Hello everyone, beginner guitar player here. I always wanted to learn to play the guitar, and i found one at a garage sale for 10 bucks. I restrung it and tuned it using an app.
My goal and dream is to be able to play this song along with a few others and to learn to play in general. Are there any bits of advice you could give me to help me in my journey? Anything you wish someone would have explained to you when you were starting out?
I started with something simple like smoke on the water. I got that one sounding decent. Then i switched to 7 Nation Army by whitestripes. I am attempting a simpler version i found of Song of Storms, and i am having a very hard time quickly switxhing through multiple frets and pressing more than one fret at a time. How did you guys overcome this, and is there a certain way i should be holding the guitar and certain fingers i should be using to press certain frets?

Great tab! Not sure if its just me but I find it really hard to play with the tab. Its written well but when the you change to show new tab I think I am hardwired to look to the next measure which should be at the far left of the screen. But when you change the tab, the first measure has already been played (whereas the second measure is new) so I find I am constantly off a measure. Takes a second to correct but still a great rendition =)
I apprecaite the kind words and the feedback! Because a lot of my songs (like this one) don't have a steady time feel, I had to remove the playback indicator that usually shows up and tracks what part of the bar is playing. But like you said, the new problem that comes with that is sometimes when it transitions it can take a second to ground yourself on where you are. Will work on a solution to this!

is this hard to learn for someone starting out?
yes, but dont let that discourage you, practice small parts of it each week and you’ll have it down in no time. its all about patience and discipline
also there’s another tab video of this which is quite easier for a beginner, i recommend learning that first to get a hold of the rhythm
I would say this is more of an intermediate arrangement. It has some tricky fingerings and fast pinky movements. But that being said, don't let that discourage you if you want to give it a shot! Don't be afraid to learn things in parts, either.

You're totally right! Nice catch! Looks like I used the wrong video. I would refer to the tabs fkr that measure and not my hands :)
