- The Antioch Police Department has recently fired another officer, but this is not related to the department’s text messaging scandal. It’s connected to how the officer handled a traffic stop last year. Pete Suratos reports.

Firing a bad cop is like taking out the garbage by throwing it in your neighbor's yard. You haven't dealt with the problem you've just passed it on to somebody else.
Youve got it !!
Man, no one could have said it better. Thank you.
So true
You said it. Brains n integrity are in short supply these days. Took a month for them to investigate. Haha. What losers
I know -- They dont even solve the roots of evil problems%!!!!! It just keeps onbragging to other places!!!!!
Solution --- REVOKE POLICE LICENSE CERTIFICATE PLUS THEY MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO WORK IN ANY GOVERNMENT ENTITY!!!!!
How long would it take for any one of us to be in jail after assaulting someone?
It depends on who saw it and if that person wanted too press charges but fairly quickly 🤣💀
Police Officer...the only occupation when you break the law the worst thing to happen is getting fired
Same day
1 minute😅
I guarantee that if you assaulted a cop, they wouldn't spend a month investigating the incident before arresting you. Yet another example of cops being held to a lower standard than the average citizen.
How come the PROSECUTING ATTORNEY isn't filing FELONY ASSAULT CHARGES??? Any CITIZEN would have charges stacked on top of charges...
Because if the prosecutor goes after the cop, the prosecutor risks losing every conviction that cop was ever involved with. And prosecutors care more about their conviction record than the truth or integrity.
It’s because the legal system is corrupt. Prosecutors unofficially work for the police. Were they to start prosecuting them for their crimes, then the police would stop falsely arresting people to boost their conviction rates.
To all cops: As long as you fear integrity and accountability, you are NOT the good guys! End qualified immunity! Make each officer personally liable! It's POS tyrants like this that prove why you don't deserve it.
To be clear, this is not an insult. This is a challenge to any IF all good cops to help change the whole corrupt system.
I know people love to say this but this is a bigger problem than just street level cops. The people hiring and refusing to hold officers accountable for their actions are the biggest problem. It’s ingrained into police culture and our judicial system for cops to treat people like this. And until the leadership makes changes to the way policing works, this type of stuff is going to continue to happen.
I had a accident and called them they never showed up then they called me back almost 6 hours later asking me do I still need them what a joke on me
@@paulchandler9060
Yeah. You see so many auditing videos where 2-3-4-5-6-8 cops show up for " person with camera" and the cops say " We got a call so we had to respond" , but other times no officers show up for a genuine emergency. At least, not promptly.
I work as a paramedic and, despite mostly good interactions with the various law enforcement departments that I interact with, I don't think that I have ever gotten 3-4-5-6-8 cops for EMS calling for help from police. Sometimes no one shows after 15-20 minutes and we have to just deal with it. But , take a camera to many police departments or city halls and they are there in 5 minutes, 3-6 deep, because " We got a call".

For anyone WITHOUT a badge, this is known as assault/battery.
And when you have a badge, it's known as taking a vacation before finding another job in the next town.

Why are those local “men” worried about the number of police in the department? Aren’t they men? Can’t they handle themselves, or do they need to call other men to protect them? This country is in decline.
Did you see the dog Juan had at the park? Poor guy can't even handle Raspberry Schnapps. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Huh?
They were about to go in to Uvalde but they decided not to for officer safety
So the Police State is telling an ELECTED official that he's not privy to the goings on in the cop shop? Did I hear that right?
Yes apparently the mayor isn't allowed to have details of the police department which is yet another indicator of why this police department and many others are out of control. Little to no oversight, they investigate themselves and give slaps on the wrist. This cop was fired and I guarantee he's already working at another Police Department just down the road

Don't just fire him. Pull his certification IMMEDIATELY and ban him from ever getting certified again. Don't let him get hired at another precinct so he can do it all over again. STOP THE INSANITY!!!
Firing him should trigger a post certification hearing. They're open to the public but it's not something they advertise.

You forgot cream filled.
Mayor NOT privy to personnel issues? Really? Just who do these cops think they work for? This is a problem not just in Antioch, but widely across our nation. We, the people, need to take back out police departments from the cops and their union.
Just dissolve this department and start over from scratch. It’s not just a few bad apples. And you know the arbitrator will give the cop his job back in a year or so.
Start firing these bad cops and charging them when the assaults occur. Thn find better cops.
Dissolve the city and start over. Antioch is a shit hole. And guess why? LOLOL!!

Nice to give him a month paid vacation before firing him
And the video of the traffic stop?????
Former Officer Nutt was terminated because body worn camera video showed he struck a man several times after he arrested him. The Prosecutor’s office is in possession of all reports and videos and will determine soon if Nutt should face criminal charges.
This is where we find out if the prosecutor is dirty too.
Or dirty enough to rig a high profile case😅 I can almost guarantee if this wasnt in the press what would happen.✌
Check back in a year I’m willing to bet he will sue and get his job back.
He already has a job in another police department.
He already has offers from other departments.
where is the bodycam
When seconds count, police are minutes away. They are useless. Fire the police!
Or in the case of Uvalde, Texas, the cops will stand around for 90 minutes while children get murdered.

His mouth is moving .
Should be imprisoned for all the felonies and capital felonies he committed......
I would be more worried about bad cops on the job
Only one way to deal with cops like this.

Officer Nut didn’t think the law applied to him.
🙌🏻 thank you to the officer who pulled him over.
Officer Nut would have never been able to stop for a child or another driver on that very dangerous road.
This is why i say the captain should be held accountable for the officers under them
Poor Rick and Juan. They are probably in constant fear for their lives, even when they are out in broad daylight. How pathetic.
😅😅😅
When found guilty of a crime they should have their qualifications of becoming a law enforcement officer in all 50 states for the rest of their lives
Fired means he will be working for another department and doing the same things.
They saw the officer beat the suspect so they fired him.
Not just bad apples its the bottom of the basket and every apple in it .
Every police review need to be judged by jury of peer and court outcome need to be transparent. Not just, he is one of our guys so we protected him under qualified immunity and he will be hired at another police station 5 miles away under another county police department and that the cases are buried due to "on going investigation" and then later "forgotten" in the city.

Sue the fired officer. No qualified immunity now.
Cops would be well advised to start paying attention, because the public is. The free ride is over. You're not allowed to do whatever you want anymore. Less and less people worship the badge and anyone wearing it.
DOZENS THEY MEAN HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS OF THEM.
Good he deserves worse and never be able to be a cop anywhere… So sick of these scumbag cops like this.
Hopefully an honest department will grab this officer.
For the amount of officers on the scene giggling, it doesn't look like they are short staffed
'The city is now staffed by only 34 officers, which is a concern to residents'.
Why would you be concerned that the other corrupt, dangerous psychopaths are not patrolling the streets?
The Mayor and all elected people of that city are FOR SURE entitled to PD discipline details and files. Contact the attorney general's office AFTER the chief is fired.
Nothing like 'passing the buck' to not fix the problem.
for some strange reason unknown to those trained in observation and detection, nobody wants to be a cop today.
that ultimately means that the cops who are now being hired would have been rejected in the past.
think things will improve that way?
going to get a lot worse in the next few years.
What? Many cops being fired have been on their departments for 10-15 years or more.
That's absolutely not true. Police departments have ALWAYS hired thugs. Only weak bullies tend to become police officers. This job attracts them.

Antioch is a s-hole. I lived there for a few years. The kids walking to high school get regularly robbed at gunpoint. A family had a little argument across the small street where I lived and they started shooting each other.
It's a s-hole. Before Antioch we were in Daly City. Moving the kid to Antioch school system was like falling off a cliff. At the orientation, the principal pointed to the guards on the walkways on the second floors, and said "these are you first line of defense". No kidding, that really happened. That is how bad the schools are due to the poor (often nonexistent actually) parenting culture. The parents are either incarcerated, or corner boys rapping about ho's and selling dope.
The whole corrupt department needs to be investigated by the Department of Justice
Another one bites the dust!
Not really because he will go to work at another Police Department just down the street.
I wonder which police department somewhere else will just hire him without caring what he's done.
I’d like to see the body cam.
Any cop that is fired should have there law enforcement credentials revoked and banned from being a cop anywhere else
You could start by not letting your cops investigate themselves.
Every time I investigate MYself I find no wrongdoing too.
Get a citizens review board where the citizens actually know and understand the law and our rights and are not involved or related to the police department at all.
That way the cops can't stack it with their cronies and boot licker police supporters.
They fill the oversight committees with bootlickers
Why do they always try to call it a use of force violation. Let's call it what it is an assualt and charge them like every other citizen.
The Mayor didn't know about the firing. Who really runs that city then?
Wow you see what that cop did 😮 crazy
Justice when their fired but if released means nothing then no accountability
Who the hell does this police chief think he is? The mayor of the city ABSOLUTELY has the right to have access to the actions of the police department. Police department is not its own private entity.
So many thugs, so little time. Never help a cop. Too many cops now. 34 cops is too many.
he will just go somewhere else no punishment whatsoever.
id rather have no cop come if i called instead of a bad one. minor traffic enforcement needs to be cut back drastically if not eliminated altogether. too many of these stops are escalated over nothing and a person is needlessly injured or worse.
Fired but not charged.
I commend the Chief for firing that officer. In previous news reports, even that mayor has said they have help from the County and CHP in patrolling until they get their numbers back up. So really the main threat to citizens there is any bad officers left on that department.
The violent crime is usually commited by the police not the citizens.
These cops just can’t do their jobs right. They should have fired him and then prosecuted him
Floriduh will hire this guy and pay him a bonus.
What are the odds the victim was black, I say 2 to 1.
The meaning of "better communication" means helping cover their own asses and not having things go so public.
He is probably already working at another dept!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How does the Police Department keep anything from the Mayor? Who do they work for?
The Mayor and the City council need to fix that problem. Kills me when police departments act like they're independent agencies from the rest of the city they work for.
Fired and immediately rehired
No bodycam video?
And they pay for law suits.
They always get a slap on the wrist.Nothing else.
Gladiators belong in a coliseum not on the streets with average folks living their lives.
YO MAYER you are the boss this buck stops with you
He'll get hired somewhere else.😡😡😡
The police labor union and the criminal justice industry have been telling the public “crime is up” as far back as 1970. After over a trillion dollar poured into increasing law enforcement personnel, equipment, and salary these special interest groups are still crying out the same message. The gig is up. Law enforcement industry should not be made to be the new cottage growth industry.
Only in government are you rewarded more money for failure.
And they gave him an excellent referral letter so he can get on with another cop shop.
Fire all police officer in that city let people fen for themselves
They do need a police departments they need s bigger morgue.
Good.
It shouldn't take a whole year to fire his ass
Unless they decertified the cop, firing him is pointless, since he’ll just go to another city or county and get another job and continue his abuse of citizens.
Well with one of the CRIMINALS being fired , the crimes should start dropping. That is until the unions get him his job back....
Now they should go afyer his certification. End the his terror. Those that eere texting should also have complaints filed against thier certification and clean the streets of thugs. Misconduct, hate crimes, all grounds for desertification. Turn them in to California POST for revoking their certification. Dont need to be cops. Mayor can request investigation by POST and get them decertified using the evidence they have.
Not enough cops patrolling= less criminals on the street. Not going to be missed.
Every use of force must be examined by a neutral 3rd party with the power to fine, terminate, and charge criminally. Police must be held accountable for every time they draw a weapon or more intense uses of force.
No point firing a bad cop if you don't charge them with the crime they committed
And if you don’t revoke their certifications. They just get rehired in a different department.
Defund the Mayor!
He didn’t keep any information from the mayor. The mayor is trying to exert more control over the police so they’re picking this one moment in Time to say you didn’t tell us about this. Why would they the police chief is in charge of firing and hiring
Florida will hire him
Revoke police license certificate toooo!!!!!
