Outstanding video, not seeing the link to the post production but very interested!! Would love to see more videos on B&W post production and composition.
Thanks for sharing your thought process upon arrival, and then later as you evaluated your compositions. Very valuable help and just the kind of help I need.
Fantastic video. First time I looked at one by you. I learnt so much about composition from your commentary and ‘fine tuning’. Excellent stuff. Thanks.
Hi Gary, I have been watching your channel for a little while now and thought it was about time and only fair that I subscribed. Really enjoyed this video very informative on composition and thought process and as always beautiful images, many thanks for sharing.
Happy new year....Oh no, when I saw that fence leading into the lake I thought here we go again, but no you done a jetty picture which I had not seen before pictured like that! It was good to hear exactly word for word how you set the shot up and then the finished picture, then we went on to more interesting pictures....Well done and well photographed, thank you for taking us with you again.
I really appreciate the many useful tips that you provide. Your detailed approach, clear descriptions and amazing results make you my favorite landscape photographer on RUclips! Thanks for the inspiration!
Just amazing images, it's all about thinking about everything before just clicking the shutter button. Really like your workflow, thank you so much for sharing this with us. Will go check out the Editing link.
Hopes for a Happy 2022 for you Gary. Must admit, just recently started following you in the last few month. Have absolutely enjoyed your videos, so I have gone back to the beginning and started watching from the beginning. Love your teaching approach, your philosophy and your motivation. Would so love to come spend a lot of time in lakes district but driving on your side of the road scares me. Thank you
I really like how you explain your workflow/thought process. Good advice on fine tuning as well. Amazing how moving a little this way, a little that way, a bit higher or a bit lower can change and improve the composition. Lovely images. Oh and Happy New Year.
Hi Gary , I hope you enjoyed your holiday? What an outstanding shot. I love the black and white shot. Good to see you back and look forward to seeing your work of 2022.
A great shoot Gary! The jetty shot where you moved along the bank worked beautifully and actually reinforces the ol’ golden ratio rule, as the hillside going down to the lake equaled the jetty protruding into the image.
G'Day from the land of Aust. Firstly, allow me to thank you for your informative videos. They have my photographic juices flowing once again after being shut down for so long. I do have a question regarding your tripod head though. I gather that it is a IFOOTAGE brand, going on the promo at the beginning of the video, but I can't seem to find the model when I look up their site. Am I completely off track and is it a completely different brand? .... Once again, thank you for getting me off my butt and back out into the world, with my camera, again.
Enjoyed this video as I’m up at the Lakes on Friday for a long weekend. So perfect timing. Incidentally where did you photograph the red squirrel as I haven’t seen one in years?
Enjoyed that video but is that jetty not private? I'm sure that little building is a holiday home a bit like the Duke of Portland boat house. Just putting it on here just in case someone gets into bother.
Hey @Gary, I was following your affiliate link for the iFootage tripod, but it looks like it's only available through that link in the UK. Is there one that they can give you for the USA? You might be missing out on some affiliate cash.
Excellent video and images, Gary. That last image of the squirrel looked very clean for 10,000 ASA. Did it came out that clean from the camera or did you do some noise reduction in post? I really love your Blank and White photographs.
Hi Gary I'm Heading to Pooley Bridge Ullswater at the end of the month any chance you could give me the GPS of the Boat House. Great Photo by the way .....regards Glenn
Another great video Gary thanks I live a few minutes from that boathouse Thought you might be interested to know it recently sold for £3 million Get a few more subscribers and you never know!
Hi Gary! Well, it just goes to show that photography is all subjective and all relative, because personally, I didn't really like the first image. To me it didn't look natural. To me it looked like the jetty was from a completely different photograph. And I also found that I disagreed with you with regard to the second image too! I actually liked the way the background came to the centre of the image! It wouldn't do for us all to be the same though would it?
little fellar at 10.000 ISO, while my photos looks like the snow on a old TV at 1600 ISO... hmmm... maybe the 50D is not the top of the line anymore, but neither is the fool behind it :)
Love your style of photography
Cheers 👍👍

Great work Gary - loved the wildlife too! Happy New Year!

Don't step on the missing planks then. Happy New year to you sir.

Good demo of procedure. Wish mine was as good 😒😒
Enjoyed that video but is that jetty not private? I'm sure that little building is a holiday home a bit like the Duke of Portland boat house. Just putting it on here just in case someone gets into bother.
I too am trying to find the link to view your post processing, can you please advise me.
Funny how you refer to these as "decent images" in the video description. I would be thrilled to have captured any of them.
..not to worry..after 3 week down time ya still got it...image at16:30, wonderful...h'ppy n'yr
Hey @Gary, I was following your affiliate link for the iFootage tripod, but it looks like it's only available through that link in the UK. Is there one that they can give you for the USA? You might be missing out on some affiliate cash.
Hi Daniel, the iFootage link isn't an affiliate link. I think you can only buy from them. Cracking bit of kit though 👍
