I did my kid's room in classic Winnie the Pooh. So not the cartoonish Disney version, but more true to the book. Light greens and pale yellows.
My very first thought was vintage Peter Rabbit, but I didn’t think you would do a full on theme. Your comments support that idea. So, like English cottage-y leaning masculine?

McKenna, make sure you put that bear in a pillowcase before you wash them might tear up the fabric and do it on gentle maybe a soak in baby fabric soapy wash

My husband and I just did a somewhat “vintage Winnie the Pooh” and bear-ish themed nursery for our baby boy because we both grew up with similar themed bedrooms 🥰

I considered this nursery theme also.
We did the same! My “going home outfit” from the hospital was Winnie the Pooh and I wanted to tie that back in with my son. It was so cute!
Did that for my daughter. She's now 19, and she still loves that her Dad painted the pics from the crib set on her walls and I striped them cream and sage.

Kitchen skylight advice: we put one in and asked the contractor to make the bottom opening bigger than the skylight, i.e., the walls of the "well" were slanted. If your skylight is 2' x 4', for example, the bottom opening would be 3' x 5' or larger. Paint the well walls white to reflect more light. We also had recessed lights but never had to turn them on during the day (and i need lots of light when preparing food) unless it was dark and rainy.
I’m really enjoying the new opening scenes format. It’s a refreshing way to do the “what’s to come” without making the content so redundant and abrasive. Just letting you know that I notice and appreciate that style choice!

My go-to is Ace Hardware, then Window Depot (specifically for trim), then Lowes. I avoid Home Depot unless they're the only place with the thing in stock. They're awful.
Funny, in vernon , Canada our home depot is the best place on earth! They have such knowledgeable staff!
Maybe a travel themed nursery? To incorporate Romeo's Philippino background and your mutual love for travel to Europe/etc.? Excited to see what you guys decided on!

Definitely a possibility - she showed several shots of suitcases, etc when she was at the flea... Not that she was necessarily interested in them per se, but when you've got something in mind, related items subconsciously catch your attention.
I thought jungle theme because of Romeo's heritage
For nearly a decade now, since we got a Lowe’s in our area, it’s always my first stop. I found the exact same: better service, better quality, better variety, and often better prices. My husband is still of the mindset that Home Depot is the place for “Real Construction” stuff so he always goes there first and I just roll my eyes because I know what’s going to happen - we’re going to end up at Lowe’s anyhow 😂
LOVE the idea of skylights in the kitchen! I can never get enough natural light.
I agree, when looking for a house i made sure we had no trees over our home. We have tons of natural light. Now i would love a tree or two for some shade and privacyl oh well
I know it’s not totally the norm anymore but just my suggestion it would be really beneficial to just get legally married and have a marriage certificate for the benefit of the baby and legalizing the family unit. In case of emergencies and for life insurance purposes, you and Romeo being legally married is helpful. You don’t have to change names or have a big expensive ceremony but it also means a lot symbolically I feel to have married parents. Ily ❤ so excited for your fam!

Are you moving your bedroom upstairs beside the babies nursery ? You should be beside them for the first year of life and definitely not on a different level in case of emergencies ,

Once again, I don't think you will be happy downstairs while your baby is upstairs, baby monitor or not. Once those mama genes kick in, you will want him close and even though you will probably have a bassinet in your bedroom for awhile, it will be too hard to move him upstairs away from you at any point. Little boys climb out of their cribs at 9 months old sometimes, my grandson did, and you won't want him at the top of the stairs in the hallway because they can climb baby gates too. I think you need to make your bedroom upstairs and Romeo's room the nursery and make Romeo's room downstairs where your bedroom is. Makes so much more sense.

I did kind of a bear/outdoor vintage theme for my son ...ehem, 23 years ago.....I painted a huge tree in the corner of his room and the leaves went onto the ceiling and I hung a rope swing with a wooden seat that I had made and his "bear" went onto that swing. He still has that bear and his name is "beary" and he would die if he knew I told anyone he still has Beary! LOL in the opposite corner, I painted it like the moon was peaking into his room (his ceiling was white so the white were the "clouds") and even had a few constellations painted in there as well!!! Ohhhh how fun and I cannot wait to see what you have decided!!!! Enjoy the process!!!!! I have 4 wonderful children and I got to do this for every single one of them and it was a great way to help the time pass and stay active!!! You and Romeo are so much fun to watch and I'm just thrilled for you both and your families!!!!!! ❤😘

My guess on the nursery theme is "Scottish". A very classic room with dark wood accents and Tartan prints/fabrics. That would be so much fun 🙂

Perhaps the “Guess How Much I Love You” book theme with the adorable hare and his friends? My oldest is 15 years now, but he used to LOVE that book series. Very sweet, and it would be a great theme for baby boy’s nursery. No matter what you choose, we all know it will be thoughtfully curated and beautifully designed. ❤️

I only shop at HDif I can’t get it a Lowes. Lowes’ customer service is the best, HD doesn’t have customer service.
I used to work at Lowe’s and can personally vouch for it verses Home Depot. Fun fact - Lowe’s has been around longer than Home Depot but Home Depot has more locations. 🛠️
…. Lowes’ owners are also not anti-lgbtqia. I know some ppl don’t necessarily care but it means a lot when you need to choose a place to shop as a queer person who loves DIY
It has to be a mix of both of your styles but it will definitely will be a sophisticated French nursery so I'm thinking Peter Rabbit or Le Petite Prince
My guess is a nautical nursery!! That can be taken from a cheesy point of view but if you do it right it can be so cute and classic in a boy’s nursery. That’s also something we wouldn’t guess by looking at you and Romeo

I might not get the proportions of the room right, but why not swap the guest bed and the crib, it would feel more like a nursery with a bed in it than a guest room with a crib put as an afterthought, just the fact that it's the first thing you see when entering the room. And maybe you can style the guest bed in the alcove more like a day bed

Better yet…… make it the Master with a built in Nursery! Convenient, cozy for all three to be together in the first couple of years, and adorable. I still don’t understand the thinking behind the Nursery being in a corner of a guest room with their Master downstairs. So odd.

It's 19.10 here in the Uk, and there's nothing like snuggling in bed and seeing a MaCenna notification. I seriously love & watch ALL of your content, but i do get a serotonin kick out of your flea market/estate sales/thrift vlogs. It's the best kind of window shopping

I have the opposite problem here. We have a local Home Depot but the closest Lowes is about 35 miles away. I absolutely will not go to that Lowes again. I swear the people there hide when there are customers in the store. Then If I do find someone, they know absolutely nothing about anything, are unfriendly and unprofessional. I walk into the local Home Depot and the cashiers greet me and there are employees all over the place and every single one of them ask me if I need help, if I found what I was looking for, if they can help me etc. So I'll keep shopping there and avoid Lowes. Additionally, there's a larger city we sometimes visit and the Lowes there is the same as the one in our area. It's crazy that people's shopping experiences are SO different depending on what state they are in. Both companies should look at their practices and do some training.

Let me tell you that growing a baby & having a baby also grows lioness Mummas! It's a kind of transition: you go from being your parent's child to being a parent yourself & that totally changes you. Can't lie, I'm here for it! Love you xx
So true, I’ve always had a hard time standing up for myself but when I became a mom, I wouldn’t hesitate to go to war for my baby😆
@angelica.mercado totally! I remember it used to really take me by surprise that calm, kind , zero confident me could be soooo ferocious about my children 🤣. It's quite liberating actually but can feel very strange at first xxx
So true ladies. I remember I was two days away from delivering my daughter and someone almost side swiped me while driving. I absolutely lost my mind. How dare they endanger my baby! I was so surprised how angry and protective I had reacted. Now, she is almost 6 and I promise no one will mess with my child and get away with it. Mama bear is absolutely a thing.
I work at Lowe's near where I live. I have always like Lowe's over Home Depot even before I started working there.
I always go to Lowe’s, never Home Depot for these very reasons. I’ve even bought my large appliances and flooring from Lowe’s. When I renovated my condo I bought everything there, hardware, doors, etc. Always pleased with them.

The Lowe’s near me is literally the best. The workers are so helpful. Took my husband a year to finally convert from his Home Depot allegiance, but he’s finally convinced.
I recommend that you must cut your hair shorter because it will be a lot easier to handle when the baby is born. And hair gets dry after giving birth.❤

Hey. Will the nursery be painted with sketches of animals, say black& white. They say Bold black-and-white images stimulate the development of the optic nerves. My friends bedroom room was originally similar set up as your bedrooms, though they founds after six months that they moved next to the nursery due to spending more time in it than their room plus they wanted to be at the same level due to being so tired running up& down ..Good luck😊xx

lol glad im not the only with Home Depot lol. I feel like home depot where I live they thinks we are about to steal so there’s always someone to help us lol, but when we say yes we have a question. Agree! My Home Depot is a pit, has no inventory and RUDE staff! Love the Local Lowe's! If you happen to have a Menard's, they have the best selection of trim - at least mine does.

Can’t wait to see the nursery theme! Ever since you moved into this house all I can think about is kids and a fire plan. I know that’s like a really dark thought, but the spare rooms are so far from the master. Probably just my own paranoia, but I had to mention it as most people don’t have one ❤️. Yes Home Depot is lazy and rude but Home Depot is more for the contractor & Lowe’s is more for the DIY’er & they have more decorative stuff
Natural lighting is great! Please take into consideration blackout curtains for baby sleep schedule. Mine sleep anywhere, but I've heard darkness is helpful.
I agree with you!! Home Depot has some of the rudest employees, here in Maine too!! I have stopped going there because of bad service too!! I just remodeled my kitchen and other parts of my home and purchased most everything from lowes.

French Provincial Nursery 😊
Years ago, I came to the same conclusion regarding Home Depot. I was renovating three properties to make into rentals. I felt like home Depot was my home away from home. And usually knew where EVERYTHING is there. I was looking for a new line of bathroom fixtures that my plumber son-in-law recommended as being easy to install easy to repair and not too expensive but very well built. I asked a H.D. employee if they carried that line, ( before phones had Internet capabilities). He was so rude; said that he didn't know, that he didn't work on that department even though he was there, not helping anyone else, and when asked if he could call one who did, he sighed heavily walked away. I thought he radioed for help.Nope, he just left me standing there . After 5 or soinutes, I left. I had spent over $20k for materials in a 6 month period. I didn't expect special. Help, just help. Now I go to Lowe's almost exclusively. We do have two stores nears us that get close outs from big retail stores and freight damage products so we start there. Your body is feeding a whole little person, not just physically, but emotionally too, So you are going be tired and emotionally drained and ecstatic about it all. Nothing in your life will wear you so fast and lift you up as much as this boy . You look so great.

When expecting my girls I did everything. Seems people can’t handle being pregnant anymore. Whining all the time. Almost wanting me to inscribe 😰women who worked on farm continued on. My mom did
@@carolynmcewen5104 Every pregnancy is different for every woman. And each woman's pregnancy can be different. I felt very energetic with my daughter but tired all the time with my son. Please remember we are all human and not judge someone for being different from yourself.

Kudos to you for going through that flea market- I would never have the patience to go through that much stuff. No doubt the colors you choose for the nursery will be beneficial to the development of your baby, rather than the current neutral or dark moody trend.
It will be a Hunter theme..like old fashioned hunting paintings of horses jumping over logs and you'll name your son Hunter.

Noah’s Ark would be adorable! The mama giraffe with her baby would fit right in. ❤️
I did a Noah’s Ark theme for my first born son’s nursery 35 years ago! It was difficult to find Noah’s ark items at that time, so I commissioned a local artist to carve me a Noah’s Ark with all of the animals. It was absolutely adorable. I wish I still had it, but it was played with for so many years, the pieces eventually were lost & the ark moved on, lol.
.... Platters is what you forgot to look for!! LOL
Also loved the baby and mama giraffes, should of grab them... never know when you would change the room again to something different as they get older (speaking from experience).

Interesting how the stuffed animal for the baby doesn't seem to have any eyes . You've mentioned in a few videos how things with eyes creep you out lol. I love the texture of the bear.
