We go through the winners of the whiskey categorgy's and give some alternatives that may be easier to find or whiskey we just enjoy more! Can't find eagle rare 17 and parker's rye? Was able to get it at Costco on close out for less than $50. Only had 5. Went back a few days later to get another and all were gone. Glad I was able to get one. Cheers.

JDSBBP is an amaaaazing bottle, but I think I'd have to give the slight upper hand to Rebel Yell 10 year single barrel in that category mostly because it's $55 around me and JDSBBP is $70☹️great video though, loved all your picks!
Woodinville is amazing, especially if you can find the Port-Finished. Best bourbon from a craft distillery I've tried (and I've tried probably 25 or 30). If you disagree, feel free to mail me a bottle of your favorite to try lol.
We've heard great things about the port finished, need to try and find some.

Great another Stagg Jr recomendation. When you can find it the cost is way over msrp.
Pipe Dream is the biggest surprise for me this year. It is DELICIOUS any way you want it.... neat, rocks, old fashioned . Thanks for the recommendation a few months back. cant get enough of it. Lost Monarch is also great.

I think for the first category the New Riff products are only 4 years old, some 5 years old, and they have good distribution on all the products. I would personally go with the BiB or the single barrel BP over the Woodenville
Glad I found this channel. You guys rock, keep it up. I subbed and turned on all notifications, I’m new bourbon drinker and this Channel has helped a lot and you guys are a great duo. I’ve tried Buffalo trace and Evan Williams BiB so far, both great! Going to try eagle rare next.

JD SB BP is amazing. Nothing has more flavor for under $70. I’m not saying it’s the best, that’s all subjective. But for sheer explosive, rich flavor, nothing offers more than this bottle. Completely under rated. If this was an allocated Saz product, it would get bought up in seconds and cost thousands on secondary.
Btw. Its Seelbach's for the four gate for anyone looking. It's only $5 to ship too

ECBP is 12 years old, so I’d have used it instead of the 1792 I think. And the finished would have to go to literally ANY High West finished Double Rye or give it to Yippee Ki Yay as its swan song.

Dickel is owned by Diageo. Ralfy pretty much refuses to review Diageo products. IMO, Diageo is better at marketing than distilling.
Hence the while orphan barrel line up. They have amazing marketing
I'm not a big malt fan, so I'm with Brandon on the Chattanooga. I gave mine to a scotch drinking friend.

Luckily found a BB batch 21 at MSRP. Looking forward to trying it. Finding a Stagg Jr is more difficult in my area than getting different BB batches.

I feel like I hear everyone talking about the JDBP and how underrated it is, but mine was so disgusting. Like drinking melted yellow laffy taffy mixed with rubbing alcohol. I was so disappointed, I love cask strength whiskeys and so desperately wanted to love it.

For small batch 11+ yrs i say ECBP. For finished battle, how about including Haystack Port finish. It killed angel envy port cs for me.

Great alternatives and I’ve been holding off on Parker’s rye for 199 but maybe I should consider when I get some extra dough
Honestly one of the best ryes we've ever had. We'd buy again at 200.
Barrell batch 23 is better than 21 in my eyes so look for that one!
Not a fan of the wine barrel- finished bourbons/whisky. I generally find the flavors compete with each other, not compliment.
I can't find a bottle of that Chateau De Laubade for less than $500. Nice obtainable recommendation there....

How did you guys get Four Gate or anything from Seelbach’s? I’ve ordered three bottles from them and only received one. Hopefully I can find Four Gate from another source. Chattanooga too.

Oh man, have I got to disagree with you about the Woodinville. From top to bottom their entire product line is better than 90% of the craft whiskey that is being made out there. If you see it, try their port finished bourbon or their cask strength bourbon as well.
Their 100% rye I would put up against anything out of either Kentucky or Indiana..........
Other then that, good rundown of the whiskey awards. I just can't justify any of the Barrel Bourbons because of the inconsistencies in the batches. Too much money to invest in something that inconsistent.
BTW, loved the GSD at the end. A great whiskey is always second to a man's best friend.
A couple people have said we need to try that port finished one now, night have to try and find it.
@@BourbonJunkies get their cask strength stuff first if you can then the port finished bourbon. They also do Apple stave finished bourbon and rye which is a perfect fall weather sipper. They also just did a limited bottling of a triple barrel, Ardbeg finished American whiskey......it was amazing.

Michigan, they just started hitting our shelves a little bit. We've seen the regular 90 proofer around, not much else.
@@BourbonJunkies I know it is considered slumming going into Illinois but I believe the Chicago metro area is getting some port distribution and I think one of the chain stores also gets Woodinville barrel picks.

Have u guys tried the BCS 15yr batch 1 ($250) or the Clyde Mays Cask Strength 11 yr ($125)? Both are excellent but are a bit expensive!

In reference to the Barrell Bourbon, but general question to other brands, what’s the difference between barrel proof and cask strength in definition? I’d assume they are the same thing, but BB has one label for each. So how are those different based on definition (in other words, I’m not asking which is better or what taste profiles are with BP or CS, I’m just asking about the terminology)?
Cask strength gets proofed at the end to the proof it entered the barrel before aging. Barrell proof means what ever it comes out of the barrel at is what it's bottled at. Hope this helps!

Sorry for my ignorance, but what’s the deal in Pennsylvania?
Pretty sure it's a state regulated state, so rare stuff is pulled and then done in a lottery. A fair amount of states are that way, not sure if that's the way it's ran there.
@@vincec727 That is correct we have State Run liquor stores so not only do we not get rare bottles onto the shelf (they are raffled) but we also rarely get good bottles allocated to our stores. Ive never seen blantons, wellers, E.H. Taylor ect.

It's a very large distillery in Indiana that distillery a lot of things and sells them young to people to age. A lot of things are MGP.
