Why did the gamer bring a GT 210 1GB DDR3 to a high-end gaming convention? Because they wanted to show everyone what retro gaming felt like in real-time!
2:54 well... Not in hardware at least, Nvidia's DX11 family is vast and depending on the game's never specifically mentioned basically trial and error guess work requirements, you can absolutely play even DX11.1 games that require Windows 8 and still technically function. I can vouch for myself for I have spent 8 good months in Crossout in 2019 where I ran my NVS 2100M in a 32 bit Windows 7 environment with 3GB of RAM and guess what, I played it just fine at a blissful-ly painful 1024x720p 50% resolution scale in the lowest settings and enjoyed over 30fps in the desert areas.
I'm on Linux using Nvidia proprietary drivers and my NVS 2100M delivers Minecraft 1.19.4 Optifine at full screen 900p 50% scale=1131x636 4 chunks on open fields in 45fps and it's quite playable. Even without Optifine 1.20.2 runs great underground in 50-60fps in my custom 1134x638 window. Sounds strangely inconsistent considering Optifine's supposed to IMPROVE-performance but. I do have plans to switch to Mint 21.3 for Pulseaudio 15 allowing aptX&LDAC support and to get DRI 3 and most importantly-EGL support for OBS 28 and onwards.
watching this in 2024 to feel better about my 3060ti that everyone suddenly thinks is bad. But seriously, that 210 is still great for browser stuff, dual monitors with a lot of documents, just enough for social media.
i love that case. i have the black one. you should throw some Noctua redux in it...lol. i would love to see if they color blend with it well without having to purchase it first.
6:30 actually the drivers aren't really that much of a concern. I ran Linux on an NVS 2100M for 10 months and tested the Mini Displayport 1.1 connection to my 3440x1440p monitor just to see the limits and it ran at DP 1.1s maximum setting-3440x1440 59.97hz. HDMI 1.4 would just b 50hz at that resolution. Linux proprietary drivers allowed me to get away with so much more than the default Windows driver would allow. Windows would just have it's driver upscale 900p to 1080p displays rather than render them. And for craps and giggles I run Minecraft at 3440x1440p 50% scale, didn't run well.
I'm still waiting to upgrade my GT 220 - though I'm not a gamer. I build a new system but for budget reasons had to stick with my old graphics card. New thermal paste and good cooling in my new case keeps it alive. And I think you should credit Nvidia for upgrading drivers for this for more than 7 years.
I have one of those Nvidia GT 210 DDR3 2 GB of vram It is on my grand father's pc and it has 2007 parts because they bought the parts on 2007 and runs like garbage because it's an Intel Pentium E2200 and an hard drive with Windows 8.1 Pro 32 bit and a ticking time bomb inside it (Power Supply) and 4 GB of DDR2 800mhz of ram (previously 2 GB of ram) and a P5KPL-AM Motherboard. It can barely run CS:GO and other games. Great video as always 😀.
Dawid, you should compare youtube video playback capability too. For instance I have a GT 210 and GT 610. The maximum video they can both play is 1080p 30fps which I tested using the browser extension h264ify to switch between 1080p 60fps and 30fps on youtube. I have no idea how they compare to the GT 710. It might be a lot better, or it might be exactly the same.
G'day Dawid, I love these videos, you make them so much fun while being informative, just wondering if you have considered doing a video with the (Yeston) Radeon RX550 Low Profile 4GB GDDR5, here in Australia they are about the same price as a GT1030 LP 2GB GDDR5 & even new are cheaper than a used GTX750/Ti LP or GTX1050/TI LP I was given a HP SFF so I thought I could add one of these & then donate it to a local underprivileged kid 😁
How about some office-use case benchmarks? 4K60 output? 4K60 streaming? Maximum number of monitors? A practical example of this is the question "Is the Asus GT 710 good enough for 4x 4K60 general office use?" We KNOW neither can game. We KNOW both no longer have a reasonable use case since integrated GPU's surpassed them. The 4x HDMI GT 710 is interesting.. It has the outputs, does it have the chops to drive them?
Hey as you already have GeForce 210 can you compare it with HD 630 iGPU's form 7th gen intel processor (i3 7100 has it) Please! It would be totally fair comparison GeForce 210 1GB DDR3 vs HD 630 !! ❤
Got one of these free, slapped it into a pentium 4 desktop pc with windows xp & 1.5 gb ram, does alright in anything 2004 & older, specially compared too the integrated graphics from 2004 that pc came with.
Yeah, you can also find a low profile GT 1030 in a single-slot configuration (Gigabyte makes one - GV-N1030D5-2GL) for not a whole lot more money than a GT 710 and will outperform a GT 710 on any metric. I bought one for a Dell USFF build (so only a single slot card will fit), where I'm replacing the original i3-4310 with an i5-4590S, an aftermarket Arctic low profile cooler (because we all know Intel stock coolers are what peasants resort to), a hard drive to SSD upgrade and a RAM upgrade.
Your GT 210 seemed to do perfectly fine under Windows 10...my GT 220 does not like being used under Win10, it be spitting out a shit ton of artifacts even during the setup, installing drivers didn|t change it. But it works flawlessly under windows xp...any idea why that could be?
Next Up, 210/710/APU (actually the question would be how low down the line do you go before you are performing poorer than an APU). However, yes, these display adapter cards really should not be over 20 Canadian dollars (or the equivalent 7 dollars US).

I still have that exact same MSI 210. I originally got it for a Lenovo ThinkCentre in the early 10's because I was a poor grad student and it didn't fit. I ended up getting a new PC, and never used it because by that point I could afford a better video card. Poor 210

The 210 was actually the first GPU I ever bought, back in 2016 to upgrade the PC I used at the time because it couldn’t run The Binding of Isaac Rebirth.
I have a MSI geforce 210 with 512mb DDR2. The vram is physically stamped "ATI" but doesn't list it's brand in GPU-Z. I'm curious if nvidia bought ATI ram or did MSI mix and match.
Just built a computer yesterday with a gt210. It is all I had to put into it to get an HDMI port. Thank you for this I won't bother installing games on it now.
I actually have gt210 in use right now. I let it earn me points on sheepit render farm and since it takes long to render it doesn't use up all my data for the month. This let's me do my thing on my monster PC and when it comes time to render projects I have accumulated enough points to get hours of rendering done in less than an hour.

Dawid did you try over-clocking GF 210 and comparing it with HD 630 (7th gen intel cpus igpu)
See this video gives me hope cuz I just bought the 710 because that's all I could afford and I was so scared it wouldnt be atleast decent
The one time you see FPS scores and go wow the 710 is a beast haha
Dawid you should've overclocked GT 210 1GB DDR3 model and then benchmark
Hi, Is the GT 210 good for watching several Full HD RUclips videos in same time ?
@BHARATH YT Nah
The VGA port driving a CRT monitor on my B550 motherboard cries a bit every time Dawid calls it a dinosaur
Also, I coincidentally have a GT 210 humming away in my PC, which doesn't work at all because I can't successfully install any drivers for it lol
i guess that's the exact point of the gt 210. To post a screen but be virtually unusable for gaming. For school, enterprise and library computers.
Linus videos: YO DBRAND, I need 150k for sponsors
DDTS videos: YO SKILLSHARE, I need $20 for sponsorship s
Dawid, you should compare youtube video playback capability too. For instance I have a GT 210 and GT 610. The maximum video they can both play is 1080p 30fps which I tested using the browser extension h264ify to switch between 1080p 60fps and 30fps on youtube. I have no idea how they compare to the GT 710. It might be a lot better, or it might be exactly the same.
dawid: opens new tab to browse amazon
all gt 710's within a 10 page radius: (chuckles) I am in danger
Ralph?
G'day Dawid,
I love these videos, you make them so much fun while being informative,
just wondering if you have considered doing a video with the (Yeston) Radeon RX550 Low Profile 4GB GDDR5,
here in Australia they are about the same price as a GT1030 LP 2GB GDDR5 & even new are cheaper than a used GTX750/Ti LP or GTX1050/TI LP
I was given a HP SFF so I thought I could add one of these & then donate it to a local underprivileged kid 😁
I think if the express lane of the new gt 710 is x16 instead of i think it was x4 then the gt 710 could be a good graphics card than its old self.
Good video. You need to make a 3 way benchmark video with a gt 610!
How about some office-use case benchmarks?
4K60 output?
4K60 streaming?
Maximum number of monitors?
A practical example of this is the question "Is the Asus GT 710 good enough for 4x 4K60 general office use?"
We KNOW neither can game.
We KNOW both no longer have a reasonable use case since integrated GPU's surpassed them.
The 4x HDMI GT 710 is interesting..
It has the outputs, does it have the chops to drive them?
I don't care much about the content, but I love hearing IT Crowd's Roy talking about computers.
I used a 210 for 7 years and upgraded it to a 1050ti 2 years ago, so I guess i have to wait 5 years more to finally get a 3070
Just watched your stream for the first time 🔥
Hey as you already have GeForce 210 can you compare it with HD 630 iGPU's form 7th gen intel processor (i3 7100 has it) Please!
I have a gt 210 and hd 630 what should I do remove gt 210? Somebody help me a comparison video would make my day
It would be nice for Nvidia to make a low-low end Ampere card, for like 6 monitor setups where you only need CPU muscle
i have gt 210 1gb ddr3 and hd 630 from i3 7100 should i remove 210 only thing am using it to get 100hz on my monitor through hdmi??
Your GT 210 seemed to do perfectly fine under Windows 10...my GT 220 does not like being used under Win10, it be spitting out a shit ton of artifacts even during the setup, installing drivers didn|t change it. But it works flawlessly under windows xp...any idea why that could be?
you still can buy this GPUs because the will mostly used in Office Pcs, where you dont need the Power for Gaming
May I suggest: GT210 VS GT710 VS GT730 VS *WISH* *GRAPHICS* *CARDS*
“Deatmatch arena of death” 😂 💀
Next Up, 210/710/APU (actually the question would be how low down the line do you go before you are performing poorer than an APU). However, yes, these display adapter cards really should not be over 20 Canadian dollars (or the equivalent 7 dollars US).
You need to try the Quadro K2200 because it's cheap, has 4GB of GDDR5 and acts like a low power GTX 1050
Hi! I thought your video was great, if you see any spelling mistakes, it's that I'm using the translator because I'm from Argentina and I don't know much English
I have a challenger : the mighty Gt 705 !
It's only 1/4 of the cores of the GT 710 and half the TMUs and ROPs but with a power draw of 29W (19W for the GT 710 for comparison !). I still don't understand why is card was created !
It's hilarious that you did this because the family PC is still running with a GT 220. I really need to upgrade them to something a little more modern.
Thankfully im only using the 210 as integrated graphics with my 5800x until i get another gpu
Gt210 extreme overclock with a AIO or dry ice or liquid nitrogen. Would be nice I guess
GT 210 vs HD 5450 Deathmatch when?
I still have that exact same MSI 210. I originally got it for a Lenovo ThinkCentre in the early 10's because I was a poor grad student and it didn't fit. I ended up getting a new PC, and never used it because by that point I could afford a better video card. Poor 210
Oh wow, I thought the 210 and 710 were similar in performance. Interesting.
Hey bro please reply My PC is in a strange situation:
-> i have i3 7100 (7th gen) with 12 GB DDR4 RAM (8GB + 4GB both 2400Mhz+) and GeForce 210 1GB DDR3
So is hd630 better than GT 210 please help me????
Deathmatch arena of death? 😂🤣😂. Really had to reinforce this is to the death. This alone nets you a sub sir.
When's your next stream? I forgot what days and I just have email notifications on lol
Later today!! He streams Wednesday’s & Saturday’s at 11 am pst :)
@@AnnaDoes Thank you!
You should try stuffs like HD8490 which costs like 10$-20$ and can do some gaming for its 10$-20$ price
After my 1060 broke I started gaming on a gt710 and it's honestly not that bad.
Dawid, I love you and I love your content. Your voice belongs in a Star Wars movie.
The listing you show for the 210 is $41 usd, i recently got an i3 8100 and a gt 730 from ebay for $38 usd $23 for the cpu $15 for the gpu, amazons pricing on old low end hardware is atrocious even now 3 years later the gt 210 sells for $35 on amazon
Wow, that's a sharp looking motherboard you got there! Which one is that?
Amazon today GT210 $36-44
GT 710 $37-54
GT 730 ~$76
GT 1030 ~$89
RX 550 ~$65 -180 64-128 bit 2-4 GB DDR5 low profile $86-120 search
GT730 seems to have advantages for gaming, otherwise not so much
R7 240 seems about same GPUBoss
Surprisingly GPUBoss is showing GT 710, RX 550, GT 1030 about equal in gaming but RX550 and GT1030 do detail much better
Opinions on best buys?
The 210 was actually the first GPU I ever bought, back in 2016 to upgrade the PC I used at the time because it couldn’t run The Binding of Isaac Rebirth.
Great video. I like it.
Could you try this Asus gt 710 in 4 monitor mode? playing videos and else to see how the performance is in a business or trading envirement?
I have a MSI geforce 210 with 512mb DDR2.
The vram is physically stamped "ATI" but doesn't list it's brand in GPU-Z.
I'm curious if nvidia bought ATI ram or did MSI mix and match.
Just built a computer yesterday with a gt210. It is all I had to put into it to get an HDMI port. Thank you for this I won't bother installing games on it now.
Sadly a lot of stuff I still use out in the server style world is still using VGA. So the lack of a VGA port is a point against the GT 710
A local computer store in my country sells the 210 as it's GPU. I immediately went NOPE.
Gotta come to the Alberta side of the rockies and do some air-cooled overclocking when its -40
I actually have gt210 in use right now. I let it earn me points on sheepit render farm and since it takes long to render it doesn't use up all my data for the month. This let's me do my thing on my monster PC and when it comes time to render projects I have accumulated enough points to get hours of rendering done in less than an hour.
The 210 and 710 were my first gpus before i finally got a 1030. Let me tell you, after using the 210 and 710 for years the 1030 feels like a $300 gpu
Get a gtx 950
