      @Francisco Leyva Martin who cares!! caiman are no push overs. who cares about the pecking order of these reptiles. some people say crocodile is more dangerous than alligators and they are probably more dangerous than caiman. But who frigging cares . The jaguar is still impressive and the caiman is not a soft target although my money is on the jaguar. Leopards hunt crocodiles and are quite successful. oddly enough although the lion is stronger than the leopard or Jaguar I know the African crocodiles would prefer staring up at the face of a lion than the leopard and if the jaguar lived in Africa which it does not it would prefer to see the lion's face than the jaguar.

    What's the difference between jaguar and leopard 🐆

    • @FiveZeroSafaris
      @FiveZeroSafaris  3 года назад

      The easiest way to tell the difference is by which continent they are in. Jaguars are only in the Americas, with leopards in Africa and Asia. Leopards are about half the size on average.
      It can be tricky in pictures - the best is to look at the density of the rosettes (spots). They are far larger in jaguars and not so closely packed together. Hope that helps.

    Caimans are in the crocodile family, but they are not crocodiles.
    I have to add something so that this becomes clearer to everyone:
    - We do not call a lion a tiger, because it is in the cat family.
    - A dromedary (one hump) is in the camel family (family camelidae), but it is still a dromedary, and we should name it a dromedary and not a camel (2 humps).
    A lot says camel about the dromedary. In that case, they must add "somali camel" or "arabian camel", or it will be wrong.
    But the right thing is, if there is one hump, it is called a dromedary.
    This is about teaching those who read this to use the right terminology. If not, people will repeatedly say things wrong, and others will follow their mistakes. This in turn leads to misunderstandings in certain contexts.
    I am thinking here of other errors that are said within the English language. There are too many incompetent people who comment on things they do not really know.
