The way the leopard defends himself against lions is incredible: the back on the ground to protect his spine, those front claws wide open to grab and hurt whoever wants to do a front attack. But all those lions surrounding him were way too many: impossible not being subjected to injuries and getting tired quickly.
Then that final bite closed the fight.

Incredible footage! This isn’t a juvenile, sick, or injured individual. This is an adult male leopard in what appears to be prime condition. Hell of a fight it put up. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Could happen to any individual of any species at any time.

That’s why I have great respect for animals and I always say animals are more intelligent than humans because the dumb ones wouldn’t have made it. It’s also the concept of “survival of the fittest”. Human society nowadays is doing everything we can to go against this rule of nature, save the ones who shouldn’t have survived. Imo this will lead to destruction of the human race.

Also an adult lioness will not lose a fight to a leopard, male or female. Leopards are afraid hyenas and lose fights to them, who are afraid of lions and lose fights to them one on one and sometimes in pride vs clan clashes. Even they have to have to have lions even lionesses outnumbered to kill them cause one on one they can’t.

So tired of these cat lovers feeling sorry for the leopard and praising him for being a warrior just coz he fought back but when lions attack and kill hyenas, it’s “good riddance”even though the hyena fought back just as good. That was brutal! But it’s the way of life in the wild. Besides, had that same leopard came across some baby lions while their mom was off hunting, it woulda took those cubs out without twice thinking about it. Which is the main reason why the lion has to eliminate all leopards they come across.
Besides, some of them are lionesses. Leopards eat their cubs so this one had to go. They all took their pound of flesh.

Yeah I watched a video of a leopard eating a tiny lion cub in the trees just a couple of days ago and it ate at the head first.
The cub was alive and was carried by it's neck just like it's momma would.

Wow, that was harder to watch than expected. Have to admire his strength, went out an absolute fighter despite his size. Big cat society and its dynamics are so vastly complex. You know in the back of your mind that things like this do happen or are possible, but seeing it unfold for yourself really humbles the mind as to how genuinely and viciously hostile life can be for not just leopards, but the Panthera genus in general. I see no villains in this situation, just big cats doing what they’ve been instinctually ingrained to do millions of years ago, long before we walked the earth. Incredible capture team, I can imagine it wouldn’t have been easy to remain steady and focused.

Leopards are pretty clever predators so it's surprising to see it wasn't able to escape or came across a dozen lions. They're usually aware of dangers around and run fast when see other predators superior to them, such as lions or Tigers. This leopard must have been sick or old

I think you have to review your knowledge of African predators especially leopards.
Leopards are strong even though they're are not stronger than lions. They can kill impalas, warthogs, wild dogs, cheetahs and sometimes hyenas. More than strength, they have many skills: Tree climbing (like monkeys) for instance: the African one is able to raise its prey on a tree. And they are very agile. That gives them the ability of being autonomous and living solitary without running out of food.

The competition between Lions and Leopards is so fierce and endless. A leopard is a small version of a tiger, a tough and solitary fighter. If they were just a little bit bigger and social like lions, lions would have found it hard to rule. But kings are kings! You can clearly see that they are young lions sweeping off competition and establishing territory. Most of those 12 didn't even kno what to do until One went fr a death blow., One big male lion can finish off a leopard.

It was obvious to the lions that they weren't hungry, they looked very well, they weren't hungry, it was about territories, they just killed him but didn't eat him, they didn't tear him apart, they bit his places but didn't tear them and left him in place and left, interesting behavior. The lions were not of blood, as is the case with hungry lions.

Leopard 🐆 is the toughest fighter and the best defender. Incredible level of agility, reflexes and quick thinking. It can inflict serious injuries .! Highly adaptable to any situation. ! It's so sad to watch this beautiful cat mauled by a huge gang. RIP .. This is just too many for it to handle . Even 5-6 lions it can defend and escape .! . No other animal can fight the way a leopard can , that's sure. Truly remarkable and beautiful animal. 🐆👍

You should see a jaguar. Much more powerful than a leopard. Jaguars even have a stronger bite than lions or tigers.
This is why intelligence matters also. Wrong choices could lead to death in nature. This Leopard seem to have found himself too close to the center of lion pride without paying attention where the center of lion pride is and thats why he got surrounded and killed then. He should have stayed in the tree where is safe or not walk too close to the center of lion pride.

There was a video also of a leopard holding on vs half a dozen lions.. the lions were not able succeed ..instead they got tired and injured and the leopard was able to escape

This leopard was actually lucky that the majority of the lions were all adolescents had it been a coalition of big male lions he would be torn apart, and it seems the big female was the only adult there she was fearless and clearly wanted to finish off the leopard when others lost interest.

You can tell even the lions respected it. If it was in their territory, I’m guessing the lions had cubs somewhere and are trying to keep animals like leopards and hyenas out. That was just an attack to kill it. They didn’t eat it and had no intentions of doing so which indicates it was territorial.
