      Oh, that must have been so hard :/ I know with the medication, it doesn’t always work. Good job with your weight loss, I know rare beef helps and removing wheat, grains, soy, dairy, sugar, processed foods, and sometimes eggs (some can tolerate raw egg yolks). Strict AIP/carnivore helps, too. I wish you the best in your healing journey. I stopped my t3 hormone and feeling better, so I’m lowering inflammation in my body and healing. Oh, also dry fasting, safely. We got this! 💪

    Hmm, I was diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism and I was told to avoid so much food. Gluten, dairy, red meat, all processed foods, deli meat, sugar, soy, canola oil, … basically all oils except extra virgin olive oil and coconut oil. I’m pretty much at a loss for what I can eat and I lost 10lbs in a week because I just can’t eat anything. I’ve been eating chicken, eggs, chickpeas, carrots, peppers for pretty much every meal. I bought whole grain bread and realized there was soy in it so I couldn’t eat it. Was I told the wrong information? Everything I want to eat is apparently inflammatory. The only thing I know I can have is spinach and air. I’m losing my effing mind! 😂😢 My depression is getting worse and worse because of this too.

    Hi Jordan- first off, thank you for this very informative video. One of the best I have seen to explain hypothyroidism. Just recently found that my TSH is high (14). My ferritin is also high (449). Lots of uncertainty hearing this news. Your video explains better than most, the road ahead. I've been on a whole food plant based diet for 2 years now and have lost the weight that I desired to. Hopefully, I will gather the info I need to tackle what seems like something so many of us have. God Bless!

    I was prescribed Methamazole for my hyper/hypo thyroiditis for about 5 years now. I finally got to a point where my thyroid was neither under active or over active.
    Although I'm grateful it worked, I hated the fact that it took this long. Now, I just take vitamins like D3 and turmeric to help. I haven't had any problems yet since I stopped taking my medication.

I was diagnosed in 1993, and have never been given so much info and details about this disease. Thank you so much. I love medical people who say “oh in the US we iodize our salt so it’s definitely not that”. Or in the US it’s mostly Hashimotos, or your labs are fine exercise more and eat less. They just don’t listen and quite frankly I hope they get low thyroid so they finally realize what it feels like to not be listened to

    I not only got my thyroid removed but a few years prior to that, I had my gallbladder removed. I have gained weight and have anemia, my body hurts most days, I have edema of my legs randomly and then it goes away, I am exhausted all of the time and yet I do not sleep more than little bits at a time. I do not over eat, I can go a couple days without eating and yet I cannot lose weight. My skin is so dry, I have lost a lot of my hair and I am irritated a lot more than I used to be. (It used to take a lot alot to get me upset but now I get aggrieved way easier). Again with the weight gain and the entire body pain, I feel like it is getting harder and harder to just get out of bed. I am a mom of 3 and actually on disability and I want my life back. I have not seen anyone with no thyroid and no gallbladder and I am trying to find if anyone knows a nutritionist and success stories that has actually changed your life because I am lost and do not know what to do. Thank you

      Lost my thyroid first and then my gallbladder.
      I was dxd with fibromyalgia.. the fibromyalgia and hypo are tough. Taken a decade plus to be able to get my body in a much better, healthier place. And absolutely my mental health.
      I'm doing much better now but it's taken a lot of work. Those days when I'm just too tired, I still have to push myself but gently. Being kind to myself is vital and I'm not great at that.
      Hope you're doing well..

    Would you say Low Impact Steady State cardio would be better here, compared to HIIT?

    • @jordanwaddell
      @jordanwaddell  2 года назад +5

      I wouldn't say one is better or worse, but rather that they should both be included in a balanced exercise program :) So maybe that looks like 2 days of HIIT and 2 days of LISS. It also depends on your goals! If you're really wanting to build muscle, decreasing cardio overall is helpful. If you're working on fat burning, then a combo of HIIT and LISS is great. Also, I never do more than 20 minutes of HIIT ;) too much is not great for cortisol!

There is no way to exercise I am thrilled to ne out of bed at all...I suddenly LOST 20 LBS could not eat and could not get out of bed without dizziness....I am 75 my muscle gaining days are behind me I worked out at a gym regularly throughout my 30s , 30s and part of my 40s. I would love to do lat work, a rowing machine, pec pulldowns, these were y very favorite movements but my workout was very well balanced.I eliminated gluten I do still use about a cup of milk a day. I eat a high protein diet. I do eat cooked broccoli...not much . I have been to my GP over and over and an endochrinologist ZERO discussion of diet. They swear the salt is iodized. I am usig Sason Salt from the USA to be sure. I take a multivitamin. I gauned weight now on Synthroid for a year and a half the 20 lbs I lost. Several years prior to this I worked hard to lose 40 lbs I walked several thisand miles on my treadmill and dieted mainly high protein. I eat natural yogurt as a probiotc I dont get gas though. M

      I’m the same, I’ve had hypothyroidism for the past 30+ year. Have been on meds the whole time but no matter what I do I cannot lose the weight I’ve gained over the last 30 years!😢 I’ve tried paleo, keto, ketovore and now do mostly gluten free Mediterranean diet. My energy levels go from decent to horrible where I have to take naps on and off all day. It’s hit and miss so scheduling activities is difficult. I’ll soon be 78 and have had this problem for almost half my life…very frustrating to say the least. And, unfortunately most people who don’t suffer with thyroid issues don’t understand what its like to have no energy and think that just dieting and exercise will help with weight loss. There are days I just want to give up!!
