  • In today's video, I'll be installed a Safari snorkel to my Spanish built 2011 Navara D40, which is fitted with the 2.5L YD25DDTi engine.
The model number for the snorkel kit is SS731HF.
The main reason for installing the snorkel is to give the engine the best chance of breathing cool, fresh air, rather than breathing air through the front guard, where the air could be hotter.
The kit includes all the parts, including the bolts, pop rivets, templates and clamps, along with the instructions, which are very well laid out and easy to follow.
The instructions also list the required tools to complete the installation; the main one being the 105mm holesaw!
The suggested install time is 150 mins (2.5hrs) but if you allow half a day, you'll easily complete the snorkel install.

Great video Rusty, I’m sure you would get a job as a Snorkel fitter, sorry I’ve been giving you a hard time regarding fitting it before our next prospecting trip, best regards Gary

Thanks Darren. Yeah, I had a 'senior moment' but it came to me after I'd finished recording that segment!

Hey JB, I bought mine off eBay, so if you're Nav is the same as mine, just search for this: Safari V-Spec Snorkel Kit For Nissan Navara D40, Pathfinder (05/2010 - 07/2015).

Great video. If you aren’t going to drive though an y deep water you are best to leave the small lower hole open. This will allow any rain water that is sucked into the skorkel to escape.

Thanks Peter...I ended up leaving that hole 'as is', to allow for any water to drain away, as you've suggested.
