I wasn't going to buy this because I thought it was only for a certain type of music, but this looks like it can be used for any genre, I also found $23 dollars today, so I think I'll just buy it
HUGE fan of this plugin, well done! Thank you for making colour bass so easy. I’ve been saying this for a long time “I wish there was a colour bass plugin” no more side chaining vocodex etc.
@@notreally-sf3df Way cheaper! And pitch map looks more confusing. This achieves the sound that I want with one knob and key selection. Sorry that I enjoy the plugin.
@@NlCKELODEON Who gives a fuck about cheap? I've paid $15 for every year i've owned Pitchmap and it has made me 100x. If you think Pitchmap is too confusing, you'll never make anything anyone likes. It's super fucking easy.
Nasko, you are making a great contribution to the music community. Chroma is definitely something I will be purchasing soon. Not just because it's a good plugin. But also for your support. Your streams greatly influenced my perception. You are very good at doing what you need - with a minimum of things. And you get a production quality that can’t be matched by more than one “producer” storing gigabytes of plugins on his PC. This is an indicator of how important it is to learn to master what is available to you now. Which is what you are demonstrating. I rethought production a lot because of this. Which helps a lot not to be a “pirate” when living in a region where software piracy is very developed. 😁 And take off your helmet. We haven't seen you for a long time. 🥸

from the other videos i thought this was a sound design tool like as in it's a synth . so this is more for sample based producers. i am interested in your other plugin you made tho. i'm trying to make cool sounds for video games.
yooo, this whole "you can automate the band crossovers" thing makes me wonder if it would be cool to let them be keytracked. ofc that would only really make sense for monophonic midi inputs, or if there's a clear rule which notes of a chord it takes like only the lowest or only the highest ones, but could be useful
i totally agree! A smart-focus mode that figures out where the overtones/formants start and end and dynamically adjusts the crossovers sounds like smth you can even benefit from with polyphonic signals! :)
Thanks for this video, the only use I kept seeing for this plugin over and over again was color bass, and because that's such a specific sound I was thinking of not getting it. But seeing its use here with the piano sample, and the more controlled bass repitching using the automated band crossovers (avoiding the very typical color bass tonal sound), I'm slowly being convinced to get this. if you could, do you have more examples of non-colorbass uses to get a better feel for how this plugin sounds in general? if you could point me towards some video or other Id really appreciate it.
What is this really characteristic, tonal "ringing" that Chroma (seems to) add to the sounds? Is that some sort of phasing or so going on? Sounds really nice - i'd love to know.
Chroma uses minimum phase filters for processing, so phase rotation is naturally apart of it! :) thats why i recommend only processing the bits that need adjusting! The only other option is FFT/Linear phase, which comes with pre-ringing, higher cpu usage and far more latency
Chroma is so groundbreaking, my studio speakers demanded to be relocated to an art museum. Now, every time I drop a beat, they start discussing whether it’s more Cubism or Surrealism.
