I'd love to see a remake of the the first game that fixes a lot of the exploits/bugs and adds versatility to the gameplay while retaining all of the music, the atmosphere and overall feel of the original version.
This is of such insane quality... Can you guys remember being young and playing Diablo 1? I can. Such things just don't exist anymore. Hail Blizzard North.
When I was a kid I was absolutely scared of the caves. I would rush stairs as soon as I could find them. That sound of a goat and baby crying, the distorted bass, combined with the claustrophobic atmosphere and plants on the wall gave me chills.
This game's soundtrack is a masterpiece, and this is by far the most unsettling track. It evokes terror, despair and madness, all at once. If they are truly serious about recapturing the spirit of this game in Diablo 4, they have to go back to the dark ambient genre for the soundtrack. Moreover, the player should feel weak and underpowered during the first single player playthrough. Let multiplayer be about superpowers and flashy items and single player about survival horror, similar to the first game.
Given the planned high online interaction weaved into the game, I'm already concerned for that possibility. "Embrace the darkness" was their lingo, and yet I don't think they can, certainly not anymore. Even if they did, it would be more along the lines of 2, not the original, which was a deviance from the beginning in the first place.

This was a cool moment in the game because it was the first time the environment changed from the gothic, cathedral/dungeon look, besides a minor quest involving poison. That's moaning. Someone's nut got drained.
maybe khazra moans, because there are many goatmen in the caves
*Wirt chilling by shortcut to the caves*
good. thumb up emoji
"Oh shit.." - me when i entered into the caves for the first time
I would watch my brother play as the warrior who becomes the dark wanderer in following game back then. I was on my own come middle/high school to sit down and play through. The ost for the game rules.
I realized I still have a copy of the game...I know what I am doing tonight :)
You allways knew... shit is goin crazy when you reach that point of soundtrack.
very creepy.
When I entered the caves the first time, seeing Slayers coming at me while that heavy guitar starts blasting I thought "damn this is getting SERIOUS now!" The progression and atmosphere in this game is so well made.
Hated enemies for this stage are (forgot the name, but I’m just gonna describe em’), demons shooting lightning, f*ck! Those enemies were annoying AF…
BLEGHHH!! BLOORG!!
i was a child when i play this game like many of you i think and it was very nice to discover a game like this i remember i ve played the demo a lot with the butcher "ha.... Fresh meat!"
Anybody else remember being twelve years old & preparing to battle a horde of acid spitters to this jam? & forgetting to save.
Lol i remember monsters names of illusion weaver, hell stone, succubus, snow witch, etc i don't like lizard monster. They cast only lightning and move... and they had powerful melee attacks.
"I am not a milk maid!" -Many the sorcerer on cows
1:07 ... the music that plays in my head on the way to work everyday
When the boss wants to talk to you... hahaha
hahah- watch out for the demons on the highway, but remember you must save Sanctuary. Good bye my friend, go away and do your job ;)
@@Fu_Mao 😂😂😂😂
I tried to use a bit of this in a short, when it peaks with the wail. But the quality is pretty bad by that point. The peeps don’t know how good the track is.
WTF is that sound 2:50
A lot of people say that music in Diablo 1 is directly from hell
***** Well you're facing forces from the hell itself. So is pretty fitting.
Valentin Morozov there is two voices from 2:15 to 3:44 (male and female, like they were having sex). Let's appreciate the context: the background music, that sounds like something really disturbing over all act.
2:50 is a lamenting voice of a man, mixed with a gutural one, 1st the man's, 2nd de demon's (like the man is being transformed, with no turn back time).
So, one interpretation would be a fall of that man, probably a scene of rape (maybe incestus)

To my ears, it's a human victim getting his soul consumed by a succubus somewhere. Imagine feeling orgasmic as your soul is slowly immolated and consumed... that's savagely gothic.
