    I purchased a Dominator Extreme winch a couple of months ago and had it professionally fitted into the bullbar only to find it was dead out of the box. Kings did give me a new one but now I have to remove my bar and install the replacement, Thanks for showing me a few things that will make it easier.

      Bummer about the winch being dead, but hopefully it won't take you too long to replace it. Glad my video was helpful.

    Happy to see you defeated the virus mate. Up here many good quality winches don't come with fairleads as they are used in so many different applications many of which aren't even mounted on vehicles. Usually they ask what it is being used for and will recommend one or 2. Love the videos. Cheers from Alberta Canada ✌

      Hi Daniel and thanks for your comments. The shop where I bought my winch from, specialises in 4WD, camping, etc. so any winch they sell is almost certainly destined for a 4WD.
      I'm guessing the weather in Alberta is quite cold this time of the year, as we're heading into our summer....no doubt we'll be having close to 40C days soon.

    Hi Rusty - just about to do the same install but on my 2013 Dmax with Ironman Bar - have pulled a few panels off and looks very similar to your Nissan so thanks for posting your very informative video and will now go next door and get my fussy panel beater mate to assist - you, him and me are the same with lining things up exactly! - just an FYI - the Kings Winch Kit with the white rope (instead of orange rope) has the fairlead included - thanks again and hope your trip up north went well!

      Hi tingpranav999, I'm glad you found this video helpful. Yes, lining things up properly is very important...well, it is to me, and it sounds like it is to you, too.
      Hope your install went well.
      I would expect that any winch company offering their products, should include all required parts...doesn't make any sense to me, to leave out vital bits.

    nice job I'm doing my 80 soon. and I agree fairleads should be included in the box. but kings is a budget brand that's probably why you didn't get one. thank you again for the video. and I'm in Brookdale do you want to come and give me a hand lol.

    Apparently you will need to get a wheel alignment to compensate for extra weight.
    I have a Nissan Navara D40 diesel which I fitted a Ironman Commercial deluxe Bullbar and love it.
    The D40 Nissan Navara (Frontier) was phased out here in New Zealand a few years ago but it's only phased out in the United States in 2021 so basically I still have a late model vehicle.
    I changed tires to Toyo open country A/t's which are very durable tires.
    My machine is 6 speed stick shift which is horrible to reverse as it's high gear. To make these vehicles run way smoother and more reliable I changed all my lubricants to Amsoil Signature series diesel oil with a very long extended drain interval.

    • @RustysOutbackAdventures
      @RustysOutbackAdventures  2 года назад

      I did the GVM upgrade after I'd fitted the bullbar, but you're correct in saying that a wheel alignment would be necessary with the addition of a bullbar and winch.

    When they fitted the winch bar they should have cut the bumper to suit the winch. Any way good to see you in action anyway 😀

      I thought the installation of a winch would have been pretty straight forward....but that's not the way these things happen, unfortunately.

      Hi John, it's a fairly easy install. Just take your time and you shouldn't have any problems. You might have to rotate the clutch lever to suit the location...and make sure you get a winch with a fairlead, or at least buy one when you buy your winch.

    • @894runa
      @894runa Год назад

      Managed to sneak it in without removing the bar or body panel but had to cut the same as you. Multi tool was perfect for cutting. Fitted a 9500lb though so that might have been the difference

    This is a good video to follow! So , just a question. On last, why did you pull out the rope for after put back in ? I bought today the same winch! Appreciate to saw everything that I need ! Thanks mate

    • @RustysOutbackAdventures
      @RustysOutbackAdventures  2 года назад +1

      I'm glad you found the video helpful. The reason for pulling out the rope and winding it back again, is to put some tension on the rope, so when you do actually use it to winch yourself, the rope has been 'pre-tensioned'...making it work and spool better.

    Hey rusty was just wondering why you had to keep your bumper bar doesn’t the bullbar normally cover where your bumper normally is or is that just a navara specific thing

    • @RustysOutbackAdventures
      @RustysOutbackAdventures  3 года назад

      Hi bloffy 28. The lower section of the front 'bumper' gets cut off to accommodate the bullbar. The other option was to remove the whole front plastic 'bit' but I don't like that look.

    The Domin8r X does not include a Fairlead. The Domin8r Xtreme does and is a bit more expensive. Unless you already have a fairlead, or have a specific fairlead you want to use, like the Yankum Ropes Groove Fairlead, it is a no-brainer. Pay the extra $50, get a better brake, remote control, better rope and a $30 Fairlead for “free”.

    • @RustysOutbackAdventures
      @RustysOutbackAdventures  2 года назад

      When I bought the winch, I wasn't aware there was an Xtreme version, otherwise I probably would have bought it. For the small difference in price, the 'extras' are definitely worth it.

    Nice video, not as straight forward as you thought, when installing the solenoid box are you a perfectionist or pedantic in your work. As you said it would bug you being off center, and please dont take it the wrong way. And yes they should include the fairlead with the winch as a package

    • @RustysOutbackAdventures
      @RustysOutbackAdventures  3 года назад +2

      Hey Russell, all good!! Yes, it would bug me if I mounted the solenoid box 'off centre'. Apparently, the Domin8rX Extreme winch has the fairlead in the box.
