Loved the “tier point run” concept, I’d love to see video series on how you plan, book and then review the flights. Kinda a behind the scenes. I know there will be many of us who fly regularly who’d love to build up lost status once the lock down clears. They may even be a few good deals on offer as the airlines get back up on their feet again. It could also be a nice way to help support them too.
For instance, why American and not BA? For BA status - just fun? Or better points / cheaper flights? Could you have used a mix of one world airlines ? BA & AA? I know BA’s system is different to star alliance, so I’ve had Platinum membership with AerLingus but not been able to use the BA lounge, etc.
Keep up the awesome videos, stay safe!

I actually love these "weird" seats. Your feet can move freely especially when lying flat. For the other configuration, your feet would be stuck in a cubby-hole, especially when lying flat, and the table was not fully retractable and it would restrict any movement when lying flat . I just flew in one of these "weird" seats facing backward on American Airlines, and there's even enough room for me to sleep sideway because everything including the tv was fully retractable. I never liked a backward-facing seat on a bus or train, but it didn't bother me a bit on a plane. At one point during the flight, I even thought I was facing forward because the flight was so smooth. I flew on Air Canada before with a cubby-hole seat and I absolutely hated it. I rather fly premium economy than a cubby-hole business class seat.

For your 3 legged trip did you book separate tickets or one big ticket with a stopover? If I remember correctly seat guru also has all the seats facing forward! Anyway the seat is not that bad it still beats Delta's 767 seat
I found the biggest issue with the seat was the narrow foot space in bed mode, and if you're in any kind of relaxed position the IFES is very far away and those side controls are worthless (for the IFES)

Just 11 months ago and it shows how fast things can change when circumstances do - all those retired aircraft for instance. I wonder if we'll ever return to those days. Makes me very sad. Humanity is about sharing and interacting. If that goes because of fear, I question whether it's worth it.

I will do about anything to avoid changing planes in Heathrow. Long miles of corridors, up and down stairs and escalators, hopping on shuttle buses, redoing security. A much needed inside of security tram system would be their best solution, but I don't see that happening.

Even a pain going from a flight from the continent to transfer to a flight to JFK inside of the same terminal (T5, US passport holder) have to get on the people mover, go on a quest for the “transfer” area, scan your tickets and passports, get rid of any bottled water (but I was just on an airplane with this!) go upstairs, back through the security lane... only to find that your JFK flight is back out in the satellite gates, so it’s back onto the people mover again! (Thankfully we had a decent layover to allow for eating a late lunch, can’t imagine doing that with a 30 minute connection! Probably best to not try it at all.)

My one and only experience with American Airlines was going to the US for the first time. My foot was almost chucked at me with the words "here", and a strange steward stood at the back who did nothing. I honestly thought he was some sort of security.

At least the seating is 1-2-1, sort of. My wife and I flew BA 777 LHR-JFK in 2017. I was totally taken aback by the 2-4-2 configuration in business class. We now fly SingaporeAir via FRA instead.

HI, I'm INTERESTED IN THE AIRPLANE'S ACTUAL ASSIGNED NO. LIKE: N514AS IS the 737 ON ALASKA. I LIKE TO FIND THE "LINE" NO. OF THE PLANES from their company no.s, if you could include their "Tail Numbers" in the commentary with your airplane stats please! THAT SHOWs IT'S CONSTRUCTION CONFIG AND DATE BUILD from the Airplanes Assigned no. I'M A FORMER BOEING 777 ASSEMBLER/QA Inspector. WORKED on all lines except the 757, 717, & old (retired) 727! I worked on the rebuild of the first 777, owned by United who gave up it's config to be a 777-100 [no center tank!] which was converted to a 777-200 (center tank there, just not hooked-up!) with a -300 design interior added and SEATS, in Charcoal, grey, and red and white piping in 2000, for their new CUSTOMER, Cathay Pacific! They bought her for a song! Less than it's $80mil worth (now over $100Million normally for that model) in 2000, and had service flights from Hong Kong to Australia in Round trip Flights over the course of it's commercial service after being the 1st Full test airplane! I never got to fly her but she retired after 18 yrs of service to an Arizona Flight Museum. LOOK For WA-001 as a way to find her! Sweet looking lady in Cathay Colours. I found from your flight no. and date you flew, I could back date the flight on Flightdata24 and go to your flights specs. I found all I needed except the line no. Which is found by clicking on the "photo" for the www.jetphotos.com/photo/9699015?Android&Referral&Android+App website to give me info to view and got these statistics. Wahla! The line no. was 358, built in June and delivered in Aug. of 2001, just after my transfer & assignment to the 737 program, making this 777, which is 18 1/2 yrs old then, when you took this flight in Jan. 9f 2020. After a 3 yr, 9-11 Layoff, I came back to 777 for two years and then was assigned to the 787 on the first 4 airplanes for construction and inspection of build... interesting differences. Have you been to Boeing And Airbus plants? YOU should go, and ask for the Commercial Airplanes VP incharge of 777, 787, 747-8, and 767 programs, to take you on a personal tour, If she could, and show you what I experperiences for over 10 years in Everettn WA...but ask about filming. BECAUSE they won't even let you use CELL PHONES anywhere! so get permission to get filming and criteria to, and what you can shoot. IF YOU GET GOOD GENERAL PERMISSION VIDEOn make your raw available to them too, YOUXLL MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY?. PICKY ABOUT NEW BIRDS ESPECIALLY THE new All composite wing and tail of the 777X-9, CARBON FIBER FOLDING WINGS! Made Right there in a factory build 3/4ths the size of that mile long main bldg! VERY TOUCHIE! BUT A COOL BIRD! AND BIG! THE LARGEST TWIN AISLE 2 ENGINE BIRD WITH 235 FT OF WING SPAN! BEAUTIFUL GAL! FIND AND WATCH THE 777X RUclips VIDEO ON FIRST FLIGHT AND LANDING! Last year in 2019.
