Finally I know what my tree is. Thank you. It was in the property of a house we bought, I thought it was a dogwood, the deer love the fruit and now I know they’re people safe!
I shake the branches of mine during bloom for pollination purposes. It results in many berries. Protect your arms from the dried blooms as they will irritate your skin for a few hours.
Cornelian cherries are grown also in my native country Albania and the buzz there is that they are very healthy. I indulge in them every time I go there but I have had hard time finding them here in the States. They are nowhere to be found in the stores and inexistent in major supermarket chains. Wonder why? Pity such a healthy fruit is not common here. Whereas cranberries are everywhere! Maybe cranberries are healthier I guess?
Another great video. Love the information and the smiles ☺️
Have 2 trees planted. Elegance and Red Star. Ellagance fruited last year a few cherries so I could taste them. Very good. Was expecting very tart yet was sweeter then my sour cherries. This year both trees flowered at nearly the same time with lots of small bees on flowers and no fruit from either tree. Not sure what happened with that. Had some light frosts but trees known to be guite frost resistant. One thing of note trees bloomed rather close together. In past one bloomed first then other followed as first one finished. Some kind of tree communication going on aligning bloom times? Trees are 6 years maybe 7 years old. Planted same time maybe 100 ft. apart.
Thank you
Great plant, we have one in our garden. 💚😃
A tree company planted a Cornus Cherokee Brave dogwood tree in my yard last July. It is a small new tree 5-6 tall. I watered it every day until late fall last year. I wrapped it before winter. Now I haven't seen any new leaves. Is there any problem? When does it leaf out in Northern Virginia? Weather is warm since April 13 (close to 70F). Thank you very much for your help.
Hi, I purchased a baby plant of this beautiful tree. Will it survive very cold winter if I plant it now in my garden? It is still in pot. Thank you for any suggestions.
Just ordered them!
Did you order it online? Can you share please how can I order it? Thank you!
@@esmiragurbanova5518 just go to raintreenursery.com!
Did the tree arrive without damage? I'm in Canada and I'm wondering how it will delivered
@@esmiragurbanova5518 I won't receive it till spring of 2022, so I don't know. I ordered a few other things that won't come until next spring. Everything I've been ordering from Etsy plant sellers or from somewhere like Raintree or some other plant sellers have arrived very nicely. The ones I haven't been happy with, are some of the much older bulb or plant companies that send catalogs, and are more mass sellers, and I've not been happy with their quality.
Hi Laura. I just bought a bare root cornelian cherry. It's sitting in a pot right now.
I have a very heavy clay soil in my acreage. Should I buy topsoil and just plant it elevated on a mound of purchased topsoil? My clay ground scares me.
Hi Ed! Yes that's a good idea, at least until your soil improves. Try spreading mulch and straw annually to get your soil improving!

What zones and soil type and ph are best for this tree?
do people actually like the flowers scent? i've always found them similar to a blend of fish and ginger, reminiscent of houttuynia cordata...
Oh, ewwwwwwww. Hate loathe detest houttuynia cordata scent.
hello, Im loooking to purchase ripened fresh 200 kilos of cornellian cherry if anybody can help me with this let me know
I've had mine for about 3-4 years, and it doesn't flower (yet.) How much phosphorus should I be giving it yearly?
