Simple yet the end result is so amazing. This is why your videos are always the best. It feels like I could actually accomplish this end result.
Thanks a lot Evan! I really appreciate the kind feedback 😊
Your video is excellent. And your skill is superb. Watching your video is like hearing sound of flowing river, soothing and mesmerising.
What a lovely comment! Thank you 😁
Beautiful result! And i love the first bits and pieces of the new soundtrack ❤️
Thanks a lot my friend! 🤗
Amazing work. Posted literally just as I was about to start contrast painting a large group of 3d printed houses. Took away a bunch of great tips from this. Thanks so much for all you give to the community 🖌️😊
Awesome - thanks a lot! 😀
Looks fantastic! Your terrain vies are always a great watch!
Thanks a lot Dylan! This was quick and fun to paint for sure 😀
another fantastic video sir! I don't have this set but I still learn something from everyone of your videos.
Thanks so much Steve! I'm happy to hear that 😁
Looks absolutely fantastic - great models, looking forward to seeing the miniatures getting painted aswell 😊
Thanks a lot! I'm looking forward to painting them too.. 😀
Glorious results.
Thanks dude! 😀
love it, brilliant work
Thank you my friend! 😀
Very cool, great work.
Thanks buddy 😁
It's snowing super hard, so I'm house bound for days now. I'm hoping AP speedpaint will work. I haven't got the GW, but I love the way he did the wall
Thanks! The AP Speedpaints should behave in much the same way.. 😀
Oh snap! Finally a big name painter doing this game :D
Did not see this one when available . Better late than never. There is a lot of new music material for your next fantasy cd . I m happy . As usual the result of your painting is stunning .
Thanks you so much my friend! 🤗
Amazing work my friend!
Absolutely love your videos, you are a big inspiration.
/Mattias Sweden
Thanks so much Mattias! I really appreciate that 😊
I have it on the way and this vid fills me with hope. Looks not too cumbersome for time but the final product looks great!
Thanks a lot! After the zenithal highlights etc, I got most of the actual painting done in a single day 😀
Love the flock and glue touch
Thank you! It's such an easy thing to do, but really adds to the look of models.. 😀
awesome 😍 makes me believe i can handle the painting of this game
Thanks a lot! You got this 😀
thx for nice wood tutorial.
You're very welcome! 😀
I love your work, dude! Please tell me you're planning on doing Moff Gideon and the Dark Troopers? I'd love to see your approach to their black armor!
Thanks a lot Jared! Yep, I'll be covering Moff Gideon very soon.. 🙂
New series hype!!
😁
Would have like to have seen more of oathsworn done.
Seem everyone just does a small amount, never a complete series.
But I guess as a channel, you have to go with the hype. Great video, as always, Sorasto. Cheers
Oathsworn is my favorite game of the year so far!
Excellent! I can't wait to play, but not until I've painted more of the minis... 😀
It’s Look fantastic
Thank you kindly! 😊
Ugh...I so want to get this game but *only* if I can get the whole kit. And at nearly 400 clams that ain't happening. As always, very nice painting, Sorastro.
I wanted to ask what if I have no contrast paints and dont want to buy it. Does it work if I dilute paint with water or lahmian medium? It fits to gameboard perfectly. Amazing work 👍
Thanks Michal! I imagine you could achieve fairy similar results with regular paints thinned with medium, and maybe a little flow enhancer.. 😀
I love the wet blending effect that you are achieving here with very full brushes over the zenithal work+drybrushing. I don't have Citadel Contrast paints, but Army Painter Speedpaints that I got last year. Will the same effect work with them, do you think?
Thanks Dave! I've not tried the Army Painter ones tbh, but they absolutely should work in the same way (just be wary of them reactivating if you apply more than one layer is all) 😀
Looks fantastic.
Does this mean some oathsworn tutorials in the future?
Thanks a lot Zack! Yes, I will be producing more Oathsworn guides.. 🙂
@@Sorastro hell yeah oathsworn needs more visibility
Hey Sorastro, I love this video and im going to use it when my copy of Oathsworn comes in! I had a question about zenithal priming with inks. How long are you letting the layers dry between steps? For example going from gray to white, and then actually starting to paint. Also are you using ink straight from the bottle? Thanks!
Thank you! I usually place the minis in front of a fan in-between layers, and they don't take long to dry at all. With the ink, I'll judge on an individual basis, but if it looks a little thick out of the bottle, I might add a touch of thinner and/or flow improver to help prevent blockages. 😀
Can you please do the Minis of the Frosthaven boardgame? I would love to see that.
Hi! I'm actually producing a series of PDF painting guides for Frosthaven: sorastro.com/2023/03/15/banner-spear-pdf-painting-guide/ 😀
Great video! How long do you have to wait before applying primer when you've used mod podge?
Thank you! I find Mod Podge dries quite a bit quicker than PVA, especially if I use a hairdryer to speed things along, but I couldn't tell you exactly how long tbh - just when it feels/looks dry tbh 😀
Amazing job as always. Do you plan to paint more oathsworn? The bigger scale would be very helpful for us noobs to practice and I found your tutorials very useful for learning.
Thank you very much! Yes, I'm actually producing a video for my first hero this month.. 😀
@@Sorastro I'm very happy to hear that. Your videos helped me a lot painting some lord of the rings minis, and I was planning to try painting Oathsworn. I'll sure follow your videos on those.
Awesome, thank you! 😀
I knew you could not NOT buy this! Awesome job once again. Did you play it already? What do you think about the game?
Hey! I'm planning to start my first campaign later this year (probably once I receive the 2nd edition upgrade which I backed, and when I have enough of the minis painted..!) 😁
As always brilliant and educational, would you be painting the hero figures from the game?
Thank you! Yes I will be painting the heroes; I'm aiming to get at least a few of them painted up for my first campaign when the updated components arrive later this year.. 😀
@@Sorastro i shall look forward to that, the game is great. I have put off painting my heroes just in case you had plans to do them.
Inspiring as allways. Do you plan to paint characters from Oathsworn too?
Thank you! Yes I will be painting the characters too! I'm aiming to begin my first campaign with a painted set of minis when the updated KS stuff arrives later in the year.. :)
Are you going to do a full series on this?
Yes Daniel! 🙂
@@Sorastro Full Oathsworn?? Wow I honestly can't wait!
Yep! It'll take me a while to get through them of course, but I'm keen to get enough painted for me to play the campaign.. 😀
@@Sorastro Of course the potential downside is we have to unbox the "mystery" beforehand haha. Looking forward!
I was also wondering if you have any experiencing airbrushing liquitex white ink? Whenever I try to do so it turns out a bit runny and I can never get the same smoothness as rattle can zenithal priming. The ink also reactivates with AP speedpaints :(
Love watching your content even for projects I don't have the content for and am finally glad to be a part of this one :)
Thanks a lot! Hmm I've not tried the Liquitex inks myself, so I'm not sure about that tbh.. 🙂
say sorastro just out of curiosity. Do you have any interest in painting the darkest dungeon boardgame?
kind regards.
Hi! I did think about it, but went with Oathsworn instead.🙂
How much wyldwood do you think you went through? Will need more than 1 bottle of that or anything else?
Hey there! It was a while ago that I made this, but I'm pretty sure I didn't use a whole bottle of anything 😀
@Sorastro thank you! They turned out great! Your imperial assault videos are what got me started painting. You're a legend keep doing what you do
@@brookes13x Thank you so much! 😊
noobie question here, why do black primer when the end result is a variation of grey to white for the whole model? thanks
Hi! I like to prime in black to achieve the strongest contrast I can between the deepest shadows and the brightest zenithal highlights. 🙂
Will you be doing minis painting tutorials too?
Yep! 🙂
@@Sorastro But for real? I mean you said the same thing about new Descent.
I do occasionally change my plans (for a variety of reasons) so I can only tell you what my honest intentions are at any given time, and it is currently my intention to cover more figures from Oathsworn. 🙂
@@Sorastro That's great! Leave the Exile, Cur, Ranger and Warbear for last, I have those painted ;-)
@@Sorastro It's been two months and no Oathsworn content. Did it meet the Descent fate?😢
Is that Javis flock just foam flock?
Hi! I'm not sure what it's made of tbh, but it's every fine and granular 🙂
Interesting use of Modge Podge as a seam filler
I mean, you can use pretty much anything that dries hard really.. 🙂
Moving forward with other Oathsworn boxes you may want to just be careful with Video titles and Thumbnails as not to disclose any spoilers. Apparently the mystery behind what is in each box is a big part of the game. So maybe label the videos "Box #4" or mention the specific quest they participate in.
Absolutely 😀
Is this new music? It sounds great
Thanks buddy! Yep - it's all new music 😊
@@Sorastro Can't wait for the new album ;)
Thanks man!
You *say* Kickstarter but it's actually Gamefound. Because the link is correct. I hate you now a little less *g* Until the next Star Wars mini is painted!
Ha ha, thanks dude 😁
@@Sorastro both true. First edition was on KS, second edition on GF.
What's wrong with the sound? 🙁
Hi! I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's a problem at your end..? 🙂
I love your videos, but I hate that I just did not stick with contrast paints. Tried speed paint as it was a bit cheaper to do these large models. I hate army painter. I will never recommend this trash paint to anyone.
Doh! Glad you like the video though.. 🤗
That is most impressive, but I'm still not inclined to give GW my hard earned money for these contrast paints. Army Painter, maybe, but not GW, as I can't stand their business practices and model, as well as how they view and treat their supporters.
That's fair enough! I bought these Contrast Colours back when GW were the only company to have such a product on the market, but I've ordered a set of the new Vallejo equivalents.. 🙂
