What is the reason for having a constitution if we are unable to hold the police accountable when they break it? They should be charged with treason when they do that cause they are betraying this great country and if they continue on this path they would transform it into a backwards police state and they would love to do that.

I had the same thing happen. Pulled over in the first safe place like 100 yards away, I got lit up in a construction zone with open ditches and workers to my right so I put my hazards on and went to the first parking lot in eye sight. Lady was pissed, it almost went south until a senior officer showed up and took over. Scary part was she had her hand on her gun the entire time, second cop saw that and dismissed her. Went to jail for an old traffic warrent🤷 but the cool cop put my pistol in my trunk and drove my car to a parking lot that didn't close so I could get it back after night court and took me in to custody with no handcuffs, got let out four hours later and was able to retrieve my property. Much respect for second cop.

Watch the video where the cop actually arrests and puts in handcuffs a fireman who is in the middle of helping an emergency medical patient because he would not move the firetruck blocking one lane on the highway to protect the first responders from the traffic (which is a basic safety procedure all firemen follow). THEN watch the video where a similar situation is occurring on a highway and some crazy driver slams right into the firetruck which saves the lives of the first responders.

If your answer was even remotely close to a bar then all he has to say in court is "your honor he admitted to coming from a well known drinking area and there was an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle... This gave me "reasonable suspicion" enough to extract him from the car to conduct a sobriety test".
If your answer was even remotely close to an area known for buying/selling drugs or guns then he will start down the route of this person could have purchased, or is carrying guns or drugs.... His next question will be...
Cop: Where are you heading to?
If your answer is once again remotely close to an area known for buying/selling guns or drugs he then has built even more "reasonable suspicion" to follow through... At this point his next question will be...
Cop: Do you have any guns, drugs, or nuclear bombs in the vehicle? (they throw in the joke to trick you into relaxing and letting your guard down)
Here they can do whatever they want... If you are honest and say "no"... then they will say you are hiding something... If you get defensive and say "why the heck would you ask me that?" they will say that you are hiding something... Lose lose.

@Michael Sciortino :: the Fifth Amendment doesn't apply. A traffic citation is an infraction and not a crime in most States. An infraction is a civil offense to which there is no jail time. Certain questions you are required to answer. Like why are you on your cell phone? Is this your correct address on your license? Why is the address different on your vehicle registration? Why didn't you pull over to the right when I activated my lights and siren? You can answer it then or you can answer it in court. Your attitude then may keep you from getting a citation. Morons. It's RUclips lawyers like you that get other people in trouble. Unless you have committed a crime and you are being interrogated regarding your involvement in that crime the police don't have to give you your Miranda Rights. That's the difference along with the fact that an infraction is a civil offense and not criminal in most States. Rethink your position or drive at your own peril. When you act like a dick you'll be treated like a dick. A simple speeding ticket may suddenly turn into a little more closer look at your vehicle and the officer notices that your tires are bald. The tint on your windows is too dark. The bass thump could be heard from outside of your vehicle violating a city ordinance. That very well could be a misdemeanor. See how it works? Play stupid games, Win stupid prizes. You would be surprised how much your attitude plays and how the officer plays.

BTW, the one ticket I have gotten in my over 45 years of driving was when I was in the left-hand lane of a two lane city street (speed limit was 45 and I drove this street every day after dropping my daughters off at daycare). There were several semi-trucks in the right hand lane, however, one of them that directly next to me, immediately started merging into my lane. He left me no choice but to enter the yellow dotted center divide turn lane, and when I saw a car approaching from the opposite direction to turn left in front of me, I immediately sped up and merged back into the lane I originated in. Just my bad luck, after I moved over to the right lane and was clear of all the trucks, I saw a motorcycle cop out of the corner of my eye. About 1'2 a mile later, he pulled up behind me and lit me up. I did not pull over on the road I was on, even though there was a small shoulder, because we both would have been in a close proximity to the right lane, where all the semi-trucks were approaching. I instead found the next side street and pulled over once I found enough room. Initially, the officer asked me why I did not pull over immediately when he turned on his lights. When I explained to him that it was not safe for either of us because of how narrow the shoulder was and how many trucks drive on the street in the right hand lane every day, he thought for a few seconds, and then thanked me for being so considerate. It did not get me out of the ticket for doing 55 in a 45, however, even though I fully explained to him what caused me to drive that speed and then merge from the turn lane to the right lane so suddenly. I have never heard of a motorcycle officer letting anyone off with a warning.🥲

Police associations are constantly advising drivers to pull over where it is safe. Since the gentleman was in the left turn lane, it was not safe to pull to the right across an intersection. It's also illegal to do so. Add to that that pulling to the right from a left turn lane is a dangerous action, because no driver would be expecting such a maneuver.
Now let's talk about all those other cars in the oncoming traffic. They should have stopped when they saw the lights and heard both the siren and the horn, but they didn't. And what if one of them had been turning left. They would not have expected the vehicle to sudden make a lane change and go straight through the intersection...BECAUSE IT'S ILLEGAL TO DO SO!
Seriously, the drivers attitude has nothing to do with entitlement. It has everything to do with the confusion the officer created AND the attitude he displayed from the start.
Officers are taught to let drivers a certain amount of travel to find a safe spot to pull over. I've seen this so many times that that it's the norm. Across the intersection to the right was not a safe place; the officer was standing in the lane of traffic. This officer was so wrong.
So, go ahead and say thus guy was an entitled jerk fo doing what any other driver in the country would have done, because that's what we're told to do.

@@je.9793 you're missing my point, if that cop had any road safety training he wouldn't have gone after him like he did, it doesn't matter whether he had his lights flashing or not what that cop did was to put other road users in danger, if anything with his haste to catch him and give him a ticket his driving was worse than the bloke he stopped, he didn't even try and educate him on the dangers of speeding

@@littlemissy2883 he didnt do anything that was extremely unsafe. I agree he probably shouldn't have sped that fast, but given the road conditions, there was no additional danger added to what he did. Speeding isn't that dangerous, and honestly, 25 is slow as shit, so I don't blame the guy for going 40. 40 isnt fast. I dont think the cop put anyone else in danger.
I do think it is ironic that he pulled someone over for speeding, but had to go at a faster speed to catch that person to tell them not to speed. Personally, anytime I see a cop speeding in the direction I'm going without lights on, I match their speed and follow. This officer did have his lights on, which alerts other drivers. So.it really isn't too dangerous.

@@je.9793 if it's 25 speed limit, surely it's 25 for a reason and in the UK if we get pulled for speeding cops don't usually give tickets out they try and educate us about the dangers of speeding but if we do get a ticket, we are given the option of either except the fine and points on our lisence or go on a speed awareness course, but in the US it seems if you're caught it's instant fine and no explanation as to the dangers of speeding especially where there is a low speed limit

@@littlemissy2883 once you get ticketed, depending on the speed, you can contact the court and request defensive driving course in lieu of going to court and its usually a lesser fine.
As for the education part, you really don't need to be told why speeding is wrong. I feel like, in most cases, its not so much that the speed is dangerous, just that its above the posted sign. For example, in NY, the fastest speed limit I've seen is 65, but you can safely travel 75 on most highways. I dont think you really get dangerous speeds until you start pushing 85/90, but thats because I'm from Texas. It also depends on toad conditions, traffic conditions, etc, but I feel most vehicles today can safely travel 80mph on most highways. As for 25mph, unless you are driving in an active school zone, that is too slow. The ability to brake at 25 vs 40 is not much different. Most residential areas are 30. Mine where I live is 15 and I think its ridiculous.

If the officer had any proper training or significant experience he would "light-em-up" AFTER the motorist was safely through the intersection and in a place where there was room to safely pull over.
All he accomplished was to spook and confuse the driver in the middle of a busy intersection.
With that said, the motorist was correct to assume the Police car was on an emergency call and trying to get around him in a hurry...

there is no state or federal law requiring an officer to contact or summon a superior when requested. that action is reserved for the officer if he/she believes he needs assistance. any problems you have with the officer or procedure should be presented in court or in the form of an official complaint after the incident is over. equally false is the belief that a female officer is required to frisk/search a female suspect or detainee
