Although I almost never go to concerts I have been lucky enough to see both Matteo Mancuso and Paul Gilbert live: I won't explain that they sound wonderfully good, everyone knows it.
I will simply underline that they are two pleasant, smiling people, with a friendly approach, full of inventiveness, who dialogue with the other musicians with every note, who show no trace of stardom and who involve the audience with the strength of their music.
I'm also very curious about the guitar: what sound will the young but immense Matteo produce from it?

I've got to jam with Paul on stage three times in his "Massive jams" where he trades licks with 150-200 guitar players in a row, which lasts for hours and hours. I wish I could have jammed with Matteo. Someday maybe...it would be my dream come true.

He purposley makes the guitar playing look so smooth and effortless, even though it's not so easy to do. When you watch his face you can see the creative process as he moves through a song, and how there's little to know resistance between what he's thinking and what his hands are doing.

My favorite part is when I start it over from the beginning as soon as it ends. Then everything after that. So good... I wonder how many views I'm personally responsible for. Love this song and performance so much. Bravo, Maestro.

I've been playing guitar for 12 years. Always look around to see the evolution of the instrument. I thought Holdsworth touched the limit of guitar playing. Then there's this young guy who goes beyond everything. Still can't believe he's this good.

For my ears, Matteo always comes with something interesting, melody, outside, rhythm, sometimes all of them.
Doesn't feel like common shredding... he and his mates bring MUSIC and I can hear influences of the best styles and players, easily trespassing guitar and Rock sounds. Very organic and amazing, exciting all the time!
It reminds of Mclaughlin, Holdsworth, Scott Henderson, Gambale, Govan and others!

It's not just technical brilliance, on its own that can soon sound tedious and cold.
His playing is full of heart and expression, there is so much communication with Matteo, fast slow, whatever, that fretboard talks.
If it was chess he would be a super grandmaster, beyond what could be taught, we're lucky we get to see it.
