Great update! You have a wonderful prevention! Thank you!
This med made me gain weight.
How is this possible?? It helped me to lose weight
@@sevdaay61 it’s a side effect and some people get a side effect others don’t.
Same. I have gained since being on Levo the past 3 years even when trying to lose
@@kellieloporcaro7680 yes it’s one of the side effects they keep hidden. It makes me angry too, because we already have a slow thyroid, so losing weight is really hard, not impossible because I have lost some weight, but much harder then the average person.
Same here. Frustrating
Extremely thorough thank you so much
You're very welcome! I'm glad you found it useful.
Thank you so much! Such a helpful video. And I also want to say that you speak very nicely and I enjoyed listening to you. The most helpful thus far.
Wow! Such kind words. I’m glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching.

Thank you so much ! you have been very informative about the medicine.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
This has to be the most useful information about a drug that I have been taking for 4 months.
Glad you found it useful. I appreciate you watching and such a positive feedback.
Great video, I take a large amount of meds and feel that in some ways they may be clashing with each other I would like to ask multiple questions and discuss with you?

Amen! God bless you too. Thanks for watching.
Excellent video and very informative. I’ll be taking my very first dose of synthroid tomorrow morning. I’m looking forward to finally feeling better. It’s so debilitating to feel tired all the time.
Thanks for watching and I pray you have the best results as you start taking the medication.
That’s me too I’m so tired today was my first dose
How did it go?
@@irisvaldivia4566 didn’t give me much improvement so I went back to taking Naturethroid then eventually got off of all thyroid medicine. Feeling fine and I lost 25lbs.
Did you make any changes to your diet while taking the medication?. I've been taking it for two months now and the fatigue and body aches have improved tremendously. Looking forward to losing some weight as well.
Thank you...must start taking mine in the morning before I get out of bed...I usually take it with the rest of my meds. ...with food. Thanks again!
Welcome and all the best!
Great video thank you
Very welcome
Thank you very much. I didn't realise that iron & calcium supplements and HRT can affect this medication. I've only just discovered your channel and have subscribed.
Thanks for subscribing and I’m glad you found the video helpful. All the best.
Thanks for the video. Can I take Levothyroxine with Esomeprazole together first thing in the morning?
What about taking Armour Thyroid for weight loss vs Levothyroxin?
Would you please speak on Euthyrox
Thank you for this informstion. I take calcium supplements.
thankyou very helpful eg need an empty stomach for ideal absorption of the medication.
Thank you.
Hi thank you you've explained these really well. I have few questions to ask you. I take naproxen and omeprazole too so do I take them at a separate time? My second question is when will I start noticing weightloss after taking levothyroxine?
I'm glad I thought to look this topic up b/c I was going to go back on Thyroxine just to lose weight. I was on it before but I did not lose weight. I thought maybe with intermittent fasting and Thyroxine it might work...but now I see the risk is too great.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
How to take metformin and synthroid together safely?

Great video. I will be more responsible when my levothyroxine medication, I have been taking my medication the lazy way. Thank you
What type of fruit will interact with synthroid?
After Rx thyroxine sodium 25 I started gaining weight. But doctor said
it will helps to lose weight. Also feel unusually cold. Please do let

I'm taking 75 MG levothyroxine in the morning. How soon after can I drink warm lemon water ? Ur video and explanation is awesome, very clear and precise. 😊🙏😊thanks!
Can I take Levothyroxine with guggul extra supplement?
I take euthyrox everyday at 6 am but now my work schedule has changed would I be ok if I take my pill at 8am and stay like that ?
I’m taking a lot of medicine loprin 25 mg ‘paraxyl for depression inderal for high blood pressure fosamax for osteoporosis calcium sleeping pills endep and levothyroxin for hypothyroidism feeling all day fatigue and gaining weight please guide me 😢
I just discovered your channel! Great information, thank you for posting. I have been levotyroxin for about five years, 75 mcg each morning. I am wondering if I can have grapefruit juice with this drug. I haven’t really found anything to tell me yes or no. Thank you in advance for any info you can provide! Have a wonderful day!🎉
The effect of grapefruit juice on levothyroxine is deemed to be minimal and in most cases not clinically significant. There is a chance of a slight delay in the absorption of levothyroxine. Check out the CONCLUSION of this article from the National Library of Medicine - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1884777
Basically, as long as your doctor has no objections and you take the Levothyroxine long before the grapefruit juice, there is ample chance that the levothyroxine would have been absorbed by then. I do recommend you get an individualized response from your doctor though.
I sure do appreciate you taking your time to comment. Take care
Thank you for your quick reply and the link! Looking forward to enjoying grapefruit again! 🎉
My pleasure.
I’ve been taking Levothyroxine for nearly 60 years and until recently didn’t know you should take it before eating. Also I take iron and vitB supplements is it ok to take these several hours after thyroxine.
My directions says 4 hours I usually wait 5 hours through
I am taking b4 breakfast +if 20:4 window but weight loss too hard for me
I am almost wondering if persons who gained weight by taking Synthroid did so because it speeds up your metabolism thereby making you want to eat more and not really realizing that your are taking in excess calories. When I was hyperthyroid I ate all the time then later when I became hypothyroid I wasn’t as hungry. But I still ate the same amount of food and slowly put on weight do to a slower metabolism. My weight never really crept up until after menopause. That was years after I had started on Synthroid.
I was given rai so have no thyriod and my body hates levethyroxine I get heart palpitations and i feel as if i am water logged in that i feel as if my lungs have water. I also have a lot of water retention AND I take esomeprazole 40mg and liothyronin 25 mg t4 50 with t3 only I lost weight could walk for miles climb stairs with no issues now trying this combo. Nothing has changed yet. T3 at night before bed under my tongue t4 in the mornings esomeprazole 2 hours or there abouts after.
What do you mean nothing has changed yet? Your current medication isn't working for you? I am getting bloat issues on Levithyroxine 4 months after my thyroidectomy and the RAI was done this month.
This levo caused my h7sband and I to gain weight and I have to take it at night bc it makes me want to sleep all day so I can fall asleep at night..plys I have an iron deficiency and I'm on estrogen replacement bc I have partial hysterectomy...I take bone health bc I'm 52 ...I trybto eat between 6-7pm and take my levo between 9-10 or just when I go to bed later. Problem is it's not helping me lose weight..I'm probably going to have to see an endocrinologist
I take it in morning 🌄 but how do I stay awake after that..
Can I take kelp supplements while I'm on levothyroxine?
Kelp supplements are generally not recommended for people with thyroid issues unless you have been given the go ahead by your doctor. This is because most kelp supplements contain more than the daily recommended intake of kelp for people with thyroid conditions. Decisions are typically made on an individual basis hence double check with your Doc first.
Thanjs for the helpful video:) Are you South African? I only ask because I live in SA and your accent sounds southern african;))
Glad you found the video helpful. With respect to the accent, it is Ghanaian. I grew up in Ghana. Thanks for taking time to share what you thought of the video. All the best.
@@HealthRX Aah;) Yes I did not know that you could take it at night so it was indeed helpful, thanks;)
I was given a high doses was losing waight rapidly but it was to high was causing heart problems so he lowered it gave me a blood test said it was perfect now i have gained 40 pounds in 2 months he refused to change it said it was dangerous i would have to find another way to lose the weight
What dose were you on ?
The med has made me gain weight. I have been on it for 20 years.
I take 175mcg daily, I only have one more dose I can go up and I am at max dose. Had total thyroidectomy 2 years ago. I have gained 20lbs since the surgery. And I am very active.
Very frustrating!!!
What about FOOD interactions??? e.g. grapefruit??? This is important!!!!!
I noticed a little weight loss also being on levothyroxine.. does that mean that my dose is good for me? Cause I had an issue once, my dose was too high and I went back to being hyper
Getting the right dose is quite tricky for some people. Usually how you feel is a general indicator of how close you are to the right dose, but I guess the best indicator will be when you have your blood work done. All the best.
did levothyroxin increase your appetite?
@@afit279 I gained weight from this med.
levothyroxine has only made me gain weight from the start and i'm not happy i'm just going to take myself off of it i guess if the doctor wont change to a better medicine this one SUCKS
This video made it so simple, so when I tell you my thyroid issue is still a hot mess, you better believe I'm a hot mess right now. 😂 I had surgery that removed my thyroid and I'm anemic. My blood pressure is up because of weight gain.I have to take calcium and iron supplements as well as BP medication. I chew ice for most of the day, I'm super hydrated but with the lack of food I'm not eating I'm still holding weight. I don't understand what's wrong with me. It's so tiring.
I'm glad you found the video useful. I feel your pain though and I can only wish you all the best as you try to adjust and figure things out with the weight and blood pressure. You've got this.
I never found any videos for people who had a thyroidectomy.. only those who have hashimoto!! It’s discouraging
@@CassandraRandria I have had a total Thyroidectomy and since then I have put on 3 stones in weight! I have a personal trainer twice a week and I still look 9 months pregnant! I can’t take this anymore. I actually feel like ending my life over my misery.
@@Moyrom81 Please don’t end your life. Have you thought about Vsg?

Is it good for Hashimoto’s or just Hypo (under active) thyroid
My TSH has been high since pregnancy 2 years ago.
I take 25-50/day. More weight now than ever (other than during pregnancy although I walk a lot and play with the baby a lot, I don’t eat much or very often).
I did have hyper/Grvs Dis as a teenager, I was skinny yet doubled weighed over a few years on lots of medications.
Haven’t had Thyroid issues between early 20s and pregnancy.
Yes, hypothyroidism associated with Hashimoto's may be treated with Levothyroxine.

Hi there I took thyroid when I didn't need it for about a year for weight loss in bodybuilding and now when I've come off I feel like I've got hypothyrodism its been about 7 months and still hasn't come back my levels are 14.8 T4 and Tsh 2.29 In uk. will my previous high levels come back or am I going to need to take thyroxine forever now ? Thanlyou
As long as there has been no permanent damage to your thyroid gland, your body will probably adjust. Will be best to seek the opinion of an endocrinologist though.
@@HealthRX thankyou for the reply cheers
@@HealthRX so can taking levothyroxine permanently damage your thyroid gland ?
Thank you.
