    great job, super pictures, and congrats for finding the sun - when we used to go there the kids called it WINDY ISLAND - got many a pic of their shivering little faces as we sheltered behind a wall to eat our sandwiches.

    Lindisfarne was gods gift to photographers! I was there many years ago the weather was so bad that it was dangerous to even get out of the car however the weather changed in the afternoon so I went back, I had the whole place to myself for a couple of hours, I always promised myself I would return but I did not shame on me, but I did get some nice shots on my visit! The anchor ring gets bigger as the lens gets wider, you got some lovely pictures and you was blessed with some good weather. Well done I enjoyed that. Thank you.

    I liked the final fine art one the best. Like many of the honey pots, you have to shoot the castle but there is much more to the island and I cannot wait to go back there and stay overnight. Not sure I will be dipping the dangle-berries but much respect for going that far for your art! Thanks for sharing.

    Absolutely amazing, my pick would have to be the B&W image of the groins leading to the castle with the water smoothed out, how could anyone not love long exposures and minimalistic images. Thanks for sharing Gary.

    Another great video giving more food for thought.
    I've shot from there in past years and this gives me a reason to re visit.
    Something you may wish to consider Gary, I notice you regularly wearing wellies and sometimes getting them filled with water as do many other photographers. Have you considered buying/wearing anglers chest waders? I have a pair and they do an admirable job.
    They keep you dry and clean, not just when wading but also in wet and muddy environments particularly when having to kneel down.
    Just a thought............. Cheers.

    Wonderful compositional thought processing Mr Gough - especially given your "Monty Python Gumby" impersonation in shorts & wellies !! :)
    Hers a daft question : when using a 10 stop & polariser, which goes closest to the camera lens ? I have magnetic ones and am not sure at all how to combine them.
    Any thoughts warmly welcomed Gary.

    • @GaryGough
      @GaryGough  3 года назад +1

      It's important that the 10-stop is sealed from light. That usually means the ND filter is closest the lens. It depends on your filter system though.

    Really great video Gary and the final image where you ask for thoughts.....I do like the one where the ring is just under the water as it adds a little something else. Just a question regarding your tripod? How do you clean/dry it after being in the sea like that? I was knee deep on Sunday trying to emulate some of your style and I now have a tripod that seems to have a fair bit of sand in it. (Glad the sack stayed dry by the way!)

    Great video again Gary and thanks for sharing. I have a couple of questions though. This afternoon I attended a landscape photography course and they stated that you should never (within reason) shoot on f16, 18 or 22. Also, never use a polarizer with an ND filter? Any thoughts?

    • @GaryGough
      @GaryGough  3 года назад +1

      I shoot at F16/18 all the time. All the images taken in this video have been taken using a polariser and ND grad. They look pretty decent to me.
      It’s never good practice to shoot at either end of you camera aperture. Having said that, I shoot lots of fine art so it really doesn’t matter. If the light and conditions dictate you fire at F18 then do it!
