How To SET RAM SPEED on Asus BIOS

  • Опубликовано: 19 фев 2023
  • Welcome to our tutorial on how to set RAM speed on an Asus motherboard. If you've just built a custom gaming PC and you're not getting the RAM speed you paid for, don't worry! We'll guide you through the process step-by-step to ensure that you get the full performance out of your RAM.
    By default, the RAM may be set to a lower clock speed than what it's capable of. In this case, we have DDR4 3200 RAM. To fix this issue, we need to access the BIOS and make a few adjustments.
    First, enter the advanced mode by clicking "Advanced" from the main screen. Next, navigate to "AI Tweaker," and then scroll down to "DRAM Frequency." From here, select the speed you want - in this case, 3200MHz - and exit the BIOS by clicking "Exit Save Changes and Reset."
    Once the computer restarts, press F2 to enter the BIOS and confirm that the RAM frequency is now set to 3200MHz. If everything looks good, you're all set!
    Before we wrap up, it's important to check the voltage of the RAM. Make sure that the voltage your motherboard is using matches what your RAM is tested and rated for.
    RAM (Random Access Memory) is an essential component of any computer, and optimizing its speed can help improve your system's performance. With our step-by-step tutorial, you'll learn how to easily set the RAM speed on your Asus BIOS.

    You don't have to go to the advanced mode, the XMP profile set to "enabled" will clock to it's rated speed, from the easy side....
    Also, overclocking it to the full speed of the RAM will increase the voltage in all cases. Usually to 1.35v

    • @TechInsomnia
      @TechInsomnia  9 месяцев назад

      I would check the voltage first and make sure it matches what’s written on your RAM. Does your motherboard give you the option to match the voltage in a setting usually close to or in the same section where you set the speed? Sometimes that can throw off a RAM setting being successfully applied. What brand board are you using my friend? Hope this helps 🙏

      Sometime the board or RAM or CPU won't like that exact setting. Different parts can react in different ways to different configurations, especially when a setting just doesn't sit well. Unplug your power cord and open your computer. Remove your BIOS battery from the board and wait 30-60 seconds. Re-insert BIOS battery and your computer should boot fine with default BIOS settings. Asus motherboard? Try unplugging the power and opening it up and remove the bios battery if you can access it. Then wait 5 min and put the bios battery back in and plug the computer and power on and enter bios. You should be back and reset to factory bios settings. Try not to set higher than what your RAM is. It will display the speed and voltage on the RAM itself most times so while you’re pulling the BIOS battery and have it open maybe take out one of the sticks of RAM and check it.
