Agreed guys! I have 3 bottles of this right now all open. One regular and two store picks. I find myself going to wheaters often including Makers Mark and Larceny.
MY STORE HAD WELLER!!! Right next to the Buffalo Trace (limit one per customer) was a single bottle of Weller Special Reserve, for $30. My eyes bugged out like Wile E. Coyote seeing Sara in a hot dress. Of course I grabbed it, and it’ll take a few pours to properly evaluate it 😀😋, but I can now say I’ve seen and tasted Weller Special Reserve!!
the one bourbon here in Canada I can get every day...i have one o the shelf yet to crack..i better get at it..lol. Maybe i better grab another. cheers Chad and Sara !
You're right that the Weller has become a hot find if you chance across it. I bought a bottle of Special Reserve and Antique 107 purely by accident. I was checking out at a Giant Eagle and the cashier asked me if I was into bourbon and I replied, "Yes, ma'am." She said, "Would you like to buy some Weller's?" My eyebrow arched like Mr. Spock's and I replied, "Sure!" She had one case and I bought the two Weller's. I found the Special Reserve good, but it didn't blow me away. I haven't cracked the 107 yet, but I'm putting it next to my suddenly impossible-to-find Henry McKenna and Buffalo Trace. Good review.
I still have a handle of both the old and new bottle of WSR. Sad to say but due to its limited availability I can't get myself to open them. I used to bring these to parties and it didnt bother me if someone decided to mix this one. Now it is neat, rocks, or nada, go and mix the BT. Cheers Chad and Sarah!

Just picked up two bottles at the Buffalo Trace gift shop for $30. I live in Knoxville, TN and I can never find any Weller at the many liquor stores I frequent. I agree, start out with this. I had a WTRB before the Weller and I thought is was very thin. The next day I had the Weller first and I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it, an excellent value at MSRP I would really like to get a bottle of Antique 107, but alas, it is impossible to find here.
I just picked up a bottle at my local Binny’s. There were 5 on the shelf. I picked up one. After 10 minutes of walking around the store, I made a final pass through the bourbon section. Only 1 bottle remained. $25 with 15% off coupon. Also picked up a Bookers 2018-04 Kitchen Table with the coupon.
I used to be able to get antique 107 in Ohio pretty much every week. Lately, there are too many flippers going store to store and buying them all. They were literally gone within 30 seconds of the door opening this week. Stinks for those who want to buy to enjoy it. Special reserve is a good bourbon for the price 👍🏽
I asked the nice people at my local store who told me the day they get it in and when to show up to try to get one. You just have to know when and hopefully be able to get there. I get a bottle about every other week, and like Chad said, I'll share it with my bourbon loving friends when I have excess.
This past Friday I got lucky at my local ABC liquor I walked in looking for Buffalo Trace which they didn't have any the guy told me from time to time that they get weller special reserve said they had two bottles left and believe it or not I got a bottle for 22 bucks haven't opened it yet but I'm looking forward to when I do.
I used to buy this for $18. At that price it was a great buy. Now I can find it for around $26 and it is still a good buy. If it is priced more than that then there are better choices out there.
i had WSR for the first time the other day, buddy brought it to golf course, i was prepared to bash it but was humbled by how good it was-apply, honey, oak and spice, i was licking my lips! luckily i can get this all-day and cheap in Houston!
Makers Mark is another option for a wheater. Since this (Weller) has become harder to find, I hate to say that even Larceny has taken a back seat to Makers.
Weller SR was gone from my area for years until the new bottle/label was released, now I don't have to look too hard for it and glad it's still reasonably priced($19.99). I've got enough Glencairn glasses, how about an IBN Tribeca?
I had the old style bottle a few years ago and I liked it more than Makers. Now I have this new designed bottle and it seems to be terrible. I´ve finally got the Antique 107 in the old bottle and I´m gonna open it on Christmas Day so I´m really curious what´s that one like.
SR is a great beginner bourbon and was one of the bottles that got me into bourbon in the first place but there's no way I'd bunker or hunt this down anymore.
I just bought a 750mL for $22 in Dayton Ohio. Still a pretty good price for the quality. Interestingly I can't really find buffalo trace easily but there were 4 cases of Weller special reserve in the store I was in today.
This stuff is 88$ around my parts (granted not in the US), but it's darned good. My selection of bourbon is not fantastic, mostly "big name" stuff, so all the special small stuff usually doesn't make it. Grabbed a bottle of Blanton's just for shits and giggles at 149 (cheapest it will ever be around my parts). We'll see how that holds up, especially seeing how I'm normally more of a scotch person who got tunred onto bourbon by a friend and my obsession with old fashioneds.
Dammit, kids! I just picked this up at my local for a cool $23.99 + tax (two bottles on the shelf, I think they got there yesterday since Thursday's delivery day)....made the mistake of looking up secondary prices: around 3x retail on average. Not a lot of overage, but still, crack it open or save? The store got another couple of bottles a month or two ago and they were gone pretty quickly (I hope they weren't the 107!). People don't pay as much attention to the allocated stuff where I live but how long or if it will reappear? :-O
Can’t believe this stuff is hard to find or marked up. I have literally seen this on the shelf for $80 for a 750. In my opinion this bourbon is sub par out of the whole weller line 107 is the superior bottle over the 12 and SR. j
For sure sub par for $80! We think the $19 mark is great for this one, just wish everyone would sell it for that. Weller Antique 107 is our favorite out of the 3 as well.
Just found about 20 bottles of Weller SR @ $25 w/ no limit of bottles on the bottom shelf between Kentucky Gentleman and a super cheap bourbon I have never heard of. Really want to get either the 12 or Antique but those are still missing here.
Just picked up my first SR and Blantons last night. I love both of them. I got both for 115 in TN. Blantons should be priced at or below 65. Weller SR should be below 35. Both are really good tho.
Congrats on the Blantons! I got this SR today for 29.99 alongside a Stagg Jr. Batch 13 for $90. I really like this SR though, even if it is one dimensional in taste it's a good flavor to be grounded in. I'm not super familiar with how dumps and distribution work but it seems like BT products hit a lot of shelves this past weekend. I've been hearing lots of accounts of Wellers (OWA and SR), basic BT, a few Blanton's locally.
Just turned up in the U.K at £55 a bottle. I found a shop with some Weller 12 also - £125. I still have a Weller 12 which I paid £35 for a couple of years ago. That's exactly what I think it's worth. This should obviously be cheaper.
In 2014 I was working at a local big liquor store and the Special Reserve and Antique 107 wasn’t allocated but the 12 just started to be. In 2019 everyone is lucky to get any of it. The 12 is considered almost a unicorn at this point.
Grabbed a 12yr about a week ago and a special reserve just because. The special reserve isn’t hard to find but the rest of the family is getting more difficult
It's a little "smoother" than B Trace because it doesn't have rye in its mash bill. It's a real easy drinker, but I probably couldn't drink it all night because I would miss the little rye kick from other bourbons.

They have Larceny on sale for $19.99, but doesn’t get me excited. Thoughts?
Got this today at Spec's in El Paso TX along with Four Roses Single Barrel. This is a much better bourbon than the $22.00 price. EDIT. There was an open case of the Weller sitting on top of 8 cases yet to be opened, NEXT to two cases of 1.75 l bottles.
She is, Jose, thanks for the well wishes! I've been sick for the past week with the flu, though. Uggg. When will it end?! No worries, we'll be there for LIVE on Sunday!

Its not rare. Its just rare in mostly kentucky because they are mostly drunks and pappy van winkle ball suckers. It is a cery nice bourbon though. Grab a bottle and try it
It took me 26 phone calls and two extra hours of driving to find this today. If you can find a bottle as easy as they make it sound, then I feel dumb. If you see it at MSRP, buy it!
This was my guzzling bourbon back in the '90s, when it was produced by Old Fitz at the Stitzell-Weller Distillery in Shivley. Delicious and cheap. I have to agree with Chad; there was not much complexity to it. That's the first thing that stood out. But as Paul Simon wrote, "He's a one-trick pony, but he turns that trick with pride."
i have them all, blanton is over hyped and priced, seller is best , willet doesn’t go down as smoothly, bottle just looks nice, sweet and well rounded goes to weller, enjoy
I agree is a simple pour with a famous name but I switch brands twice a week Dickle 12 my favorite $27 was better than four roses single barrel 100 proof but I sip shot glasses
I'm the odd duck here. I find the 107 just hot and... not much else. And it's not that I'm not used to high proofers, as I'll drink ol'Hank McKenna and Baker's neat all day. My palate is just weird, I guess.
I'm with you Bun Bear. I would like to know if the only difference is the proof. The Antique is so much smoother and reminds me of the Old Ezra 7 Barrel Strength. Brown sugar, caramel, oak soo yummy!
I seriously paid $49 for this in the Fall. A month or so later discovered if you pay more than $25 you're overpaying. Decided at that point not again. I know another store nearby that it runs about $60 and the Antique 107 was $70. Special Reserve is good, but it's no better than Buffalo Trace. I won't be paying those prices anymore for it.
Yeah, the store I found it at has a great selection, but they mark up everything rare. You can find all the hard to get bottles there, but expect to pay double the msrp.
Agreed guys! I have 3 bottles of this right now all open. One regular and two store picks. I find myself going to wheaters often including Makers Mark and Larceny.

This is widely available in the Dallas area on the bottom shelf for $19.99. It does sell very well.
Same story here in NE Kansas... I just bought 1L for $21. But the 107 is maybe a twice-yearly thing and the 12 is a lottery bottle.
Being from Kentucky the only place I can get this is the Buffalo trace distillery. It’s pretty sought after in our area
Just picked this up today! It's hard to find in my area. Easy sipper with tastes of honey and vanilla!
Weller Special Reserve is great! Pretty cheap in my state and easy to get. Love this one!

Strange, in SW Oklahoma we can get this everywhere for $22-$23. We are just now seeing Larceny for around $28.

How does this one compare to Maker's Mark or other readily available wheated bourbons?

I'm the odd duck here. I find the 107 just hot and... not much else. And it's not that I'm not used to high proofers, as I'll drink ol'Hank McKenna and Baker's neat all day. My palate is just weird, I guess.
@@jdkimple I'm assuming u like weller 12
I'm with you Bun Bear. I would like to know if the only difference is the proof. The Antique is so much smoother and reminds me of the Old Ezra 7 Barrel Strength. Brown sugar, caramel, oak soo yummy!
I seriously paid $49 for this in the Fall. A month or so later discovered if you pay more than $25 you're overpaying. Decided at that point not again. I know another store nearby that it runs about $60 and the Antique 107 was $70. Special Reserve is good, but it's no better than Buffalo Trace. I won't be paying those prices anymore for it.
1 liter is $23. It's good stuff.
Ok bourbon for $26, wouldn't pay more than that. Good luck finding it up in the north east.
One day we will get Weller again
fast forward 2021 price: no less than $65.00
Right. It’s insane
$70 in NY and it is not special. $46 Knob Creek Twice Barreled Rye is much better.
But but, it’s pappy….just ask the hipsters
25? holy hell it's 40 here in new york
$60 at the last store I found, upstate NY.
@@speedogomer that's insane, i found mine in WNY
Yeah, the store I found it at has a great selection, but they mark up everything rare. You can find all the hard to get bottles there, but expect to pay double the msrp.
Dude 200AUD here , Australia
Speedogomer 44$ Central NY I found so many gems at this one spot and nobody buys
Hi , I found it in Jersey , paid 79.00 dollars
