If I am not mistaken, jaguars have the most powerful bite in the cat world, and they are the third largest cat (in weight) to only the tigers and lions. This was an amazing capture. I live in New Mexico where jaguars were once occasionally spotted. There is at least one jaguar recently spotted not far away in SE Arizona.
Their teeth my friend. They are rodents. Those teeth are like pliers - whatever they grab, is gone. Much like a beaver on a tree trunk. Or a jack rabbit - they bite baby trees off I 1 bite & it looks like someone cut them with secateurs.
Quality presentation, no rubbish music or speculation. A great incident to record. Hopefully copyrighted to prevent it's plagiarism by the fake biologists proliferating on YT. Might be able to make a buck from litigating unapproved use.
Poor capy just hangin out with his fam, Nature has made the Jaguar one of the most captivating beautiful animals Jaguar is mesmerizing to me, like a mythical creature
The baby capybaras are thinking “what the fuck, who dreamed up this life”? Sunday, chillin with the fam, next thing you know dad’s getting his heart ripped out for someone’s dinner.
Nature is ruthless. Gives the Capy absolutely zero defence against this kind of hunter, it’s basically a massive chicken nugget just waiting to be taken out 😮
People overestimate how big jaguars are. Look at it compared to the capybara- that's a small cat. Just a testament to how complete the devastation of American megafauna was by the "Native" Americans
and there I was minding my own business. Just enjoying some relaxation with the family at the beach, and then out of nowhere a jaguar had to ruin our plans. Rule number 1 is NEVER drop your guard. Eat but dont get eaten
Extremely rare to catch a jaguar on film.
I thought it rarer that Cabybara are predated upon, or have few if any natural predators. Incredible footage.
On the wild perhaps, but they're a surprisingly common sight if you live in a city close to a reserve
Seriously I never see them in town
