Being born at the end of '98, and having a nerdy grandpa, I was introduced to this game when I was only 5-6 years old, got to play it on my own pc at age 7. Never forget those days. Ever. I grew up playing this game alongside other legends of a game, but this is definitely the one that shaped my tastes most. Gothic style, dark, fantasy, melancholic, epic, a tale of development and earned, deserved victory. For music, Diablo uses literally that 3 genres I'm grown to, being classical, other times acoustic, and then rock/metal. Big part of my personality originates here... that's why I always shed tears hearing this music even after 14 years, though I never really stopped to listen to it/play the game in the first place. To this day, I enjoy playing Diablo 2 and 3 with friends and relatives, but it's mostly D2 for obvious reasons I've read so far. It fits well with the starting camp - the characters are the remains of their community and culture, trying to survive and carry on in the darkness. Around them are the broken memories of the lands they occupied, now a tainted, inhospitable wilderness.
God... the part from 3:40 ~ 4:04 is SO soothing for me. It's just inexplicably beautiful. The underlying bass strings provide a perfect foundation for such a somber tune, and the way that acoustic guitar glistens and glides so effortlessly and caressingly all along the top of this piece... it just makes me feel so at peace with the earth. I am Akara, High Priestess of the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye. I welcome you traveler to our camp, but I'm afraid I can offer you but poor shelter within these rickety walls. You see, our ancient sisterhood has fallen under a strange curse. The mighty citadel from which we have guarded the gates to the east for generations has been corrupted by the evil demoness Andariel. I still can't believe it, but she turned many of our sister rogues against us and drove us from our ancestral home. Now the last defenders of the sisterhood are either dead or scattered throughout the wilderness.I implore u stranger, please help us,find a way to lift this terrible curse and we will pledge our loyalty to you for all time. May the Great Eye watch over you.
I come back to this theme from time to time. It's a small remembrance of my childhood. Simple times as a kid snuggled up in a blanket on the weekend getting absorbed by this dark atmosphere. How I miss those days now
My brother used to play this game a lot and this was the song that I heard most often. I got addicted to listening to it because it's just so dark and mysterious and has a classy Film Noir kind of feel to it. Brilliant track that was way ahead of its time and still makes for some great memories.
I still remember the very first time I was playing this game and then the electric guitars and the music hit me like a trcuk and left a print for the rest of my life what an amazing sound track!
Completes normal: "Well that was hard, I wonder if nightmare is hard..." Me enters nightmare with all the gear: "With this gear I will be invincible!" Me enters cold plains... Cries like a girl running away into the waypoint.
The best music for those depressing, gray, rainy winter days. I can almost see the fallen walking amongst the trees when I'm out for a walk with this playing.
Never, in all of my 31 years, has a song given me such powerful goosebumps and shivers. Even after beating the game every which way, I still return to and love it dearly.
I was born for this.. i have 20 years old, i have begin D2 at 9 years old, and i never stop, and i always remember when i don't move in the encampment, and i go to eat, to dring, to smoke or never and always this fucking perfect song in back.. Thank's Blizzard to sell dream ! D2 From France !
My first game CD ...back in 2001 when I accidentally purchased it and it became a lifetime memory. And Barbarian was my favourite character. 1.44 part was maximum played in Akara's ⛺ tent
Leaving the Rogue encampment for Lut Gholein was such an ordeal, knowing you won't come back during the journey and you won't hear this gorgeous music again unless you go back by yourself
First time I played this game I was 4 years old. I was stuck in the first act and my uncle who let me play it on his computer couldnt read his book because I was always calling him and asking him for advice for the missions. I remember I got shocked when I saw all those lightnings when the gate to Tristram was opening. It was just too epic for me that time.
Ever since I first played diablo, I've been in love with this song. It brings back so many memories of staying up all night killin' things. *sigh* Good times... Thanks for the upload!

My brother used to play this game a lot and this was the song that I heard most often. I got addicted to listening to it because it's just so dark and mysterious and has a classy Film Noir kind of feel to it. Brilliant track that was way ahead of its time and still makes for some great memories.
I majored in Diablo II my fall semester of sophmore year of college. GPA 2.3 for engineering, but an A in whomping Rakanishu.
Back when Blizzard's games wasn't casual.
20 years.... like

fossile
I still remember the very first time I was playing this game and then the electric guitars and the music hit me like a trcuk and left a print for the rest of my life what an amazing sound track!
Completes normal: "Well that was hard, I wonder if nightmare is hard..."
Me enters nightmare with all the gear: "With this gear I will be invincible!"
Me enters cold plains... Cries like a girl running away into the waypoint.
The best music for those depressing, gray, rainy winter days. I can almost see the fallen walking amongst the trees when I'm out for a walk with this playing.
Best game ever created, hands down.
Never, in all of my 31 years, has a song given me such powerful goosebumps and shivers.
Even after beating the game every which way, I still return to and love it dearly.
this game is the main reason why i'm in love with rgp games.
The precipice of wonderment lies beneath that unturned stone, just beyond
Staring at the screen, doing the math to see if a socketed hatchet with 3 fire gems does more DPS than my Two Handed sword

Changing from other areas with dark music in them (like the Caves) to this really gave you that feeling that you are finally in "home"
This game has a incredible athmosphere!
Ma childhood. Thank you matrix
The soundtrack made the game, rather than the other way around. Not a knock at all, but a testament to the greatness of the overall experience.
Most epic soundtrack in history of gaming !!!!!
This song brings back so many memories playing this game with my dad on a old pc i get goosebumps from this.
The monsters are laughing 1:43
My first game CD ...back in 2001 when I accidentally purchased it and it became a lifetime memory. And Barbarian was my favourite character.
1.44 part was maximum played in Akara's ⛺ tent
0:00 the nostalgia is kicking me in the balls.
Leaving the Rogue encampment for Lut Gholein was such an ordeal, knowing you won't come back during the journey and you won't hear this gorgeous music again unless you go back by yourself
Before starting the game i used to turn off all the lights and everything but with this music i turned all them on and kept playing......!
I love how it's just an awesome sequel to D1 tristram music
Peace of Art
One of the greatest games of all time.
Не только игра но и музыка шедевральна!
rush b amirite
First time I played this game I was 4 years old. I was stuck in the first act and my uncle who let me play it on his computer couldnt read his book because I was always calling him and asking him for advice for the missions. I remember I got shocked when I saw all those lightnings when the gate to Tristram was opening. It was just too epic for me that time.
I want this to play on my funeral
a shame no one will hear it

Ever since I first played diablo, I've been in love with this song. It brings back so many memories of staying up all night killin' things. *sigh*
Good times...
Thanks for the upload!
3:57 this part is nostalgic
good memory of this game sound
Wouldn't it be nice if Blizz made a HD remake of this awesome game? It beats D3 in so many ways...
A friend told me that blizzard is actually making a HD remake with some changes in skills/charakters and items. But only blizzard knows when it comes out... and it should be for free if you own D2 and LoD and activate it on battle.net
+Gordon Freeman i doubt your friend is right.... But it would be damn good if he was.
Why would they offer it for free? Your friend is a big liar.
Nah guys no one wants Diablo 2 HD all we need is a *MOBILE GAME* Do you guys not have phones?
AMEN!
The greatest video game composer of all time. This brings a tear to my eye, and makes me dream back to the good old Diablo days!
That intro is so good
😊 2024 still geting gose bumps
I love the Tristram theme. But this is better!
Standing in the encampment.. staring at your inv.. and the horadric cube.
