    Good morning Kathy! MUCH APPRECIATED and have ordered the R6ii with an adapter, meantime, to use with my newer 100-400 ... as well, thanks for the reminder-support to strive for new on new... I, too, ordered a new R super telephoto Canon lens... can't wait to get out there! 🎉thank you, again!

    I got the R6 II a few weeks ago and it's just phenomenal to say the least (I bought Sigma Art lenses and they are just so incredible) . I shoot routinely at ISO 12800 and the images are soooooo clean. In fact, I showed my buddy who also has been a pro photog for the past 15 years and he thought they were ISO 400. It's just that clean (with no noise reduction ever).
    I found the R6 II to have a better sensor for noise and dynamic range than its only competitor, the A7IV.
    I've shot for 15 years and the R6 II has the best dynamic range, ISO noise and AF of any camera I've used, not even close.

    I put a video together recently, mainly because I was so surprised with the low light result of a picture I took in a dark closet. I mean, yeah, the image was noisy...but the closet was nearly pitch black. The resulting image was just phenomenal. I also have to add, Canon's color science is great. Their images just look great even with the noise being present.

    Thanks Kathy. I enjoyed your B&H presentation also. I'm looking forward to your BIF review. I'm on the fence between the Sony A7IV and the R6 Mkll. There are pros and cons to both.

      One choice would involve a system change. That could get expensive. I'll get the BIF video posted soon. Thanks for commenting.

    The refinement of AI denoise and AI resize are combining to make noise and pixel count less of a buying decision. These are pretty new technologies but they are maturing quickly. I'm a happy owner of a 5D3 that was pre-ordered before the day of shipping release. I know it won't last forever and I keep my eye on newer cameras for that reason. Normally I would look at the R5 / R5II, but thanks to reviews like yours I'm leaning toward the R6II. I liked the information that you presented and appreciate the time it took for you to provide examples. Great video! Subscribed.

      Thanks for your note @RickLincoln. I was a 5D owner, too, so thought I really needed the R5. Once I got the R6 Mark II, though, I didn't miss the R5. what knows what the R5ii will bring but there's no announcement date. I think you'll be very happy with the R6ii. Get the RF lenses so you have the entire package.

    Hi, Ms. Clark! I just discovered and subscribed to your channel; lovely info. - - thank you! 2 Questions as to the R6M2... I prefer to shoot primarily birds, some other wildlife... have a Canon 7DM2, and more recently shoot with Canon's 90D... most frequently with Canon's 100-400mm IS ultrasonic lens along with the extender 1.4 III - - great images, and if cropping is required, still gr8 - - However, the R6M2 is quite appealing for wildlife. Would you recommend the R6M2 using Canon's adapter (for use with my EF lenses? ... already in-hand, quite a few, like the 100-400mm 4.5-5.6 L IS II, and the similar 70-200mm L lens, and others ) If to spend more $$ - - ?much better may be the R6M2 with the RF 100-500mm 4.5-7.1 L IS for most "go to" bird uses?? (and having the adapter on hand for use with EF lenses, worthwhile?) Much appreciated! Be well, be happy!!

      Thanks for the kind comments @BanyanRanchStudios. Appreciate it! A friend recently switched to the R6ii and he said the auto focus "is like a heat seeking missile." I have to agree. I'm always going to recommend that you put the new RF lenses on the R cameras. That's new technology on new technology. The combination of new technology is always going to work better. So, yes, if you can afford it, put the RF 100-500mm, RF 1.4x, and R6ii together. That combination is amazing for bird and wildlife photography. An adapter will work. It does pretty well. Go with that if that is your option based on finances. My recommendation is to sell the old equipment to finance the new. Photographers will gladly buy your older equipment. It's good! I hope that helps!

    Kathy, Thank you for showing the high ISO performance. It is good! Did you do any processing on the images or are they straight out of the camera?

    • @KathyAdamsClark
      @KathyAdamsClark  Год назад

      There is only one image that has noise reduction added. All the other images are out of the camera with basic processing. By basic processing, I mean Texture, Vibrance, Saturation, then Exposure and/or shadows if needed. The images didn't need too much processing. Thanks for the comment and for viewing!

    I see al lot of noise with your high iso shots.. why you want to pump up your iso to 12800? In normal daylight an iso of 800 should be the max? Thx for your information:)

    • @KathyAdamsClark
      @KathyAdamsClark  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the question, @Caspervanamsterdam7499. I shoot with auto ISO a lot. If I dial in a faster shutter speed then I get a higher ISO. I don't limit the ISO because if I want the shot, I want the shot. The ISO in the video were high to prove a point. I was also photographing in a shady environment so the ISO needed to be higher. Good question and thanks for watching.

    hi Kathy....thank you for sharing your experience with the r6 mkii....You mentioned you have the r3...how does the AF of the r6 mkii compare with the r3...From what I'm reading, they are call the r6 mkii a mini r3. Do you share the same?

    • @KathyAdamsClark

      So far, I find the autofocus on the R6 II similar to what I get with the R3. I worked a bit on flying and moving birds today and it didn't miss when I did my job and kept the camera on the bird. The sharp auto focus is a selling point on this camera. Thanks for the question and post!

    Would it be possible for you to do an in the field comparison between the R6 II and the R7. There have to be pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages with each. How high can you go with the R7 ISO and how does it lock on the eyes compared to the R6II. Do either of them perform better than the other using third party lenses like the 100-600 ones used by so many birders? I'm being a bit of a devils advocate, but these are the types of questions I'm receiving from former students and friends.

    • @KathyAdamsClark
      @KathyAdamsClark  Год назад

      I got to test the R7 for about a month but don't have it in my hands anymore. I can post a comparison, though, between these two cameras. The R7 was very good at focus tracking. Same as I've found on the R6 II. I don't use third party lenses so not much help on that end. Yes, we're going to get people who want to know if they should buy one over the other. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll work on a comparison of the R7 and R6 II.

      Thanks for asking @KabirSaeed-dj4tk I'm a bird photographer and don't do people professionally. So I'm not the best person to ask. Sounds like you have a problem with skintones with the A7 r4? It's got to be tricky.

      Canon uses the term High-speed continuous or Low-speed continuous. My students and workshop participants use all different brands of cameras. Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Sony, Pentax and Fuji. My terms slip here and there.
