    I bought my 2019 Scat from Chris Nikel Dodge in Oklahoma 4 years ago brand new, out the door for $44k. Look at their site right now, 2023 Scats going for $85k plus. Talk about scamming the consumers. That is total BS!!

    I took my car for service that i paid sticker for 1 yr ago and can say the dealership I went to which was my dealership because they had no markups got bought out and now markups all last call by 20 grand and even 5 grand markup on the hornet that we all know don't sell. They have lost my future business. This is absolute insanity.

    One problem with all this, the manufacturer is deliberately making fewer C8 Corvettes, Hellcats and any other nice sports cars than they are surely capable of making. If the dealers had a lot full of C8's or Hellcats, there's no way they could mark these vehicles up. Why isn't the manufacturer being blamed for any of these planned shortages?

    Remember a fews years ago when car salesmen and dealers had to be competitive? That time is coming again. Covid, we understand. It was a blip. I hope dealers enjoyed it. That time is gone. Customers are pushing back. Sales people and dealers are going to have to get competitive again.

    There’s a dealership in Tampa that says if you back out on your order they keep your 5 k deposit that’s terrible and illegal because they can sell it and selling it over sticker

    This conversation transcends Dodge…..inventory is building across the board. Virtually no customers on the lots. Deals are coming…..the only possible curveball that will delay this reckoning is the UAW strike that looks very likely. Time will tell…..stay strong Peeps, deals are coming.

    Like a house in an HOA, if I hear the word markup for a car, I'll walk away. Like I won't deal with a little lady Hitler, I won't agree to a markup that makes no sense. If there is a list of buyers, show me the list (like you said with house buying). If he can't I'll walk away

    Nah OC your doing a great job. I feel the same way and have a video on my channel explaining the same things. I just don't have the time to upload as much as you and I enjoy your videos. Education could have saved this whole car price inflation if ppl would listen. If no one ever paid a markup. It would not be a thing.

Now as for the slimy disgusting greedy lying idiots aka “the modern car salesman” (for the most part) they’re angry because not only are they NOT making any money, they’re probably losing money! Their tactics aren’t working at all and I’m betting you look like the perfect guy to blame right now. Your content CLEARLY advocates for the consumer therefore anyone unhappy MUST be a dealer lol.     That’s exactly what we’re doing with our 2021 Challenger, RT, scat pack, widebody shaker, we custom order the Challenger and paid MSRP. We added a 80,000 mile or eight year factory extender warranty. We already have 28,000 miles on the odometer and having a blast. We don’t plan to leave this challenger as a collector for someone else we plan to just simply enjoy our Challenger.

    It's funny, I happen to watch your lawyer video the other day and this one today. As you were talking about these slimy salesman trying to justify them taking advantage of customers got me thinking about how much it would take to get one of these guys on the hook with your lawyer friend...probably not much.
    All I could picture in my mind as you were talking about how they prey on senior citizens and young people is how just after they made a big score on some unknowing person they go out back to high five their buddies in the break room as they compare who hosed their customer more.
    These guys get me so fired up and it makes me glad to see you and others on RUclips trying to educate people so they don't get taken advantage of. I really appreciate you and am glad to see you as passionate, if not even more, about your real-estate career.
    PS I'm not even in the market for a car, I just like your videos to watch you rail on these scumbags 😂

    I share your passion. I started watching the homework guy channel for this same reason. I was trading my Charger GT last year for the Scat Pack I always wanted and couldn’t believe the dirty shady ass tactics used by my local Dodge dealer. I even had a friend who was fishing buddies with the dealership owner and he asked the owner if his sales staff would take good care of me. To my dismay it only pissed the sales manager off and made them more entrenched. I can’t understand how these people can live with themselves.

    Also, when financing a home an appraisal is generally required to prove the value. Also the buyer will generally know what the payment will be because the lender has to be upfront with their fees and rates. What a terrible comparison.

    OCM, one of your best videos yet. The car salesmen’s analogy of a car to a home just doesn’t make any sense. Owning homes are most people’s greatest asset that they will ever own in their lifetimes. Paying off a mortgage and maintaining or upgrading their homes is guaranteed equity. What is pouring money into a car going to get you? Cars are useful during the times that you own them, but they come and go. These cars are fun, and they bring us fun and excitement, but except for a very select few, they are not investments. These guys have to realize, especially in this economic climate, that asking for those markups makes no sense, and if people are smart, will actually make these dealers pay when they have to hold these cars on their lots for months and months. Who is going to pay 20-30k markups for a car that has not sold because of those ridiculous markups. No one is going to bid against themselves and hand these guys a pile of cash that they’ll never recover. I’m waiting for your next video. I can’t wait to see how attorneys deal with car dealers and these issues. BTW, the massive bird poop from the car wash roof is hilarious. I love those inclusions to your videos. Keep them coming.

    I am trying to buy another car and the crazy stuff that's said is crazy. I don't even want to buy anything. Even if it's a great deal. They mark up their cars and but low ball me on a trade.

    Sorry, but I agree with the commenter... manufacturer says what they want for a vehicle, the stealership still needs to make a profit along with every person who contacts it along the way... and if a person is willing to pay the price, no matter how many markups and no matter how many market adjustments, then THAT is what the car is worth. these insane prices for BOTH homes and vehicles is driven by supply and demand. If people want lower prices they ALL NEED TO STOP BUYING PRODUCTS, whether it is a vehicle or a home! I've been a Realtor and I've seen MANY sales in real estate that are just as bad if not worse than the auto industry! There are no guarantees! Just because you paid cash for a home even, is NOT a guarantee of investment. Here in Texas many people are losing their "owned" homes as taxes go up 10% EVERY YEAR! then you have imminent domain situations that FORCE people OUT of their "OWNED" homes. I've seen overpriced homes "sit" on the market for multiple of years because the prices are TOO DAMN HIGH and the greedy owners WILL NOT drop their prices. It's all the same, open markets based on supply and demand.

    Looking at making my dream of having a brand new Challenger w/ a V8 before its too late. I don't need a scat or cat, a R/T is perfect for me. My question is $46,789 a decent price for a new 23 last call Challenger R/T, plus, blacktop with 6speed manual? It has all the bells and whistles except the cruise control sensor in the front and power folding mirrors.

      Ya. Not cool. I haven’t heard about mine yet. I checked my order and it looked like it went up $2k which wouldn’t be the end of the world. So we will see what happens.

    These dealers on getting high in the green environment...(Electrification) they think consumers are stupid. 😅 I guess the ones on a floorplan are really gonna screw themselves if they bought to many Kitties.
    Thanks for putting that out. Maybe the Dealers should take your advice and start selling ar MSRP and not screw people. That will generate real business not inflated ones.

    I was in the market for thec23 modle TRX . Their markup was 128 thousand. I decided. Its msrp is 108 though. Thanks for the advice. I did get my superstock at msrp 103 though

    actually, I had very good luck at a used car dealership. last car I bought went and looked at it. test drove it and made a deal in less than an hour. been driving that car for 6 years now, super reliable and has been a great car.

    Yeah. You cant compare a house to a car. Identical cars are sold all of the time, so you know exactly what price is being dictated by the market for that specific car. No houses are going identical.

    you were late to Racer X, talked about parking lot ROT from all the cars sitting so long, I watched motor oil geek, the tests oil does go bad from sitting, the additives fall out of suspension even oils on shelves , and the oils that drip off the roller lifters , watch oil geek

    I tried for the past couple of weeks to trade in my 2022 cayman for a challenger RT and dodge dealers think their challenger is worth more than my 2022 cayman S 😂. They are so dumb... My cayman is paid off, they just have to make me a decent offer on the trade in and they can't. But they expect me to pay sticker. Keep your dodge 😂

    I'm not a salesman or anyting I got a kind of imagined in this market that they're probably more the victim I know some of them are crappy but it's not their choice to put Mark ups on cars it's not their choice to raise the price of they're just trying to make a living to support their just like anyone else

      If you have to lie to your customers, place fake orders to hose people out of cars at msrp, charge $5000 for window tint, and $25,000-$50,000 mark up which financially buries people in their cars, and then offer them 10% less than msrp when they come back to trade it in 6 months later after telling them that the car would go up in value, then maybe they should choose another career or business. They make plenty of money at msrp and even below. There’s plenty of cars on the lots now. This is simply about greed and nothing else. They aren’t hurting. Look them up. They’ve had their highest record breaking profit years ever this last 3 years. There’s zero defense of this behavior that makes any logical sense other than simple greed.

    home 's we can find the sold price,cars only way is ebay motors ,auction sold price is the real price of the HC/WB/RE , SCATS.,2018 demons,LOT OF DEMON 170S .super stocks . blk ghost come up and never sell relist over and over ,same with king Daytona allso add the resale dealers who are trying to flip last calls , do I go shop around for a shaker and get msrp or $,$$$ off sticker or pay a resale dealer $20k over sticker lol
