Aww. Absolutely heartbreaking.. that dog was probably older! Reminds me of my German shepherd before he died of old age.. when he was younger he was active and alert. But when turned 14, you could sneeze and that wouldn’t wake him up.
Anyone with a house cat has seen them silently stalk exactly like this but since they're smaller than us it's cute and funny. To see it done on a MUCH larger scale is absolutely terrifying though! Creeped right up to the dog and it still wasn't aware that the leopard was there until it actually attacked.
There have been rare cases of individual leopards specializing in hunting human beings (mostly in India at around the start of the 20th century). In many cases they did so by entering human housing to pick off sleeping people, then getting away unnoticed. The male known as the Leopard of Rudraprayag (which killed and ate over 200 people over the course of several years, before being shot) even specialized in killing sleeping people in their own houses. He was good enough at it that he once killed a smoking man sitting in a darkened room, without alerting another man was awake and sitting two feet away. THAT is some serious stealth.
@kecola Exactly! I was saying the same thing. If you have a cat you can see they are exactly the same, but like you sayd much bigger! Thats why i pay respect to the small cat as if it was a big one, because imagine if the tables turn and suddenly you had a big cat at home, you would also pay respect ;) It was a game to the leopard, he was playing a game, he could have attacked much earlier but he waited until the dog waked up. Maybe he even touched the dog first to wake him up. Thats the comment i left before i seen your comment, almost the same! They are very sneaky, just like a ghost if they really want to. I had a cat and normally you could hear her walking, but if she wanted to, all of a sudden she stood next to me looking at me just like the big cat in the video. Big cats and small cats are actually the same, they are just a lot bigger and stronger but they act the same!

How is a leopard's ambush abilities apart from tigers and jaguars? The dog is domesticated and doesn't give a damn about smell. You can clearly see shoes at the door, meaning that's an apartment and stairs to go to other floors. If it were one house, slippers and shoes wouldn't be left in the second floor or higher. That was so creepy. Having a leopard sneak up that close and not be heard or smelled.
I demand an ESA leopard to keep me safe from service pitbulls

I will never understand why people leave their dogs outside at night.
Because most Asian families if not all use dogs as Guard dogs, that's why they are kept outside. Here in Philippines Majority of dogs are kept outside as Guard dogs. The only ones who kept their dogs inside are rich people with high class dogs. After all, dogs are bred for utility such as Guard dogs. It was only later that Dogs became more of pets. the dog could not even notice , smell and hear that a Leopard was getting ready to pounce on him at the close range. Leopards really have good ambush capabilities apart from the tigers and jaguars
Naa man, It's bc it's cement floor
@@l... I think the dog just wasn't experienced enough to sleep lightly. If it was accustomed to live in the wild he wouldn't be deep sleeping carelessly. As much as I know some animals in wildlife, including leopards, need some time to get used to sleep lightly after they are left alone by their mother
@@JoBro842 it’s also just what happens when leopards start becoming bolder and looking for prey in urban areas and starts coming into contact with domesticated animals that just wouldn’t ever expect a leopard to choke them infront of their owners door.
They'd be left outside at the front door. And because it's an apartment, the dog that sleeps at the door smells all different scents from many people.
Cats are the stealthiest animals on the planet.
The fact the leopard stood there for 4 minutes
If you slow it down you actually see that the cat went in for the bite because the dog woke up. It's insane how quick their reactions are.
