Total Wine in Austin Texas just got Weller 12, 107, Full Proof, and CYPB. I got to the place late and snagged the last bottle of 12 for 36 bucks. Today was a great day.
I was at the liquor store on my birthday trying to find something to drink for the night, and I just so happened to find a lone bottle of Weller 107 WITH the cork for $50. Needless to say it was a good birthday. Thanks for the video guys.
I was just in Columbus OH for work and picked up the SR for $22 and 107 for $50 at the local Kroger. Haven't opened the 107 yet. The SR is tasty, great cheap daily. I also got extremely lucky and walked in the day they opened a special crate of Old Overholt 114 and 11 year.
What blows my mind, is that I am in KY where they make this stuff; and yet, they are exceedingly rare. Also, 2 years out from when this video was made, secondary market values are significantly higher now. $220+ for Weller-12 and $1,750+ for WLW.
I saw a bottle of the Weller Special Reserve for the first time (Washington state). I snatched it up for $27. It was good, but wasn't as magical as I hoped.
I didnt think I would ever find Weller where I live and I happened to stumble into a store with a fresh case on the shelf I spent 60 with taxes and I dont regret it with all things considered
Went into a VERY small liquor store built onto the side of a rural gas station and they had about a dozen bottles of Special Reserve covered in dust for $22.50 +tax. I picked one up and I'm not even a big fan. Too bad there's no real secondary market in Texas, I'd have bought them all.
@@rogerhagariii I saw one 350ml in Houston about 3 years ago then never saw it again until last April. I've only seen the giant 1.75ltr bottles since and I just don't want that much, lol. I've never seen a 107 in person, before.
Just scored a couple weller 12s here in Southern Oregon… love finding bottles for retail. Sadly I’m from Cali and Weller SR is going for 100+ 107 is 150+ and Weller 12 is 300+…. Insane!!!!!
This is a great series you guys are doing. Thanks for putting the info out there. I am now overwhelmed with sadness and will have to crack open the Special Reserve that I overpaid for and drink the sorrows away, hopefully my tears falling into my glass won’t take away too much of the sweetness. Just so you all can see how ridiculous that market is in SOCal. WSR-$40/W107-$90-100+/W12- $150+/ WCYPB $900+/WFP-$600+/WLW-$900+/dreaming that you can get one at a decent price well that still free
Saw the Weller special reserve in a store in DE today $99!!! Outrageous! Also we have no sales tax that's just the price! I think most of the stores around me sell way to high on a lot of brands
Sitting here at home fresh off the plane and I have to say these all pretty spot on for me with what I have (1-7, FP and WLW)... and since I just got the Woodford Wheat I pourd some and man... I am surprised by it.
I found 1 bottle at Gil Turners liquor store on Sunset for $100. I visited home in Cleveland and found a shelf full at the grocery store for $17.99. FYI, you can get neat pours of Antique 107 for $6 at Cassel’s Burgers in KTown all day.
i can never find SR on the shelf in the Knoxville area, but I agree, no more than MSRP for it. It is tasty but very thin and don't even drink it after having a pour of anything above 105 proof or it tastes like water.
Super easy to throw out those low prices when you have access to everything. For the rest of us, it's either you pay the true secondary or you don't get it at all.
Chicago Burbs - SR is tough to find, comes in and goes out quick. Binny's sometimes has it for decent price I'm told but most liquor stores, you'll be in the $40 range. Very tough to find 107 or Full Proof. Ohio people send some love this way, we'll send you Portillo's.
Love the videos you guys put out both for the information and the sheer entertainment. I’m done searching for anything from Buffalo Trace. If I see something I haven’t tried I’ll buy it at retail price and that it.
I've accepted the fact that I can only buy Weller Antique 107, 12-Year and Full Proof only online (and I gladly overpay for them). What I can't accept is the fact that the 12-Year is by far the most expensive of those three. I'll pay $200 for Antique 107 all day long. It's better than the 12-Year and nearly as good as the Full-Proof.
Just had a friend drive to KY and brought me back a bottle of reserve and antique. He paid $43 for the reserve and $112 for the antique. They wanted $230 for the 12. I passed on that. Even though I overpaid, at least I now have a bottle of them. And,..... here in VA, can’t find them anywhere, so that was okay with me.
about 7 years ago i use to sell 2 cases of the special reserve to a guy every couple of weeks. I once had a pappy 20 in my hands at a store for $75 and decided not to buy it there was a whole shelf full. these bourbons are not any better today its all just based on supply and demand. I could go on and on with these should have bought it stories I once passed on a macallen gran reserva 18 for $200 it now trades for over $6000. point is trust your palate the price is only based on demand
One store near me has 3 bottles of 107 for 180 bucks. Almost every other store has Special Reserve for 80-90 bucks, I found a Special Reserve for 40 and bought it just I could finally try one.
Picked up a bottle of the red a couple of years ago in a regular grocery store since it was there, and I never ran across them before and it was like 60 bucks (I'm in the tax haven of Washington state...) Just the other day I saw one in a liquor store here in Tacoma WA and they want 400 bucks for it!!! 😂
I saw a retailer was opening up their vault and it contained Weller FP. I was excited until I saw the price: $580. The place has some good stuff that's hard to find where I am and sells it for regular retail prices so I was hoping for a reasonable price. By comparison, this retailer has Kentucky Owl Confiscated for around $110 and another local store had that same bottle for $299. So I was thinking that if Kentucky Owl was regular price then other bottles in their vault would be reasonably priced.
@@johnlangdonrumph8854 hook a guy up! Litteraly just bought a 1L bottle for $100 and cant find a bottle of Blantons for less than $150😢. I live in bourbon country and can't even buy what i want anymore.

I just don't want that much, lol. I've never seen an Antique 107 here, but my store had Larceny BP for about $43. They were sold out, lol.

I watched someone pay $80 for a Weller Special Reserve (Green Label) at a small liquor store in Yorkville, IL on January 18th 2021. He thought it was the last one, but when he left, the owner pulled one out from under the counter & put it on the shelf in it's place

I wish the prices for Weller were that great in KENTUCKY.... Weller sr - $40-$50 OWA - $90-$100 W12 - $200-$240 WFP - $220-$300 (for a store pick) CYPB - $500-$600 Weller SiB - $900-1k All local secondary prices and YOU WILL NOT find them cheaper anywhere in Ky. IF.... they make it to the shelf they are pulled and flipped immediately. And it’s absurd to say the least. I’ve never seen a bottle of CYPB or SiB with my own eyes. They’re basically impossible to find.
Appreciate the review and totally agree with the MSRP prices. I realize this is also a 2 year old video but I have been buying SR for 5 years and in the wild (IL, KY, OK, MO, IA, WI) I've only found 107 @ $99, Full Proof @ $700 and have never found 12 year, so my question to you is where in Michigan can I regularly find these 3 for MSRP? Special Reserve is everywhere in Texas and Oklahoma. You can even find old label pretty regularly in OK. This has been a banner year for the Weller line in TX. Several big drops of the entire line (except WLW obviously). You didn't even mention Weller Single Barrel. The one I've had was amazing!
Great video. I can't stand the hype and thus scarcity that the Weller line has obtained out here in California, its really hurting the true bourbon drinkers. That being said I'm glad you guys talk up Larceny, I think it's the best bourbon for price, availability and definitely taste out there.
Bourbon Junkies They wanted $200. Zero chance I was going to pay that but I was debating on $100 and a bottle since I’ve never even seen it, even through secondary.
