I was probably the ONLY person looking forward to this card when it was first announced because it was a pcie 1x nvidia gpu, and I was curious about using it as an add in card to run rtx voice with my 5700xt. RtxVoice worked on my 750ti so I assumed it would on the 710 as well. Since this card wasn’t out yet, I ordered the Zotac 710 that had the 1x pcie slot, the only other one in existence and the newest gpu with a 1x connector. But alas, not only did it not work, it gave me shadow artifacting in r6 siege for months until I safeboot and ddu’d the Nvidia drivers. Maybe this one would work since they did something to it to allow for 4k60, could you give it a try for a video? Using it as a cheap add in card for rtx voice for us AMD holdouts would be a great experiment content piece for you to try.
I expect RTX Voice to use tensor cores and be AI based. But in the past Nvidia turned off PhysX if an AMD card was in the PC and have "optimised" games to run their old cards slower to force some upgrades

@@gaeborg depends if there's an 16x pcie slot. doesn't matter too much what generation. all pcie slots are backwards and forwards compatible with significant bottlenecking based on generation of the card to generation of the slot (1st gen runs REALLY slow but still can run a 1080ti no problem, just that it clocks *MUCH* lower than advertised)

(be sure to get a B-550 motherboard for better compatibility down the line)
@@Seflyx GT 1030 is actually not bad so is the 3570. My second system has a i7-3770 with MSI GT 1030 (Dell optiplex 9010 SFF) and it runs games at a pretty playable framerate on respectable graphics. Don't feel so bad :)
@Infamous I only bought it cause there is nothing in the market rn. Everything is sold out to hell I just bought it and I wouldn't play anything that hasn't been out for less than 11 years. So you can play the Sims, ps2 games lol valorant and wow on low. Minecraft runs but that's it.it runs. Some indie games work just fine. Definitely upgrading in the next 6 months hopefully
@Infamous it's only 50$ so I got it just so I can get by (I have a Xbox series x so I'm not desperate ) of anything check ebay for second hand GPUs the radeon 5600 is abundant new and used for around 400$-600$ and it will run everything in 1080.
I work in a customer service center and we use 2 monitors, in one of the rooms there are stacked like 20+ boxes of these things which are used for the multi display function

@@RobBCactive Indeed. You can stack a few of them together, even on a regular mainboard which has just one x16 slot without the need of adapters. It is also useful if you need a passthrough GPU for VMs, it is cheap and fits in any PCIe slot. Now all we need is a low-profile version with 2x2 HDMI ports for small office PCs! By the way, there is a passive cooled GTX 1650 (Palit KalmX) if noise matters but you want basic game performance.
As someone who initially started his gaming journey on a 1GB HD5870, any graphics card that has 2 gigs or more of GDDR5 is beautiful in my eyes. Going from that thing to a 6GB 1060 in 2016 was like witchcraft, and then moving up to an RTX 2070 was absolutely god-like.
Started with an HD4400 then "upgraded" to a gt 420 for 100 usd, realized it was weaker than my integrated graphics, realized i got scammed, never bought from local stores anymore and always order from overseas.
I still remember what it was like to go from a regular laptop to a PC with an i7-7700K and a GTX 1070. I literally couldn't believe what I was experiencing. The jump to an i9-10900K and RTX3080 wasn't as surprising, but still great.

Honestly, I just picked up this card from Amazon for around $94. Mainly did it for a side-card in order to run my Huion graphics tablet, but it's not bad for what's meant for, running multiple displays while being a low power, low form factor card. Though it does indeed suck that even it's price was effected by the recent wave.
"Why this card got re-released?" Simple. Office solutions. There isn't many offices that use VGA or DVI, and not many cheap GPUs have more that 1 HDMI port. Although it's the most price-y card in GT 710 line.
Most of the office monitors I see around me have no HDMI, nor DP inputs, only VGA and DVI. They were purchased about 2 years ago, to replace the 15 yr old CRTs.
this is perfect for my i3-3225 emulation system.I let my friend install a new gpu into my emulation computer to show him how to work on them, he didnt know graphics cards locked in place and tugged on the card slot and it completely tore out the entire pcie-16x slot and all it has now is a 1x slot :)

Thanks for the informative review the card is obviously aimed at multi display workstations. Thanks to you i found out that it cannot drive 4 screens at 60 hz which is bit of a letdown and a reason for me to look for other options for a 6 screen workstation.
"Notorius" Howso? It's being sold and marketed as a MONITOR card, not a graphics card. And it does that task surprisingly well given the cost to ports offered. So many offices use these for multi monitor uses on iGPU based PCs.
My workplace just bought 50 of these for more monitors and HDMI ports, and the fact it can run in a half height, single slot, 180 watt configuration. Graphics acceleration is a non issue.
It’s perfect for upgrading older business systems to hdmi/dp, I have an old business sff that’s still good enough for office but it has 1 dvi out and 1 vga and only an x1 pcie slot
same it plays gta 5 on a settings without constant stuttering i been told my previous expansion graphics card didnt nor did any pc i own so. yeah. im over sobbing in pity that i paid 80 for this POS but hey im not gonna lose out on free content week at gtav. I think I bought this as a replacement for my intermittent symptom-ed 8400GS on a Dual Core Quad system. I looked for a similar generation card to replace it that can play Left 4 Dead but seems those shops no longer hawk "vintage" graphics cards. I asked for a new one and they offered me this and assured me that this is the most baseline card that I am looking for. The box has everything needed to make it an easy install and to my delight it ran better than the old card. Score!
For a small and cheap GPU it's kinda decent, I guess. I mean, it's a a 710, gotta give it props to run new games, even if it's a not an all good performance. If you wanna play CS GO or or some average graphics MMO, you can get it done pretty fine.
Just built a new PC for my dad with one of these... and an i9-10850k Just wanted to have the old ports so he could plug the old VGA screens in lol, and I guess take one small task away from the cpu to keep that a little cooler and hence the PC quieter (used NH-D15 and covered every blank metal surface in the PC with insulation for sound dampening lol)
I used to own GT210, back when my 8800 died. Could run Windows, watch movies, even play Minecraft and League of Legends and thats was enough to kill time and have fun, really humbling experience. Now I have RX5700 and I'm like "Only 60fps in CP77 on high, damn is this good enough?"
I do work in a museum and those gt710 are actually used for multi-monitor setups to run Videos or interactive 2D Games They don't consume much power, are small and completely silent.
The 710 is actually a good card and let me tell you why. I am currently running Linux as my main operating system. For my school and work however, I need to run some virtual machines, like a Debian machine and a Kali machine. I am also running a Windows machine, just because I need it for Microsoft Office which is not supported on Linux. I am currently running a Ryzen 3800X and a Radeon RX5700XT, so I've got good specs to run some virtual machines. I use the Linux machine for gaming, BUT when I'm running Linux for MS Word for example, it's just laggy. Like, it's responsive, because of the fast CPU, but I've got no GPU passthrough because the Ryzen 3800X has no on-board graphics and I am using my GPU for Linux. I have 2 PCI-e slots free in my PC, one 16x below my GPU, and one 1x below that other slot. If I put a GPU in the 16x, it would obstruct my GPU fans, so this card is THE PERFECT option for people running multiple machines at once, running at near native performance. It’s important to remember this is for situations like a Point-of-Sale machine, or some other industrial use case where multiple monitors are needed for a low cost.
I have one of these bad boys over-clocked ( GDDR5 Version ) with the memory +100mhz and core clock +300mhz for around 10% more performance. Runs rocket league at around 50 - 65 fps highish settings at 768 x 1360. I am impressed. Everything else kinda fails though if the 1GB of vram is exceeded...

makes sense although somewhat depressing you'd think 650 ti clear up to 1650 series could be re released instead so that these systems wouldnt have graphical lag. these super low end video cards shouldn't exist brand new and if they did they should be 30 buck versions. id like to see 4xx to 7xx somewhat devalued by them but clearly not the case those cards have held their value especially after more people are retro gaming inside with lockdowns.
sigh ... Meanwhile in 2021 the GT 710 2GB GDDR5 remains about $60, while the GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 is about $180 and up to the Moon. At least it's good enough to put in an 'older' system, to be given away or to sell. Got to hold on to those 'old' 1070 Ti's.

Honestly, I just picked up this card from Amazon for around $94. Mainly did it for a side-card in order to run my Huion graphics tablet, but it's not bad for what's meant for, running multiple displays while being a low power, low form factor card. Though it does indeed suck that even it's price was effected by the recent wave.

Simple. Office solutions. There isn't many offices that use VGA or DVI, and not many cheap GPUs have more that 1 HDMI port. Although it's the most price-y card in GT 710 line.
Most of the office monitors I see around me have no HDMI, nor DP inputs, only VGA and DVI. They were purchased about 2 years ago, to replace the 15 yr old CRTs.

One of the reasons the GT 710 became so popular was due to the resurgence in Minecraft, and was a very capable card
This will be the best GPU you can buy for any PC that only has a PCI-e x1 slot for some reason
this is perfect for my i3-3225 emulation system.I let my friend install a new gpu into my emulation computer to show him how to work on them, he didnt know graphics cards locked in place and tugged on the card slot and it completely tore out the entire pcie-16x slot and all it has now is a 1x slot :)

Thanks for the informative review the card is obviously aimed at multi display workstations. Thanks to you i found out that it cannot drive 4 screens at 60 hz which is bit of a letdown and a reason for me to look for other options for a 6 screen workstation.

Howso? It's being sold and marketed as a MONITOR card, not a graphics card. And it does that task surprisingly well given the cost to ports offered. So many offices use these for multi monitor uses on iGPU based PCs.
My workplace just bought 50 of these for more monitors and HDMI ports, and the fact it can run in a half height, single slot, 180 watt configuration. Graphics acceleration is a non issue.

This is actually excellent for GPU passthtough for a VM if you don’t need to play games with it. That pcie x1 is a lifesaver for many.

It’s perfect for upgrading older business systems to hdmi/dp, I have an old business sff that’s still good enough for office but it has 1 dvi out and 1 vga and only an x1 pcie slot

same it plays gta 5 on a settings without constant stuttering i been told my previous expansion graphics card didnt nor did any pc i own so. yeah. im over sobbing in pity that i paid 80 for this POS but hey im not gonna lose out on free content week at gtav. I bought the GT710 in 2017 thinking it wasn't a very good GPU (my pc is old and I still have it), and now we have it again
I think I bought this as a replacement for my intermittent symptom-ed 8400GS on a Dual Core Quad system. I looked for a similar generation card to replace it that can play Left 4 Dead but seems those shops no longer hawk "vintage" graphics cards. I asked for a new one and they offered me this and assured me that this is the most baseline card that I am looking for. The box has everything needed to make it an easy install and to my delight it ran better than the old card. Score!
They should make an ASUS ROG version of this, just so you can pretend to have something pretty and powerful in your toaster

Just built a new PC for my dad with one of these... and an i9-10850k
Just wanted to have the old ports so he could plug the old VGA screens in lol, and I guess take one small task away from the cpu to keep that a little cooler and hence the PC quieter (used NH-D15 and covered every blank metal surface in the PC with insulation for sound dampening lol)
I used to own GT210, back when my 8800 died. Could run Windows, watch movies, even play Minecraft and League of Legends and thats was enough to kill time and have fun, really humbling experience. Now I have RX5700 and I'm like "Only 60fps in CP77 on high, damn is this good enough?"
I do work in a museum and those gt710 are actually used for multi-monitor setups to run Videos or interactive 2D Games
They don't consume much power, are small and completely silent.
2GB of vram seems way too low nowadays then again some people are using intel HD to play red dead 2 so why not lol
2gb vram is like enough to play at 720p medium most games

The 710 is actually a good card and let me tell you why.
I am currently running Linux as my main operating system. For my school and work however, I need to run some virtual machines, like a Debian machine and a Kali machine. I am also running a Windows machine, just because I need it for Microsoft Office which is not supported on Linux. I am currently running a Ryzen 3800X and a Radeon RX5700XT, so I've got good specs to run some virtual machines. I use the Linux machine for gaming, BUT when I'm running Linux for MS Word for example, it's just laggy. Like, it's responsive, because of the fast CPU, but I've got no GPU passthrough because the Ryzen 3800X has no on-board graphics and I am using my GPU for Linux.
I have 2 PCI-e slots free in my PC, one 16x below my GPU, and one 1x below that other slot. If I put a GPU in the 16x, it would obstruct my GPU fans, so this card is THE PERFECT option for people running multiple machines at once, running at near native performance.

We use a few of these for backups
I have one of these bad boys over-clocked ( GDDR5 Version ) with the memory +100mhz and core clock +300mhz for around 10% more performance. Runs rocket league at around 50 - 65 fps highish settings at 768 x 1360. I am impressed. Everything else kinda fails though if the 1GB of vram is exceeded...

I think this card also is appreciated for Linux users/ 'open source lovers' due to the great compatibility with the open source drivers.

makes sense although somewhat depressing you'd think 650 ti clear up to 1650 series could be re released instead so that these systems wouldnt have graphical lag. these super low end video cards shouldn't exist brand new and if they did they should be 30 buck versions. id like to see 4xx to 7xx somewhat devalued by them but clearly not the case those cards have held their value especially after more people are retro gaming inside with lockdowns.
sigh ... Meanwhile in 2021 the GT 710 2GB GDDR5 remains about $60, while the GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 is about $180 and up to the Moon.
At least it's good enough to put in an 'older' system, to be given away or to sell. Got to hold on to those 'old' 1070 Ti's.
The gt 710 ddr5 version is a great option to bring some life into those old core 2 quad office pc's on the cheap
