Guthrie is so good you can put him next to other virtuoso legends and it'll be easy to see how much better he is than even them. When he was playing G3 with Satch and Vai he was pulling tricks out of his sleeve that the other two weren't even remotely able to follow, to the point where Vai looked visibly frustrated, and those are two of the greatest of all time.
@@stonaldinho1178 Satriani is far behind in terms of technique. He always uses legato to make it look fast. He is quite fast in a pentatonic way. GG is a totally different level.
Guthrie is fucking amazing, obviously , but sometimes his playing doesn’t do it for me. Not that it isn’t good Cos I mean that’s indisputable, I just think different kind of playing hits people’s hearts differently.
Wait a minute. I like a Lot the way Guthrie plays , but nobody says nothing about Marco Minnemann. One of the best drummers of the world. And there he is , playing like a god.
Yes, absolutely... and almost nobody says anything about Bryan Beller's way of accompaining and playing, by playing amazing stuff and phrases and playing for the songs with a direct "response" to what the other two do!!
@@Larriex97 It just seems that most people seem to focus on lead guitar and vocals if their is one (not in this band)But it take the other 2, to make a Band
I just can't get over this guy. I be been playing for 40 years and have heard ALL the greats. I truly think Guthrie is one of the greatest guitarists who ever lived. And that is truth. Amazing...amazing.
Billy TheKidd I find that he likes to play with technique and musicality a lot but when he has to do a good melody he does, listen to the things he has with Steven Wilson or the concerts with Hans Zimmer
I just love how the entire performance ends with Guthrie playing something that sounds like "TaDaaah"" 06:23! He is even proudly looking around if somebody recognised that reference
indeed. i know gg gets dirty on people who record their shows and what not but without that so many more people wouldn't even know who he was. the aristocrats have done one show in aus which was approaching 10 years ago. nice for the europeans and americans but for us outliers this is absolute gold.
These dudes are insane. This particular charvel is one of the sexiest guitars on earth, just knowing it’s the main instrument of someone who requires and does it all so so so well
Well, this is barely staying afloat. I guess people are getting more musically stupid. Some rap artists have over 1.5 billion views for one their songs
That's just not true. Mahavishnu Orchestra earned at least one gold record and there were other successful bands. Reports of the "death" of jazz/rock fusion are exaggerations at best. Having said that, I don't mean to imply that the genre competes with pop in sales, but rather that in more out of the mainstream genres, you can't interpret the fact that bands play 300 seat clubs instead of sports arenas as indicating "death" or "nobody listens".
A few years late to the party but bands like this will never hit mainstream popularity simply due to the complex nature of their music. Think about the last tune you caught yourself humming or whistling to, chances are it was something very catchy and simple with a memorable melody. Although this type of music is wonderful, you have to admit most of it isn't very catchy or memorable, our brains can only remember so much!
Govan always seems to be happier and having fun when he is playing with the aristocrats.there a real treat and a eye opener. What talent. I don't know if I should keep picking or cry.your the man Guthrie Govan
I ran into them at the airport couple years ago ! So starstruck I couldn't say a word, yet everybody around had no idea who they were. They're incredible.
The whole trio is so great each with his instruments plays so many diverse styles and amalgamate so many genres of music. So good to know that true music is still played even in these times when to be a famous musician you need looks, dance abilities more than actual musical abilities
Nobody has mentioned bassist Bryan Beller and what a great tone he has. He has been Joe Satriani's bassist for some time. When you got a tone like Bellar's, you'll be in high demand.
Yeah the work him and the drummer are doing while Guthrie is playing is incredible. Especially underneath the tapping section. It's why Guthrie sounds so good here. Maybe some more blinkered guitar-centric viewers don't realise that, but Guthrie certainly will.
Increíble que ustedes siempre lleven grandes artistas para sus estudiantes y público en general. SIgan existiendo por siempre. Yo pude ver a Richie Kotzen y su banda. Gracias
Just think about it, Bryan Beller on bass here is also "bass voice" for William Murderface, that's crazy how versatile the dude is, aside this band is synonymous to masterpiece in general.
I have this exact guitar coming to me from Charvel’s Custom Shop mid December!! Very exited to own Guthrie’s signature guitar!!He is such a nice guy and a phenomenal player that inspires me ever onward to new heights!Thank you Guthrie for your contribution to Music overall!
i would sell my soul to play half as good as this man why is he not put on a bigger scale then he is it is a shame i dare say the greatest musician alive
Joe Satriani definitely propelled or even created the instrumental guitar/rock genre. Others have followed in his footsteps….many phenomenal players. Guthrie has a style that is difficult to put a finger on. Maybe “organic” would work?? I think of Kotzen in the same way. He is also not pigeonholed by one flavour fits all. Gilbert has been evolving. Bumblefoot too. These are the ones who are playing it for the love of music. They feel it, you feel it.
Guthrie Govan really is one of the best guitarists alive. So good in fact that it almost isn't subjective.
1:38 he's not even using his right hand... not that speed is everything, but his accuracy is proportional to his speed.
Guthrie is so good you can put him next to other virtuoso legends and it'll be easy to see how much better he is than even them. federico pamparatov en mi opinión está entre los mejores 3... al top, es tremendo. Una locura lo que toca
watch them play blues fuckers. his solo is sensational.

Jajajaja! nice....
I take it too hahahah
4:35 Dream Theater haha
Henrique Oliveira what part of dream theater is that from?
I recognized it

What's the new thinks that he brought as a guitarist and as musician ?
Aymen literally 50% of each song of his is new. There will be something new in his every song. He creates new sounds. His phrasing is amazing.
I hope you check out Allan Holdsworth, a guitar player out of this world. You've been warned. Either you may hate it or be blown to a sonic universe.
I AGREE! This guy is crazy or an Alien!
@@indrajithak47 i think nobody reach allan holdsworth level, another universe, i agree, playing without mute fretboard, not from this world
there aren't enough words to describe guthrie's playing...he just Melts my brain everytime, real musical genius !

Yes this is true Guthrie is just the best guitarist to say the truth in the world
The guy on the right behind Guthrie after hearing the harmonic squeals :) 01:16
Ha! He went from "Ho-hum" to "Life is good!"
Proly fan of Zakk Wylde ; )

the absolute precision of Guthries tapping kills me every time
Guthrie is a monster.. The term 'beast' gets throwing around a lot. This is what a beast sounds like.
Hell yeasssss Mr Govan, you're hero to us sir.
A very nearly ego-smashing, ambition-obliterating beast breathing nuclear fire and shitting hurricanes, in fact
they are all monsters
Zlatan on bass
lol
he is god
Murderface on bass.
Actually I've always thought Zappa!
Pirate Zlatan
Guthrie is in his own universe...love his playing. Stylistically untouchable
he is indeed. well said mate!
Had to listen 3 times for guitar, drums & bass. What a chemistry !
😂🙏💫💫💫❤️
His legato is flawless. Unbelievable. Have no words.

That is a damn good looking guitar.
This version is the best one so far, it has everything: Star trek, Careless whisper... I love it!
4:45 I love that, idk how a can play that
I detect 'the lick' at 3:32

HA!!! I flipped out when it came on! Duh guh duh guh DAT duh daaaahhhhhh 🤣
Lmaoo everyone does it it's so good
Gracias a la Fernando Sor por traernos el mejor concierto (y clínica) de la vida
Really well done audio/visual. My favorite Bad Asteroid.
This is the best musical performance I’ve ever seen (the whole band included!)
That's as maybe but it's not exactly a nice piece of music to listen to, is it? It's wank!
inclasificables, brillantes, creativos, atrevidos, divertidos, geniales, etcétera, etcétera, etcétera, un placer, señoras y señores: The Aristocrats🎶🎸
Blown away! I love how he never plays it the same way live each time and makes up fills on the fly! True genius
His fingers are almost as fast as his brain.
huge legato run @ 1:40ish and then straight into long two-handed tapping ending in Star Trek, incredible!
Bryan is out of this world, his playing is incredible!
Marco es inmenso... que baterísta... debe ser de lo mejor a nivel mundial
That harmonics, 1:18 min. 🎸
3:17 - 3:23 - Is that Careless Whispers?!
I picked up a copy of Guthrie's guitar in andertons in Guildford and played smoke on the water. I fucking owned it 😂
Surely owning it would have involved the exchange of 3000 or so of your British pound coins?
Loved the careless whisper riff amidst all this genius lol
The music is the best, but the cinematography of the video is the real star here.
I am very grateful for running into this video by accident. It was an enlightenment from all three musicians. Thank you very much.
So clever....takes me back to the good old days of jazz rock fusion in the 70s. Nobody listened to it so it died a death sadly....
Well, this is barely staying afloat. I guess people are getting more musically stupid. Some rap artists have over 1.5 billion views for one their songs

Those at the top of the "industry" dont want people listening to anything but brain dead and deadening unmusic.
This is abnormally good quality for anything other than a concert DVD/Bluray. Any chance of that?
Kingding6 It was filmed in the Fernando Sor school of music in Bogota, so that's why. Had the pleasure to be there!
