      As far as my research has taken me, not only are they unrelated, but Quetzalcoatl is very, very old and that sun god was a fairly recent addition to the pantheon when it all collapsed.

    There was an episode of Godzilla the Series called “Bird of Paradise”, which was a complete homage to Q: The Winged Serpent. Godzilla literally fights a giant quetzalcoatl, which the characters often refer to as “Q,” and there's a supporting character named Larry Cohen (the producer/writer/director of Q: The winged Serpent).

    This isn’t a “so bad it’s good” movie it’s genuinely good. Larry Cohen never made a bad movie, he took campy or sleazy concepts and elevated them. Michael Moriarty gives a borderline Oscar-worthy performance too.

      Ahh American movies. All about killing the monster first and pretty much screwing the lore of it much less preserving something of the monster and showing it as a sympathetic creature. Kinda feel jealous of Kong. .
      Likely a cultural thing. The US like many Western Nations are heavily Christians and they have a thing against any and all things related to snakes.

    I own the Blu-Ray of I, The Jury. It's pretty sleazy and violent, but otherwise comes off like a routine TV pilot. It also features a full-frontally nude Barbara Carrera. I think you know by now whether or not you want to see it.

    • @henrykujawa4427
      @henrykujawa4427 2 года назад +1

      Larry Cohen wrote that film and was actually fired about a week INTO production. He complained money wasn't forthcoming, the fly-by-night producers countered by claiming HE was going over-budget. "Q" was finished before "I, THE JURY" was. Those producers were sued by somebody and the film fell into the hands of somebody else before release. Sheesh.
      Cohen said he felt he needed to "update" things, but, despite lots of violence, profanity, nudity, sex AND Barbara Carrera NAKED... it's still not even half as good as the 1953 film with Biff Elliot, Margaret Sheridan, Preston Foster, Alan Reed, and Peggie Castle, which actually followed the novel! That is my FAVORITE Mike Hammer movie ever made, and is finally getting an official release on Blu-Ray, with a bonus version in 3-D, and an audio commentary by Max Allan Collins. People diss Elliot as an actor, but in my eyes, NOBODY captured the real essense and personality of Mike Hammer as perfectly as he did. If the sleazeball producer from England hadn't been such an idiot, the 2 follow-ups would have had the SAME cast & crew involved.

    at 14:21, that miniature of the Statue Of Liberty actually WAS on that building in NYC for over one hundred years. I've seen it several times. It used to be on a building near the Lincoln Center area back in the old days. If you search for a web page called "Forgotten New York Little Liberty" you can read the history of that unique statue, and the reason for it.

    1) Q was "The Feathered Serpent." Where are the feathers?
    2) Did the guy at the museum say the Aztecs were monotheists, or was that just the way the editing made it sound? They definitely weren't is what I'm saying.

    "...comes outta nowhere..."
    Sorry for double post, but as a huge fan, I feel the need to *criticize* with nothing but love. Obviously, the guy making the sacrifices was identifying himself as the boss in charge of the diamond heist, calling the guy who nicked the diamonds "betrayer" and all. I also wanted to call this out because that's the kind of "casually clever" B movie stuff I love. Cheaper productions will just throw something like that in there, like the Hard Ticket super snake with tumor strength. ;p

    Also, yes, some men do take birth control..... but not for the reasons you think. Some birth control pills contain estrogen, which can be used to increase sperm development. However, using said estrogen might also stop facial hair growth, grow breasts and shrink the testicles.

    The reason there was not a lot of Q at the beginning of the film was that it was not ever supposed to be revealed until the fight on the building top (for budgetary reasons). For those scenes, the animated creature was created. The puppet was animated by Randy Cook (he won an Oscar for the creation of Gollum. After seeing the puppet the producers loved it so much they wanted more of it. All the earlier scenes involve the creature shots from Q's POV. So what the filmmakers did was they used those POV shots as background plates and inserted the creature in them.
