It's really great that in your videos you mention if you make a mistake, so others can avoid the same mistake by watching the video. Thank you for the video, and keep up the good work! I haven't been following your videos as much since I switched car brands, as I needed more seats than just 7. But Volvo is always in my heart, and it's great to come back and watch your videos because you've always been a Volvo lover and you take great care of your car
Thanks for the info on the backwards seal, I had to go look at mine and I also put mine in backwards. )-: Better to fix it now than try to figure out later why the ABS is going bonkers! Good Video

I don't own a Volvo, but it's on the shortlist for my next vehicle. I appreciate the effort put into filming it, the job is work enough just doing it. Subscribed!
Cant believe the rust on your front end. Extreme cold and salt with metal don't mix!! Here in Australia we don't have this issue Great job on the bearings without a hoist. I have used and would have used FAG ( made in Slovakia) from FCP. They give you a lifetime warranty. Your control arms are toast and should have been replaced with this job. I used Lemforder but in this instance Meyle HD is essential I feel Great video
I've done this job on a previous P3. Not a particularly hard job but needs a press if you don't have one at home. I got mine pressed in a local garage.
Good evening, thank you for your lovely videos. I’ve been following you for a long time but once again you’ve used substandard Chinese parts and I did see one of your videos the other month where you was moaning about Chinese parts only buy original. I don’t really understand where you’re coming.🎉
Alternative way of telling if your bearing failed is by just grabbing your wheel and try to wiggle it up and down, and if there are movements or play that means you need to replace them. Definitely check on both sides as I replaced my LF (driver side) and not both fronts, and turns out both need to be replaced. Took knuckle off was a very time consuming job so make sure whoever is taking it off and have it pressed in prepare a whole day for this. Few points on the ABS sensor >ABS message will go away shortly after a drive if you did not damage the abs sensor. >Pay attention to the ABS sensor as collision warning equipped cars are different than regular cars.
@@volvosweden Mine has 200k with the sound, so its definitely way overdue. If it's very light then yes you may need the stethoscope. Also just curious could you throw that link for the wheel bearing tool in the descriptions as well?
There is no way to refill the grease into the bearing? Thank you for the video tutorial. Maybe is possible to add grease through ABS sensor using a needle, based on your video.
You can also just remove the brake caliper mount with the caliper attached to it, pull it off and slide the caliper over the spring like it's the rotor and zip tie in place. Hope you didn't overpay for that tool, but mine was out of round and needed to be shaved with a dremel in order to use. Despite being a heavy tool, kinda lacking on quality.
Those lower ball joint bolts are proper pain in backside. When I did mine it took me almost 2 h to get one side off and other side bolt snapped and had to drill it out. Off topic but have you thought about installing 2 piston callipers from XC60 or would it not be worth the hassle?
The ball joint bolt on the passenger side almost broke. Separating was very hard. Been there from day one most likely. Two piston brakes not for me. It works fine just as it is.
Very good. I also started to get a bearing sound on my V70 D5 AWD and it sounds like its coming from the front. Where can I buy that tool for pressing the bearing in and out?
@@volvosweden это я понял. Доживём точно. Рычаг-то дотянет, вот шаровая бы на начала стучать в ответ. Особенно при переходах из тепло а холод, и обратно.
Wow you have a lot of surface rust with only 132k km. Mine has less but i have 480k km. I have problem with vibration and stuttering from front to back and vise versa from 1000-1200 rpm when driving i any gear doesnt matter. When idling and in N i can feel vibration on the steering wheel and passenger chair is vibration/moving little bit could that be engine mount or trany mount?
Hello from Spain!! First of all, thank you for the videos. Can you please upload a video on how to change trunk hinges on a 2009 xc70? When I open it it goes down by itself thank you very much!!!

Absolutely
Mate...the timing is unreal :) I need to do this job on my xc70 and I was think about it just about when you uploaded the video.
Nice!
Same here. Mine are starting to cause vibrations as well. Perfect timing.
+1 for me xc60 t6 09

As usual, well documented and explained.
Great video on this on this , enjoying the 2018 V90 XC.
Excellent thanks for showing the mistake. If you can make that mistake we all can.

Отлично сделано, осталось нижнюю шаровую в последствии заменить для полного счастья.👍
Летом надеюсь весь перед причесать 🤣👍
Добрый день. Если можно ссылочку товара магаза (еБЭЙ) на сьемник.
Thank you for your professional instructional videos.
What a job 🙈 Nice video again super !
Excellent as usual video.
Great work. Keep videos coming. 👍
I had a problem with vibration and after many trips to the dealer, the last mechanic said it was the tyres,so 4 new ones where fitted.PROBLEM SOLVED.🇬🇧

I need to get these modules again, just waiting on my new to me 2011 V70 R Design T6 awd to arrive
Félicitations, excellent travail

Excellent!
Very informative video. Thank you
Good video. The reason the ball joint didn’t pop sooner was because the hammer you used is too small. A 5lb hammer would’ve done it quicker
Yeah see what some water, salt and dirt and debris can do.. I mean everything is so rusty. But you did good changing, replacing it yourself!

If what you describe is present it’s an extreme failure of the bearing. I catch mine at the Very beginning of failure.

Look for the tool on eBay: search Volvo bearing tool. You will see it there
Thanks from turkiye 👍
Could you do a very short video in which you show where you normally place the jack stands?
You are not the first one to ask. I will do it! Keep an eye out
Skip those dust protectors. They are not needed.
Feels like true.
Well explained !! Great video
And to show the mistake shows your human 🫡
Don not know why but playing this is out of focus, reset all my settings, done security scan ! nothing worked !
I Wanted so much to watch this !
❤❤❤❤Thank you
Any part numbers for the press kit used? Having a hard time finding one with an 82mm bit

Its a Ford part
How many Km/ miles on your XC70? I have an 07 S80 with 200k miles on it. I like watching your videos & have done several of your jobs. Thx!
135000 Km at the moment

Thx for the tip! The tool was from eBay around 175$ CAD We split the cost with my friend
@volvosweden Glad it worked, some places sell that same tool for wild prices $300+
Can it disable 4c shocks?
Hi. Can you please make a video about where are the lift points on your xc70 and how to manage that correctly depenting on the type of jack used?
Will do my best!

You also need to remove ABS sensor first! It's too critical to damage.
Hmmm that d5t5 sticker… bit funky.
:)
Юрий, я бы не стал колотить по шаровой, когда на место ставишь, она итак не в лучшем состоянии. Съёмник ступицы зачотный.
Буду менять рычаги летом 2025. Если доживем :)

Canadian cars are all rusty. So much salt on the streets 80% of the time.
Harsh long winters. Also parking the car every night in garage where temperature is warmer and it melts.

1:33 mosquito sucking your blood :D
Not the only one ;(
Hex 7mm
Next time put the new bearing in the freezer for a few days.
So many rusted parts. Such a shame
Here many 2009 cars are already junk because of rust. The Volvo is still better condition
