You will find that when spraying transparent colors like red, yellow, or light blue, white primer will deliver a better finish and it isn't so hard to cover everything evenly. Painting red with a darker primer can bight you in the butt with tiger stripes showing through.
That had crossed my mind about the primer colour. I was trying to keep the budget down on this build so I used what I had on hand for product in terms of primer. Surprisingly the red covered amazing. I was expecting much worse coverage but this stuff covered really well. The tiger stripes can also happen from inconsistent overlap.

That would be a hard choice to make. She is a keeper! I may have to sell the miata at some point though.
Any idea what the OEM SU red is ? Is it 2K ?
The OEM Red is a single stage from factory. I also put on a single stage SU red from PPG. Its a perfect match.The door jambs were original paint and I only painted where needed in there. There is no to very little sun fade in the door jambs and the colour matches perfectly in this location.

what type of light fixtures do you have available. Where would be a good place to connect outside of RUclips on this? I might be interested in doing a review. I find my older vehicles lighting is not adequate enough any more.
