Ed. I expect you are aware, but you can apply to become the legal registered keeper of a car in the UK. This does not prove you own it, but does allow you to TAX it and thus make it road legal. Basically the DVLA will send a letter to the currently registered keeper and if they do not object you will become the new keeper. What I am saying is it should be possible to make that car legal in the UK (once it also passes an MOT test for roadworthyness), which should make it possible to export to the US under the show and display rules. If that didn't work you'd need to find the current registered keeper, which anyone in the police force could do or the DVLA will tell you if you have a good reason. While I'd be happy to help with any of this if it did come to it I'm sure Shmee would also help. I live on the Isle of Man - born and raised here and I've followed Eds hunt for the infamous F1 for years now. My heart dropped when I heard him say someone had seen it here hahaha. I thought the same thing though - Its the perfect place for it to be hidden and no one would ever find it. Once the guy said the police had turned up at the port etc. and arrested them, I knew it wasn't true as that would have made local news. Crazy to think though, it could be anywhere...
@@xXExtremeTABXx absolutely. Im from laxey myself, as soon as i heard authorities were involved i knew it had to be false. Police dont have enough braincells to rub together between the lot of them to pull of an operation like that lol
I believe the blue Ford GT Jeremy Clarkson way back was registered on the Isle of Man
It was. @@ShanesAutos
It will turn up .
Hey Ed, I lived on the Isle of Man for 10 years. Its a small community there and i have a lot of contacts still in the automotive scene, especially high end exotic tuning, maintenance, sales etc. There's a lot of dubious dealings over there due to its former status as somewhat of a tax haven, lots of Russian and Hong Kong money hidden there. So there is a chance the El Chapo F1 could be there... however, I asked on my social media and no one i know has seen or heard this rumour on the rock, and no one has heard of any connections to Frank Williams, or William MS and car collections there. Nigel Mansell used to live there but that was a good time ago now.
As soon as he said IOM I was doubtful, I just can’t see how you’d even get it on the island without everyone knowing, and store it there without anyone finding out.. there maybe dodgy money there but not assets it’s just not plausible
The fact that Frank Williams already owned a collection spanning 30 years of his own team's race & world championship-winning Formula One cars that have far greater history, value & importance than a single dodgy Mclaren F1 is clearly lost on gullible Ed....
That car is crushed way back. Or shot / blown up by cartel . Theres no way otherwise.
The Isle of Man is being used to hide many things of value, so hiding an F1 there would not be that odd.
True but the Williams stuff any long time F1 fan who knows the Williams families financial issues just sounded like pure bs right away lol. Also never had any links to the Isle of Man, alongside Frank being in a wheelchair for decades & never having a known interest in classic or collections beyond their old F1 cars.
I really want to see Ed Rocking an F1 with a Georgia License Plate that says "El Chapo".
honestly it's been a few weeks since ive watched this channel, but i clicked this as soon as i saw it on the right hand side of thumbnails to choose from.
Ed is the only RUclipsr who does 1 take and includes his sponsors seamlessly into his video. Legend
I'm sitting here watching thinking. How did we get talking about watches? Oh wait dot dot dot that's when it hit me😅
My guess it’s still in Mexico and in the living room of a cartel member who will never sell it.
FYI the Isle of Man is not in the UK. It is in the British Isles but is it's own dependency.
Glad im not the only one to point it out. Even recently the term “dependency” is under review as it really doesn’t describe us well at all.
I bet he can hold his breath underwater for 10 minutes
I am based in the Isle of Man and own a tyre business here. If there is any way I can help, just late me know.
You will get it
Video here describjng how Taylor from AutoAlex used this process to put an abandoned BMW back on the road. ruclips.net/video/ULTHfZCgTb0/видео.htmlsi=ZasUuciokBq8KTec
Definitely an option now that the Vermont title loophole has flown the coop....
The Isle of Man isn't part of the UK though, so this may or may not apply.
Here for this.
Be like "oh, it's just a modded Noble"
I hope more than anything that you never own an F1.
😂😂😂
These are too valuable to vanish: I’d bet my balls McLaren know exactly where this car is.
My bet is it’s now with a new owner. In a new colour. And probably in the U.S. And McLaren would know.
I really want Ed to be able to get this car
First Vin story i ever saw was the El Choppo F1 and these are always the best. Hopefully you’re able to get it Ed, Best of Luck always!
Plot twist: not only is 039 not going to be a bargain, but the legend of it's existence makes it the most valuable F1 on the planet by 200%
To say I’ve been waiting for an update on the story would be the biggest understatement maybe ever
Humberto’s children will never give that car up or expose themselves, not even in exchange for their father’s killer. They disappeared and did not continue in the drug trade. Maybe when they die there son might expose it.
SOMEONE has to know where this McLaren is at. Tell Ed already!!
One day ED I fully believe you’ll have this car in ur garage
Im a mechanic at Williams, I was about to say I can ask some questions before you said you’d made contact already. Hope you do find this one day!
I'll give you guys the cliff notes. Story was made up. Still no up to date photos.
Nothing would please me more than an El Chapo F1 update from Ed's Garage
Who knew that this story would lead to my home of the Isle of Man 😂
Eds hunt for the El Chapo F1 is like my hunt for the Herbie left at the bottom of the ocean in Puerta Vallarta...
The ppl who keep trying to trick you need Jesus
Ed, love this El Chapo F1 story! Just keeps getting more mysterious.. I think the F1 is probably still in Mexico, hidden some were and forgotten.. Im sure it will pop up one day and hopefully at some point, it will be on its way to Atlanta! :) Saludos from Orlando!
I hope actually find the car one day even if it can't be bought.
On the other hand, if you possessed that car, would you really want to admit to having possession of it over the phone or in text or email especially to someone you don’t know I would think just admitting that you own it or have possession of it could cause a lot of problems should certain people find out
Its right that this car is in the UK, and it has been there for many years.
So, no new news, got it. You are a great storyteller, I'll give you that. I hope you actually find your F1 someday.
When I see these videos pop up, I pretty much know there's gonna be no new news, but they're always entertaining anyway. Like he said though, one day!
I feel like you’d have a better shot at finding the Missing type 57sc Atlantic with how many people have ran you around on this car… I hope one day you finally get it.
Ed's first call when he was ready to do some sketchy shit in the UK was Sam Hard..😂👍
You not go find it because EL Chapo family still got it 😂
3:55 = and in fact ,you can see the "CPJ" bit, poking out on ed's left (our right)
Ed at this point is making bank! With this f1 stuff!
Bring it home, Ed!!!
It looks like it has been MOT'd in the UK from 2005-2020.
