keenan was my favorite, really different style of teaching and showing concepts in his hey day. Passing a miyao guard too! Juice now, win trials, juice a lot by 2026 and get gordie
Keenan and Craig have a perfect chemistry, able to riff off each other and go toe to toe with jokes and questions. It's also such a treat to see Keenan in his element again! Please do consider making this a regular thing! Podcast
One of the best podcasts so far! I love Keenan and you two are great together! Please do another with him soon. Also, we would love longer podcasts if you're willing or able. ❤🙏
I like how Graig has just confirmed that John Danaher pretty much simply teaches MARCELO GARCIA’S GAME. I totally agree with him. Marcelo back in the day was so far ahead of everyone and John was very smart to notice and catch onto Marcelo’s game. Well noticed and recognized!
Love that Keenan is talking about how shit giving seminars is, meanwhile Craig is there to literally do a seminar at Legion for Keenan. Love the honesty!
Even attending seminars after a while gets boring, I’ve been to seminars taught by some of the best guys and never learnt anything too crazy or that which blew my mind. Most bjj is out there and easily accessible to everyone. I much rather would pay a high level guy and roll with him and his students for an hour then do the traditional 3 techniques and pictures then go home
One thing I miss is Keenan's podcast. I don't miss Josh on the podcast but I think Keenan had a lot to say. He probably still does and he could do a solo podcast. I imagined if he had the time or desire.
Keenan is one of the best jiu jitsu guys ever, new guys don’t even know him but just look at his record and who he has beaten. Braulio, Murilo, Leandro Lo, Kaynan Duarte, Craig Jones lol and many more, even gave guys like Buchecha and Rodolfo tough matches
I'll never forget that keenan added me on league of legends. that was one of the highlights of my own reddit career. i did not even know keenan got 'cancelled' we're still out here gangsta
the best podcast so far! great stories, flow and chemistry. BTW Keenan is so articulate, smart and good conversationist that you guys should upgrade to a joint podcast from now on!!
was nice for you to have a guest you actually bounce off your humour only makes keenan giggle 1/15 times but i admire your perseverance Craig keenan kept bringing it back to topic after you bombed a joke too which was great
Definitely need to get these two together weekly in a better studio setting. Great dialogue. Right amount of humor mixed with substantive observations. I'd totally watch these two regularly.
My old coach took me to one of the mma millionare events in orlando. It was very much like keenan described. We sat in this convention hall in a big hotel and he would have testimonial after testimonial with people in his network, avallon brothers, Nak from beta ect. tell about how much money they were making with this method. At the end of the pitches he would have ring girls come around and pass out sheets to fill out you cc info to buy the products. Also used the normally sells for 1200$ if you buy it right now you can get it for 997$. Cant tell you how many dvd's my instructor bought but it was alot. Everything from kids programs, afterschool programs, how to be a gym manager, how to structure contracts.
It’s a crime that Gordon has been on Rogan and Craig hasn’t. Gordon’s Jiu Jitsu is arguably 20-30% better than Craig’s but Craig’s personality is 87,000 times more entertaining than Gordon’s. It’s a no brainer.
Oss
I remember he was at Penn’s training center in Hilo around 2009-2011Thought he was just a huge nerd but he used to ragdoll all these established Hawaii competitors. PJ Barch as well
You two are hilarious and I’m just sitting here wondering why I’m watching two phenomenal jujitsu people talk lol, you’re wonderful people and inspirations to a lot of people! Great show! So can we do this again but like half as long of a conversation, and then segue into some grappling with you guys showing some of your skills on the mat. PS colloidal silver can beat conjunctivitis in one or two applications, usually spraying or putting drops in your right in your eye, and it’s only water with charged silver nano particles in it🤙🏽oss
Keenans submission using two lapel grips, in full guard, and just driving the blade of your foot into the person's neck is still on of the goat subs i try and use in my everyday life
Training with all these killers at TLI was the highlight of my early jiu jitsu despite the drama and swat teams. After being murdered continuously round after round, we would get demoted to lesser training circles. "You, go over there and fight Sarge" (Sijara, who was mincing up all the comp white belts).
I actually felt excited when Keenan was talking about the ELO ranking for grapplers and just let the street cred work loosely into the fighters putting their own money up for their matches. I think too that there should be two separate rankings for grapplers - one for skill and proficiency and consistency and one for straight entertainer and showman.
I guess the problem is ELO applying to different rule sets such as spamming IBJJF No GI comps vs spamming ADCC opens, Both are No GI but they are pretty different in both rules and who competes
@@Lockdown335 You and I both know judges and point based systems are for white through blue belts, and doesn't apply well to high level grappling. The ranking system would have to fundamentalize what a ELO-ranked BJJ match is in terms of time limit and what a draw means for ranking, since there will inevitably be matches where nobody gets a submission. I personally don't feel like OT-style matches make much sense, they incentivize tiring your opponent out in hopes of having a chance to win in OT where the stakes are higher.

One of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to. I’d love to hear a deeper dive into the sex cult of Irvin and more of what Keenan was saying about dds being an even worse cult
Keenan was a great guest. By far the most interesting episode of the podcast IMO.
Great take - been some great guests but Keenan killed it
Fact
It’s almost like he had a really great podcast that he abruptly abandoned
Agree super smart guy
@@fatguyonthc lol
This needs to be a regular podcast.
Great chemistry
na, every few months would be fine
Keenan and Craig needs to make this a regular thing. Their personalities are extremely complimentary.
Can’t wait for the only fans collab
@@lobsterairsoft499 keenan is hot
They complement each other so well, this should really be a recurring thing.
Yeah they don’t talk over each other but contribute to the conversation so well.
ya I agree, the first mat burn minus Hinger was wicked
Nah they would run out of shit to talk real fast
This is my opinion now too (15:12)
craig and chlamydia?
This was legitimately one of the best all-around podcasts I've listened to in a long time. I wish this was a semi regular thing..
KEENAN for the love of god. Get juiced out of your face and take down Gordon. Your final gift to the grappling community. You are the chosen one!
Yeh we need keenan on the juice. This would be the ultimate experiment.
Gordon is just better dude. Period.
Yeah, there’s nothing helping him lol. The skill gap is too exponential.

By far best duo in a Jiujitsu podcast ever. You guys need a regular collab together.
Great conversation. Keenan is a legend for sure

Josh was absolutely awful so lame and feminine
i think hes doing quite well with his school, jiu jitsu prices in san diego are crazy high now
Hinger was so irritating on the podcast.

Full Circle! I remember first hearing Craig Jones on the matburn podcast, years ago. He's been my second favourite grappler ever since! 🥈
Craig is absolutely the man and Keenan is one of the coolest ever do it
This is the most informative podcast I’ve heard on bjj for a while
So many standout moments from Keenan. Hyped for this one!
Could listen to these 2 do a podcast every day.
That was a fun episode. Great to hear from Keenan. Please have him on again!
I always feel smarter after listening to Keenan. Great guest. Wish you guys did a regular podcast together.
Super happy you did this one. 👏🏽
Their assessment of Nicky Rod killed me. 😂
The "shaved bear" and "unbridled fury" bits got me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Saint Keenis, it twas a pleasure to hear your voice again. The brotherhood of the worm has waited many moons.
Best guest so far, I wish we could see this combo more. Imagine Craig/Keenan on commentary for ADCC or flomatches. would be insane
Two of the realest, chill dudes in jiu jitsu. So nice to have a good podcast for the sport
This is the best episode yet. I’d listen to these two every week
Keenan is one of the best in and out of the mats. Big fan of fritzdagger, he'll never be truly canceled

Josh Hinger is fuming and seeing red after this episode
Need Matburn 2.0 with Miha.

Glad you didn't take the shot Keenan, stay strong. Love watching your old bjj videos : )
“I know a couple of brothers like that as well” Righto mate hahahaha so good
I was under Master Lloyd Irvin. But I refused cult life.
I’m proud that I watched this entire episode. So great.
This was an excellent episode. So much valuable commentary. You should do a part 2.
I respect when Keenan states he's not sure or doesn't know sometging rather than state it as fact
The comments are unanimous; we absolutely need to have this man on again.
Craig...beating Tye as a child, will always hold that victory :D
Best guest so far!!
Thanks for the knowledge, along with the entertainment great stuff !
*Honarable mention* Kennan faced Gordon Ryan at his original weight. And was arguably the start of Gordon's Reign.
