Great Vlog Gary, The best spots for landscape photography are often the hardest to beat, you have a great set of images from this visit many happy returns
I’ve just come on RUclips to watch your latest, light on the road m62 and got totally distracted and watching this video Gary!! How did I miss this. This is a fine example of you tenacity and determination topped off with class editing!! Reet let’s get back to watching your latest. 👍
Lovely images from an amazing place. If you want watery channels with bits of green then the south side of the Humber east of Barton may be worth a look. Stay safe and well.
Hello Gary, your persistence paid off, a great selection of photographs. If others want to make photographs similar, you may need to package and sell your enthusiasm. Thanks for sharing and continue to stay safe 😷
I've run out of superlatives for Mr Inspirational. Video content and imagery is unsurpassed with wit and entertainment thrown in. Uplifting vlog Sir...
Hi Gary, This was truly a fantastic video highlighting some really simple yet powerful images. Photography especially Landscape Photography as a Fine Art is entirely subjective as you well know however like so many of your viewers on your channel have learned how to appreciate the simple things in life and through our photography transform them into amazing subjects. Thanks for sharing this video and for taking us along your journey as a Landscape Photographer. Stay safe and my best regards to Mrs Gough and the rest of your family. Kreyg Scott
Really enjoy this video Gary, location looks great!! Your favorite image is a winner, it looks like an old shipwreck to me. Think that would look great on a wall!!!
I've loved both of these videos Gary. Love your enthusiasm even when things don't go to plan. Well done for your persistence of this place. It's a stunning location, I've been here a couple of times myself and will be going back there again now :) Stunning images, too mate. You've inspired me sir :) :)
thoroughly enjoyed this video, fabulous pictures in the end, and the sheer enthusiasm is infectious, it's helping to keep me motivated to try more things and get deeper into my journey back into photography after so many years away from it and the days of 35mm film, thanks for producing these videos
Hi Gary just a quick query do you cover your eyepiece when taking long exposures? I have been told that light ingress can effect shots.... Really enjoy your videos and am inspired that you make a great living out of doing something so enjoyable( I cite the ability to buy 2 drones in twelve months! wow you must be rich!...lol)
Thank you Malcolm. Trust me, I'm anything but rich :( I don't cover the eyepeice unlsess I'm shooting exposures greater than 4 minutes and only then if it's a bright sunny day.
Wonderful photos, as ever, Gary - persistence pays off! And I always gain or learn something from your vlogs. I'm surprised you didn't get camera shake on such long exposures in that wind - getting down lower no doubt helps. Not so convinced by the shirt, though. lol ;) Like you say about fine art photography - it's all subjective, right?
A canon 80D is perfectly capable of creating these images or any other for that matter. I'm about to make a walk-through on how to take fine-art pictures.
Hi Gary, I always looking forward for your next videos. I loke alot your B&W photos, so much so, that I bought myself a nd32000 (15stopper). Thank you again for sharing your passion with us! Ciao from Sicily!
Gary Wonderful work!! My first time with your channel. I’m watching this as I sit at the New Jersey, USA shore a family place for the last 35 yrs. I’m going in the morning to try my hand at Fine art photography, minimalistic shots. Thank you mate ! Wonderful!!
Hi Gary Fantastic location Fantastic Photography, I liked the way you showed the locational map, A bit too far for me to travel, but I am sure many will follow your journey, Great idea showing the map, perhaps something for the future to add, Regards welshman 2081
Gary, your favourite of the day can be described in just one word for me ..... 'MAGIC!' I have always wanted to visit this area myself. I will have to make that special trip too. Only problem, I live down under. Mmmm.... maybe one day.
Hey Gary love your videos you're down to earth bro. I live out here In western Oklahoma its Challenging out here to come up with something creative.but I still love Photography for sure. Keep those videos coming ok. James
Hey Gary. Loved to see your process. Normally we can find the tutorials of “search for this” “do that” but is more formational see the things to overcome and thought process. Thank you! And lovely pics.
Beautiful video Gary. Very interesting and innovative compositions and love all the images. The image with a beam across is also too good for my taste., it breaks that obviousness.
How on earth do you keep your tripod steady for a two minute exposure in that wind while on sand? I struggle with 30 second exposures and I’m using a sturdy Manfrotto
so pleased you got your shots and beat the hell out of that location. Looks cold but I think you're so excited you don't even notice excellent piece and gives me ideas as I live on north east coast and sometimes find there's nothing of interest for me, but you've shown just keep at it and take some pictures and it just might work
Beautiful photographs. I got my first 10 stop out the box today so total long exposure beginner. I was a bit worried as it was sea mist (lots) as I was getting marks on the lens (uv cover) so am concerned about the filter and how to clean. Is a lens wipe ok? I’m excited to learn and practice more though. Really enjoyed the video 😄👍
Land exposure photography is very infectious, you've been warned 😁😁 I use a soft cloth to clean my filters. Try and use an absorbant one otherwise you'll just end up smudging water round and round.
Nice images indeed! Nice work. I might head there myself again someday soon. I'm from Grimsby originally (born and bred there but no live East Midlands), not far from Spurn Point obviously. May I ask about the tidal cut off - you said in your video that at high tide you'd be stranded. Is it OK to stay there immediately before high tide or do you get escorted off? And I assume the tide doesn't rise so high that you get swept out to see? You can wait on the grassland areas I assume? I only ask as it would be easier not to have time it around ensuring I get off before getting washed out to see. If I get caught in the moment, it would be good to just stay put. If thats possible, what is the time duration before you can leave again?
Hi Ted, firstly thank you. The high tide only effects the first 500 mtrs or so of Spurn. You only get cut off when it's a very high tide. This weekend for instance is a very high tide in which case, you would have to wait a couple of hours before you can get on or off. There are a few houses on there and an RLNI station so yes, it's perfectly safe to be there when you get cut off. I hope this helps
Lovely work mate, I’ve been watching for a while. Thought I better comment. I like the long exposures & those type of scenes are just made for long exposures. My favourite is your thumbnail image. It also looks like you’ve kept your editing pretty simple 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 cheers
Hi Gary. I'm new to your channel but I'm hooked. I love your fine art photos from spurn point. Also love the way you tell us the settings. I've just come back from Loch Lomond and tried long exposure a bit, though I'm still a newbie.
Another great educational video, one for another day but how do you work out what strength of grad filter is required and what adjustments is there between a 1 minute and 2 minute exposure?
Just happened to stumble onto your video channel ,so glad I did. Some beautiful technique here Gary. Loving the minimalistic approach to your sweet black and white images. Subscribed .
Thanks for this sharing moment...nice photographies. I appreciated your enthusiasm and your English (I use yours videos to mix 2 topics : photography and English learning). It's perfect to me.
Fantastic fine art work you have done in that place, I can feel your feeling doing those photos, making brave face to the elements..!! Places like these I find here at the chilean patagonia, were I live and of course making photography as you do...congratulations.!!
I am also an admirer of old wharfs, and I am an especialist here in the Chilean Patagonia. Have published so many pictures about these old wharfs or piers that today they are object of cult to photographers visiting us from all over the world, above all at sunset time. If I saw correctly, don't you do exposure bracketing ?

Another great educational video, one for another day but how do you work out what strength of grad filter is required and what adjustments is there between a 1 minute and 2 minute exposure?
The difference between a 1 and 2-minute exposre is simply one-stop of light. I would suggest googling what a stop of light is and go from there.
