I've been practicing the founder for one week since I bought the book in Chinese edition, by the way, I'm one of your reader in Taiwan. I want to say thank you, I do not have back pain problems, but I do know my hamstring is way too tight, and some how I know it is in the way of my favorite excercise, running. After practicing the founder and the one you desiged for bikers for 3 times, I ran my best record on 20 KM. It was amazing, I didn't expected it at all, but now I'm sure it helps.
Love this book. Great to see there's videos too. I've reduced my back pain significantly since doing these exercises. My Dad became interested and bought the book as well.
I am a chiropractic student and am trying to understand why it is you want to breath through the chest? Wouldn't you want to be doing more diaphragmatic breathing? Also, are you trying to brace your core while doing the extensions? Otherwise I was recommended to check your stuff out and I am definitely glad I was led your way!
I've been doing this video for about 4 weeks. My back pain has definitely gotten better but I can't get rid of the burning pain in both my SI joints. Any suggestions of other exercises??? I'm so tired of this pain. Thanks!!!
Dr. Goodman, All these back exercises keep stating "for back pain". My discomfort is all numbness, without really any pain at all. Still, it can be quite disabling. The diagnosis is "lumbar radiculopathy", and it affects my left leg mostly, to the point of great weakness in my left leg and difficulty in walking. Is this, and the "founder" good exercises for me? Thanks. Brian
You may want to try some trigger point therapy or trigger point yoga. Unless you get all the knots or trigger points out of your muscles, stretching and strength training wont help a whole lot.
I'm wondering if your program can help with sciatica? I've recently injured my L5 and my disc is pressing on my nerve causing problems in my leg...help!!
"mckenzie" didn't invent it either, it's a common pilates exercise, and....pilates just took it from something in yoga lol. anyway this foundation shit is just general back extensor strengthening exercises that he's passing off as a unique program.
@@nizz0matic307 its not just back extension exercises. If anything, it's axial Extension. Putting the load off the joints onto the muscles. Using muscle pulleys to decompress the spine
Nobody uses the adductors as spinal anchors like Foundation Training. And yes I’m doing my best to share what I know is an effective and unique program for posterior chain strength and axial expansion.

Should I be flexing my abdominals when I do this?

Very good explanation, everything seems very logic.

Stuart McGill, who wrote THE BAVK MECHANIC, would not recommend this exersize for patients with lower back disc problems
Understood.
Dr. Goodman, who wrote the book Foundation would.
McKenzie back extensions.

ugh this is wrong in so many ways
Why?
Haha, no it's not. See people he's helped.
Uhm no, when you exhale you go down when you inhale you go up - work with your breath.
Quite opposite. Exhale when encountering challenges.
Ok. Or work with your breath the other way.
