Here in México the government doesn’t issue titles instead we have “facturas” which is like a bill of sale and it can be issued by pretty much any business that pays taxes. So whatever he showed you I can guarantee is not legit. Any business can make one of those and just put Mclaren logos on it. And I wouldn’t doubt it being registered in Mexico, it isn’t hard to get license plates on pretty much any car regardless of its situation. So if it is registered it wouldn’t make much difference because there’s many breaches in Mexican law that would make almost impossible for the government to seize the car so even if they knew where it was I doubt they would do anything.
They seized almost every one of his other assets that they could locate. There's nothing stopping a corrupt government from seizing a car like that, or any car that they want to seize for that matter.

You would think though if it was registered it would have been spotted at some point being driven. ? Maybe not because of how rare the car is but why register it, give up its location/information, if it’s just going to stay sat in a garage ?
The translation for factura is recipt or invoice since any recipt or invoice from a dealership in the us has legal value not like mexico that the irs has to authorize your invoice or "facturas"

It's a lot of fun to hear the updates on this hunt. Always appreciate a good "be wary" story. Your advice that no one gets to hold the car, title, and money at the same time saved me on a recent scam as I search for my 2013/2014 Porsche 911 4S.

Years ago I purchased a car from a dealer in Culican and registered it in Sinaloa. The title didn't look anything like what was shown in the video. The title looked just like you would expect a title to look like.

Being from Mexico, that F1 is probably shacked up in a Mansion in Sinaloa siting in a corner rotting away unfortunately, but hope that sometime in the near future we get a real update, photo of it!

That Swedish F1, RJC547, is no longer under that reg in Sweden. The reg is reused and now on a Ford Ranchero, since 2006, the current owner of that reg seems to be a snowmobile enthusiast. This is either because of it being exported or crashed, let us hope for the former.
The ownership document for a vehicle in Mexico is the original invoice for the vehicle. If you sell it, you sign it on the back and it is transferred to the next owner. That might or might not be the ownership document for that car.
