in Chris video with Connor " I Tried Japan's Most INSANE Noodle Challenge" at 2:54 Chris talks about his previous video with Ryotaro and i quote "though my own record stands at a pitiful 118 bowls. When i went head to head with arch nemesis Ryotaro five years ago. tragically he beat me by just three bowls. A record I hope to crush going head to head with Connor today" That aside i'm gonna miss your vlogs after the next 6 months. Its been nice seeing a more calm approach to exploring japan and really just finding random stuff which i feel fits the spirit of these vlogs really well. keep up the great work mudan and until the last video i'll be watching!
12:30 thanks for the microphone summary. You also answered my follow-up question about if you prefer your old Mic over the new one. I think I still prefer the quality of the Rode but I can see the convince of the Hollyland with its reduced weight and longer battery life.
Whatever kind of vids you'd put in the next days, i'm sure it'll still be as entertaining. I find what entertains me most is the way you do things and talk about stuff (plus the editing of course). I find you humor refreshing and sometimes gives me smh and palm faces from time to time. Glad to see too that you've been quite comfortable now talking (to the mic) in public compared to the very first vlogs. Will you become a master vlogger in the end of this series?
I realized I've only been watching consistently for a little over a month and have watched random vlogs here and there before that. It's always nice to see what ever it is you decide to put out each day and kinda inspirational the effort that this must take to do something everyday. So thanks for doing this Mudan!
I watched since the start and made a pause, now its becoming pretty hard to catch up with all the videos and get the excitement of participating semi-live like I'm used to. A-tier video, I like the insight dense videos every month. There's so many little interesting bits of info that you might not find mentioned anywhere else
15:35 My max distance is about 10000-12000 steps (about 4-5 miles/6-8 km with my stride) with non-orthopedic shoes (right now its my allbirds sneakers) before my feet and ankles start really hurting, so your observation on the Vessis seems to check out with the sample size of just me. With my orthopedic sandals my max distance about doubles, and with my hiking boots, I can usually go up to 20 miles/32 km, but my legs will probably be sore the next day. Considering Vessis seem to be about the same price or slightly more expensive than orthopedic sneakers, I'd just go with actual orthopedic sneakers as they'd have a better build quality and probably last longer. I tend to beat up my shoes and my orthopedic ones tend to last twice as long as regular shoes.
A tier video The extra commentary on past videos are really nice, the interaction with viewers is on point and I like how you go in-depth with things (like for the new microphone or the soes). Not S tier because now I feel time is passing too quick and it gave me a small existential crisis
3:21 I didn’t really know but I noticed an odd connection with Japan and Finland. I fly to Japan via Helsinki and like half the restaurants in the airport are Japanese and everything around the airport is translated into English then Japanese then Korean.
Shibu Onsen KOKUYA Hotel in Nagano, near the snow monkey onsen park has rooms with private onsen on your balcony and then like 7/8 onsens throughout the hotel you can book with a couple being outside as well. It's obviously an expensive hotel but is a great experience, especially as a break from skiing in Shiga Kogen a little further up the valley.
Suggestion: pick a job that someone on a working holiday visa could do in Japan (e.g. delivery service, fruit picking, not sure what other options there are) and show us what it is like and what type of housing would be affordable (and possible on the visa) on the income those jobs would earn.
14:51 yeah vessi sucks, I did some researches about vessi before and found some reviews saying vessi is not that waterproof and once you vessi is soake, it will take forever to dry. The boys need more background check for sponsors (can’t believe they still do ads for betterhelp)
i remember watching moomin as a lil kid in the late 70's - very early 80's i guess it must have been shown on british tv at some stage because not many folks younger than me remember it...
If any of the videos are similar to the weird give away one. I'll be more than happy. I want to see more weird shit that comes from your mind. Thank you for these past 6 months. I am glad tog et a glimpse of your Japan journey.
I had vessi shoes when I went to Japan last year in March as well and have the share the same opinion, although the waterproof-ness was actually pretty good on mine, but I would assume that they would wear out eventually. I think also I started getting a blister on my toe due to my feet getting sweaty and my 2nd toe rubbing on my middle toe. I wore Nike Tanjun Shoes in my November trip last year, and it was a lot better for my feet not hurting. Material wise, They feel the same as Nike. But yeah, the Nike shoes were less than half the price of the Vessi shoes when I bought them.
@@pokyboss4281 He has filmed it. A older video from 7 years ago titled "Travelling Japan in style 500km in 3 days" The thump has nothing to do with the challenge but the last segment of the video is wanko soba with Ryotoro and a Taiwanese model. 118 bowls for Chris, 121 for Rizotoro
Sooo... About that crane game training montage? We should see if we could bug Connor. It would be good content for both of ya and he would get a new twist on his already popular crane game videos. PS- Washing strawberries/raspberries is not the same as washing an unpeeled banana, its like you're doing this to us on purpose.
I don't really wash fruit. Yes, there are worms and eggs inside much of the food you eat. But the same can be said for canned food, there is an acceptable level of bug parts in each container. As my mom and grandma said "If it lives in the fruit and eats the fruit, then it is also fruit.".
Major respect for showing how bad vessis are. I lived in the same city as their hq and tried their shoes when they were making and early buzz and was not impressed. Tore within 3 months and I don't even walk much. It was only waterproof for the first 2 times in rain lol
Yes, wash your fruit, but you don’t have to wash fruit that’s inside a pill or has an outer skin that you’re not gonna eat. By the way, though I don’t wash any of my fruit, I live here in Florida, which is even worse with all the pesticides lol but I feel like the germs and the bugs are probably good for the immune system.😂
Interesting because my original pair of Vessi was second generation from their Kickstarter and they're still fine. I agree their fit isn't great for long-distance walking but I've never had an issue with their waterproof-ness, never got wet feet even walking thru puddles. I got their Stormburst model early this year and wore them in Hokkaido without any issues. Maybe you got a dud.
Another recap~! Nice~! Always great to hear some follow-up stories or elaborations. As for things to include in the videos, MOAR B-ROLL~! Hell, bro, it's like the meme: Thing. Thing in JAPAN. Just show us more of the surroundings, the architecture, the vibes, the odd usages of English, that thicc booty... anything~! Thanks, fella~! What sorts of wacky things will Mudan get up to tomorrow?
hello mr mudan, i don't usually watch you, i only see u from trash taste or hear your name from the vids i watched, but you've been growing on me, your vlogs are the best thing to watch while eating, the length is just enough so that i have finished my meal and your vid at the same time, i don't usually comment, but i don't know what the count down at the start of the videos is for. that's all.
15:35 Bought Vessis because of the boys, they are shit for the price I paid. I totally agree with you, they are a serviceable shoe in the $40 range, but I can buy a much higher quality shoe for $60 that will look nicer and feel better.
This video was posted three minutes ago and is 20 minutes long, but I'm going to say this was one of the best yet! (don't make me regret my words, Mudan...)
8:41 People are worrying now that everyone can flood a location if an influencer mentions it is a concerning trend. I think it’d be better if travelers visit a wide range of places in Tokyo (and Japan in general) and not create crowds in just popular locations. While everyone says Teamlab is overcrowded, I visited an empty one in Okinawa. So yeah.
You could make a vídeo learning acting with Pete; a bad cosplay video with Connor; and a date with Chris where you hug him, feed him in the mouth and who knows where it ends

I'm really not surprised about Vessi's being like that. It's always suspicious when a brand from an established industry starts advertising through youtubers instead of other means. Almost all these products that are commonly recommended by youtubers through sponsors have been found to be mid at best
6 months and still going, I might not need the number for the japanese police after all. Also for your receiver problem: it moves and you don't want it to, ducttape time
3:00 This month has been a lot of "I'm going to X/doing Y/eating Z"-vlogs and that's it, so I def agree that vibes being very loose. Little storytelling, just a personal travel vlog. Not meaning to be harsh, but let's say this ain't exactly the height of online video content. For example, I think your metro video would've been way more compelling if you hooked it on the troubles and problems you mentioned here instead of just "look it be the mudan man underground for a day". CC Onsen: Just go public. The actual bathing facility will be much bigger and way nicer than any remotely affordable private onsen will ever be.
I would be interested how well the daily Vlogs are doing compared to "regular" videos. Especially if you see a difference how much you get paid, if you are comfortable sharing that.
I find it interesting how bad your Vessi shoes are. I’ve had mine for more than a year and they are still in perfect condition and I’ve walked in water/rain without any issue while my husband’s non-vessi shoes were soaked. Maybe it’s the style or their quality went down hill? However, after a year I finally realized that they are too tight on me, but I don’t think a bigger size would help. It’s disappointing because I love them.
