for it is on airport amis and powering peripherals
The Citron Ami has a 5.5kw 48v battery the Bluetti has 1.12 kw so it will add about 20% to the range - it would be fun to transplant the electronic BMS onto 280ah cells and get 14 kw giving a range of 180km or 112mile in real money
@@MeandMonAmiYes, you don't get the full capacity out and you lose energy converting back to AC. I get 11 km out of my Ecoflow with 1.2kwh capacity. It fits perfectly in the luggage compartment.
A rather compact and versatile unit, relatively lightweight and with various charging options for multiple devices, might not be ideal for Elton, but for instance, when going camping, it performs perfectly.
As you're plugged into the unit via AC, why did you also activate the DC button when you've nothing plugged into the DC sockets? I have one of these.....I mainly use mine to charge up a mobility scooter that I store in a shed. Whilst I can lift this, I have a small folding hand truck, which I use when I do want to move it, so much easier.
But will it charge on solar automatically my behind the Ami seat Bluetti EB3A if left connected starts discharging as soon as voltage drops from the solar panel but the super massive Allpowers R2500 currently in the motorhome charges automatically with the same panel resting on the vans dash inputted a couple of % a day till fully charged.
@@MeandMonAmi yes it was a good offer I was planning to upgrade the batteries and inverter in the van and it cost a little bit more but gives greater versatility
Yes the ac180 seems to cut out after a certain time because of overload but if you plug it back in after that it Continues. I think I mentioned it in my review video
I understand that increasing your range is good, say from a radius of 1 to a radius of 1.25 or whatever, and that having auxiliary power for your AV equipment is also good, but I wonder if this entire dynamic is going to just go away, or at least undergo a major phase shift, when/if you buy an e-C3. Then you could have a Bluetti devoted solely to the auxiliary needs while the bigger and sturdier e-C3 takes care of the traveling bit.
@@MeandMonAmi I looked up ec3 and got many responses including cable connectors and a professional wrestler. But e-C3 is a car made by Citroen that is much bigger than an Ami. It looks so big that you might be able to camp inside the e-C3.

Brilliant.
My Ami only draws 1848 Watts max. Its a later model. It works fine on my Ecoflow Delta which is also an 1800w power supply.
Interesting…
is it a difference on different models?
Love Bluetti stuff. We use one in our mini camper alongside a folding solar panel. It's ace!
Yup we’ve used a few units and all very reliable.

Thanks. Our citroen Ami doesn't have a cigarette lighter slot sadly..
You chaps should check out Yoshino power stations with solid state batteries.
Probably the first product to use solid state (and safer) batteries.
Interesting I knew solid state was on the way. Isn’t it very expensive?

I know! Remember the dream of wireless charging!!
Hi, I keep seeing these new lighter weight more energy dense Power Stations become available. One able to power a small motor home for a short period.
They work really well if you get the right unit for your needs and the prices are dropping
Yes the capacitor based technology units are dropping. Want one for camping

I've never had a problem with mine, and I use it regularly.
It clearly states ‘paid promotion’ on screen at the start of the video!

I wouldn't seat under charging solar but if you don't mind cancers it's up to you.

In our expérience you won’t get 20% on any unit this size and we’ve trialled a lot but they are very worthwhile if you have the need..

Mister Me and Mister Boo, well yet another portable power plant, there's simply no stopping ya 😉 staying charged is definitely the name of the game 😂🎉
They just keep n coming!;
You should be able to set a maximum allowed draw on the unit. Or just have an electric car setting.

I bought a Digital charge reader, my uk ami draws 1840w peak, but that’s at 240v uk mains….
We get to just above 2000w
Thanks fore the video. So, how many extra kilometers will you get out of this device? Maybe I missed it in the video.
Tim great review1 You never answered my question about the new all electric Renault 5? what do you think of it? Stay charged men. 🚙⚡⚡
I like it! Was looking again this week
@@MeandMonAmi I wish we could get it here in America. I love it.
As you live in Nice you get quite a lot of Sun is it possible to fit solar panels to the roof of your Ami that will charge this Bluetti.
It is but the amount of charge from small panels never seems quite worth it to me
