It's so haunting...full of mystery and atmospheric. Reminds me of the rocks, the creek and the graveyard near the village, with that gloomy-sunset feel. Feels like autumn.
I don't even care about being young again (maybe because I'm still just barely at the end of 20's). I just want to go back to the 90's and experience it all over again as if it were the first time. The games, the music, the tech, the culture. God, so much nostalgia. I'm pretty sure the moment I try to load up a website with a 56k modem connected to a phone I'll regret wanting to do it, but still!
Diablo 1 is the best of the series IMHO. The atmosphere was pretty dark and the gameplay was damn fun. D2 was great but the dark feel wasn't as much as the first. D3 unfortunately threw everything out the window.
I always loved this theme... so creepy. Back in the day when I was a kid I was amazed at how this game was "different" every time I played it (random dungeons), I've never knew why there aren't too many games that work this way. For example, it'd be awesome if for example Elder Scrolls saga had this system.
Oh yes, every time you went through the Labyrinth, everything was always different and had it's own different unique challenges too! Was never really an Elder Scrolls fan but, I would play it more, if it had Diablo's formula. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for staying nerdy!
This game was influenced by an old game called Rogue, which inspired a genre called Roguelikes. One of the defining traits of a roguelike is random generation, so that everytime you play the game you get a brand new world, changing everything about how the game can be played and what experience you might have. You should check it out! I'd recommend Cataclysm: DDA to start out with, if you like that then you can cut yourself deeper in the genre. The best news about it? Cataclysm DDA, and many other Roguelikes, are entirely free!
This soundtrack is yes, probably the best EVER made ... EVER EVER. I couldn´t think of anything I would add or take from this piece. a Masterpiece , no doubt. Let´s praise the good old Diablo I times. (My personal favourite, and will always be).
Oh man, long years ago, i remember me playing this, and i was afraid to enter the catacumbs, not because demons or shit like that, just because this song stops
Soo nostalgic guys, I can remember the days of spending the entire summers in dark rooms ac turned down super cold and a case of dew and just playing this game or starcraft!
It's funny how when you're young, you just play all the video games you have and generally speaking, can have fun with all of them. You really have to go back and take off your nostalgia goggles to see that most really don't stand the test of time, but one or two absolutely do. Diablo is more perfect and effective as a video game than 90% of what has come since. Not because it's graphics are great, though they still look very nice. Not because the music is memorable and beautiful, though it is. Not because the story or the gameplay are anything to write home about. But because every minute of the game drips with atmosphere and you're made to feel a very specific foreboding but grim determination.
this ost is so cool bring some good memories i love the church of tristram and the dungeons is so fuck nostalgic "i dont have spell ready" ohooooooooooo
So sad the last LAN party I had was over 13 years ago.. Maybe I should reunite the old clan..LAN parties were the best.. Oldschool RTS RPG and FPS games were the bomb
Why you gotta make me get all sentimental man? I remember the days back before the Diablo 2 battle.net servers were filled with nothing but bots, and you have thousands of people playing in North America alone at any given moment.
Matt Uelmen made this happen for Diablo I and Diablo II + Lord of Destruction. Be sure to know his name if you are such a fan of this OST. I just hate it that he did not finish his work for Diablo III.
+partykrew666 Yes it is, i never knew diablo 1 was on the playstation lol. trust me you would have wanted it on pc. so you could play hellfire when it came out 2 years later
Lol Very true actually, you can always level up high and restart your game with the same character. The game changes however, in the later levels the monsters are stronger and hit harder. Not much of a difference if you're leveled significantly but still fun none the less!
I love how this track can stand alone without a game and just be a fantastic track. Thats when you know what you're listening to is genius.
Not to mention there is a mental refreshing sense it brings, outside of it being a video game track.

I can't help but shed a tear of nostalgia. Diablo and Diablo II were so awesome.
What really hurts, is that I still have my disk for Diablo, but my new gaming PC doesn't have a disk drive lol.
My bed time music for years!
This and resident evil saveroom music just make me think so fondly of some memorable times. Sigh
I stayed awhile and listened
So much spirit in this song....brings back very fond memories.
as a hobbyist music composer i can definitely say, THIS IS JUST INGENIOUS!
Did I mention how awesome it is to share this awesome piece of music, with my fellow nerds? :)
Such a big piece of my childhood. this song is a,masterpiece and a part of history in the gaming world. dam n good song to match the game.
This is a masterpiece. So many sounds combined together in a perfect rhythm.
you can literally feel the cursed decay in the town.. so unreal
This music is sheer perfection. It's rare to have a work of art tear at my soul like this. I've not heard anything like it, outside of Diablo.
One of my top ten soundtracks of all time.......
Awesome!
Best video game soundtrack ever made by far. Maybe not as recognized as Mario or Zelda but as far as pure mood and melody go. The. Best. Ever.
Always came for the game and stayed for the sound ^-^
Memories, going around in Tristram! On my good old 486 dx100 🤘
I want to hear this music again for the first time , god damn the feels. i want to be young again FeelsBadMan

This music hits me right in the feels.
Really awesome track
Stirs the imagination into places you never thought existed
Hauntingly beautiful.
This song gives me the feels. I never played Diablo 1 or 2 but something about this song just gives me a feeling of love I guess.
I'm glad it does :)
+Juggalo972 whoop whoop

Poor Farnham... can you really blame him for drinking so much after what he encountered beneath the Cathedral?
I'm super fuckin baked and this is the best thing to listen to
Did you record these, or extract them from the game CDs? Thanks for sharing!

Hold up... Is everything after 5:30 part of the original score? I had the PSX version and never heard this part...
partykrew666 This version is actually on the second Diablo game, I added it as a Diablo track simply because of it's connection to the first game.
ahh, makes sense
+partykrew666 Yes it is, i never knew diablo 1 was on the playstation lol. trust me you would have wanted it on pc. so you could play hellfire when it came out 2 years later
6:40 the best part starts!
Extremely monotonous game, but the music made it a classic.
Indeed, I just bought it off Amazon and enjoying this game all over again. :)
If you level up a lot, you can basically beat the shit out of the skeletons with your fists... lol, so I was told.
Lol Very true actually, you can always level up high and restart your game with the same character. The game changes however, in the later levels the monsters are stronger and hit harder. Not much of a difference if you're leveled significantly but still fun none the less!
Thank you all... I needed this. Lol.
